Hi there, - When I go on a long holiday, I pack a lot of clothes and I pack shampoo, showering gel, soap,razor and shaving foam. What is the general name for shampoo, showering gel, soap,razor and shaving foam? Cleaning equipment? I guess not but something similar. Thank you! It is difficult to explain. I would guess - cleaned is associated with soap, water, and dirt (and as an adjective, clean is more common), while cleansed often a more literal cleaning. (Cleansor is an exception ot this idea.) A clean shirt, a clean room. A cleansed soul (clean of sin), a cleansed palate (clean of tastes). That's my take. I'd accept either in both of those sentences, but if I were saying or writing them, I'd use "for" in the one about shoe cleaning and "to" in the one about legal advice. By the way, we usually refer to a hotel's customers, like those of a restaurant, as patrons rather than clients. (Clients is right for the lawyers.) There is also a "kitchen porter", who may do washing up as well as general cleaning, moving things around, taking care of food deliveries, etc. In a large establishment there will probably porters and dishwashers, however, doing separate jobs. What do you call someone who is obsessed with cleaning (a house) in English? I know "houseproud" might fit in, though I think it's more neutral in connotation, but is there any other slang word for it? Especially when it sounds rather negative? Eg., This Chinese laundry soap will clean just about any oils or grime out of your clothing. It is not harmful for most colors. It is harmful for cleaning dirt spots in your carpeting unless the spots are small in area. I guess all these sentences are right and idiomatic but someone says a.2. is not right. What do you think of "I'd like you to be able to start cleaning the room when you’re ready."? 2025.01.19 04:10 HizzOVizzA Can't stop thinking about a mistake I made today
So today, I went to a convention dressed up as Player 456 from Squid Game. The venue would be at a wing of a convention center. There were lots of people there and I had fun.
Now, if you watch the show, there is a meme going around where the main character yells "I HAVE PLAYED THESE GAMES BEFORE!" A kind photographer approached me and asked if I can do the line for him on his camera. I said yes.
We were near a large stage where the music was loud, so we opted to move to a different area. We ended up right beside a little makeshift room where workshops are being done. The walls are basically cloth. We decide to rehearse the line, so I'm yelling fairly loud while he figures out how to angle the shot. Before he would actually start recording, someone from inside the workshop room comes out. She looked annoyed as hell and told us to go somewhere else because we were being too loud for them while they do their workshop.
And so, me and the photographer walk away quickly and laugh off the situation. We end up at another part of the wing and he gets the shot of me saying the line. We then made light of the situation and turned it into an inside joke.
However, on the inside, I'm still thinking about the incident and such. I t got to a point where I later approached staff leaving the workshop room and tell them what happened. We laugh as well, but I suggested to them that they should hang up signs telling people to remain quiet in that area while they do the workshops. They thought it was a great idea and they said they would hang signs tomorrow.
But still, I keep thinking about how I disrupted the workshop accidentally. To the point where someone got annoyed and angrily told me and the photographer to move. I know anxiety and aspergers go hand in hand, but does anyone keep thinking about mistakes they made?

I recently went to a delicious Korean restaurant owned by an elderly Korean man. Most of the customers there were Korean. The food tasted amazing.
I noticed that I’ve never experienced this for Japanese restaurants. Are there any places in the Chicago area where you will hear a lot of Japanese being spoken? I feel that all of the sushi and ramen places I’ve been to are very Americanized. Where do Japanese people go for authentic food?

Went to outback steakhouse today, first time. First time actually ordering steak from somewhere. I got a, I believe 6oz filet mignon, either 6 or 8oz. I asked for it to be medium.
It was cooked to medium, no complaints there, but it was just...seasonless. The only flavor it had was the beef, literally. I used the salt and pepper provided and it helped a little, but still was just...not worth the money.
Do you guys skip out on restaurant steak?

First problem was pretty straightforward, solved it with no mistakes on my first attempt (first time doing so).
Got absolutely smoked by the 2nd one. Don’t feel too bad after looking at the solutions from the top ranked finishers. I was trying to find a pattern or something as I always default to brute forcing but doesn’t look there really was one.
This is my third contest and have only managed to get the first problem each time.
Stats: 137 problems solved. 110 easy, 27 medium
Still struggling to make the jump to medium.
