I just wanted to share mine and my husbands process for those who might have lost hope due to the length of the process. We are not one of those special ones that got the work authorization approved in 2-4 weeks. I wish! Our PD date is 10/31/2024. We did not get biometrics scheduled until 12/07/2024. Our appointment was scheduled for 12/24/2024, we went and they were closed. Our appointment was then scheduled two days afterwards for 01/17/2025. My husband went for his biometrics yesterday and we just received an approval today 10/18/2024 for his EAD. Tears came to my eyes. This process has been long for us because we originally had submitted July in 2023 but the person who we paid to fill out the papers had filled it out incorrectly with a lot of incorrect information. We did not notice until 02/24/2024. I had to submit a letter to withdraw the case. It was withdrawn in early October 2024, we then submitted everything AGAIN this time I educated myself and did it myself and submitted with a PD date of 10/31/2024. We still have a long ways to go and of course there is uncertainty with a new administration coming in on Monday. I do believe there is a light at the end of tunnel for everyone though. Keep persevering!

so in oct i met this guy at a bar and we have been talking since, and over thanksgiving and christmas we hooked up a lot, but im just getting kind of confused
like i came into this thinking it was just like a fwb sort of situation but he invited me to meet his friends one night, and i met like all of his best friends. and im just super confused on like wtf that makes this. from his actions, he is obviously not serious about me, and i feel like im making it worse because i have never had something like this, and I am getting my feelings kind of caught up in it, but also wanting to protect myself emotionally and physically, even though we haven’t gone all the way.
emotionally im a little offended bc if this isn’t anything to you and we are just like fuck buddies i can’t understand why he invited me to meet his friends. and honestly im a little hurt about it because i feel stupid for thinking that because of that it might make him take me more serious.
but im also just like emotionally kind of tied up with him. i know we are just fwb but are we exclusively seeing each other? are we seeing other people? and it’s like i’m scared to even ask because i know it’s going to hurt me if he is seeing other girls, but it also hurts me that if i am the only girl he is seeing, why he doesn’t take this more seriously. and i don’t know how to communicate that with him without coming off like i care so much, because i don’t want to seem crazy attached even though i’ve caught feelings and im thinking about him more than i want to.
before christmas, i feel like i had the ball in my court and we were seeing each other on my terms, but then i caught feelings and i started to just do everything he said and what he wanted, but on the flip side it wasn’t like that.
last night i got drunk and i texted him and the conversation basically went as follows (i know our conversations are so fucking dry it is impossible to have a deep conversation with him which is why i feel like im shooting myself in the foot here”:

and he replied saying “oh that’s ok, and well we do go to different unis that are far from each other” when my best friends go to his uni and im from where that uni is so it’s just like confirming my thoughts on what it is. and im disappointed but not surprised. i just don’t know how to process or even respond. i’m supposed to go home next weekend and i wanted to see him again for selfish reasons, even though i know what this is.
i’m just like annoyed and i also feel like what is wrong with me in a sense, bc like where did i go wrong where i couldn’t change his mind on me, and ik some people might be like “well you met in a bar how stupid can you be” but also just like why did he take the steps to show me into his personal life if this was all so surface level. like I came into this thinking it was just a hook up situation, and then he throws a fucking curve ball where i’m meeting all of his best friends and he is still treating me like crap, i just don’t know if that was just an excuse to get into my pants on his terms. idk if i am even confused atp, i just don’t know how to move forward.

I’m looking at getting a 2013 mini cooper r56 hardtop, 75k miles, guys claiming to be a mechanic and having serviced it himself, but doesn’t have any records. but I’d take a look at it and probably get it inspected but I wanted to see if there’s anything in particular I should look out for. From a bit of research I I know the belt are behind the tire and I can’t really see it unless he lets me jack it up and remove the tire, and I know to listen for knocking/ rattling sounds and leaks from broken seals, but anything elseis it worth it if he doesn’t have maintenance records or anything? He’s asking 9k USD ( hoping to get down to 8k USD) here’s the photos of her! I’m comfortable working on some cars, I’ve changed breaks, water pump, tie rods, ran some electrical and fixed a hydraulic top before, but not comfortable with in depth/ engine maintenance if that makes any difference. I remember seeing a video some time back that featured an external spool holder with two slots that automatically switched when one spool ran out, but i can't find the right keywords to locate it in s search.
With the current kerfuffle in the 3D printing world I have started my search for an alternative to the Bambulabs AMS, because auto changeover after emptying a spool is something I value the most. I can live without multicolor printing honestly, even though it is neat.
Does such a thing exist?
Did I hallucinate this mystery device?
