I’ve made a couple posts about my playthrough with my wife already, but something happened today that genuinely effected me. My wife and I play this game together maybe 3-4 days out of the week and we made some good progress. We were just about to cross into the 2nd area of the game when we got a warning that we were under leveled. We were a little confused about this, as we’d had a fair amount of battles at this point. But after some discussion we decided we could kill whoever was banging in the barn, the goblins in the blighted village, and the owl bear in the cave we that we ultimately decided to leave alone earlier in the game because we didn’t have the heart to kill her and her cub.
So we do the first two things without much struggle. I did feel bad for killing the two people having sex in the barn because one of them expressed genuine remorse when we killed their partner. We took a long rest after both these encounters were over. And wouldn’t you know it, an owl bear cub happens upon our camp. I had already cast speak with animals so I could talk to scratch, so I got to talk to him as well. I found out that his mother was dead before he ran off. Wyll assured me that it would be back.
So the next day, my wife and I decide we’d take the owl bear mother and it’s cub on, mainly for the exp so we could level up. We make our way to the cave and my heart actually dropped.
I’d cast speak with animals again, ready to at least speak to the mother again, only to find that she had been slaughtering pointlessly by goblins. My wife had suggested to me earlier that the cub was the same kid as this owl bears in the cave, but I didn’t believe her due to the fact that we had already met the mother and she was very much alive. Needless to say my heart broke. Especially because in my single player campaign I killed both the mother and her cub without a second thought.
So shit is sad. Obviously now I’m going to protect this cub (and scratch) at all costs. But I will say that it’s been a while since a game made me feel like this, and I’m also just genuinely impressed at how different things can be in this game based off of things that you did without ever thinking it would have an effect on the story.
I love this game, y’all. Help

I don't even know since when I have this trait that I want to help people even at the cost of my own well-being. I love to talk to people and listening their problems and what's going on in their life. I want to know why the person behaves In a certain way and what could be the reasons behind it. I feel like it is my responsibility to talk to people and offer them help. This behaviour of mine has also caused conflict sometimes with my friends where I'm giving advice and all and they become frustrated of me.
In the last 2 years, I have controlled my mind to not get bothered by everyone and it is natural that as long as we are alive, we all have problems. Some people are so good at acting in a way that seems like their life is full of happiness and satisfaction but the reality can be different. For example, if someone acts too independently, saying they don't need anyone to make themselves happy, there can be multiple reasons why they think so, like it is their coping mechanism to avoid getting hurt by other and in childhood, they might have experienced that their parents weren't their to support them emotionally or some tragedy might have happened which left them with no one around them to pamper them and provide emotional support, so they developed this trait that they can be independent and don't need anyone. But deep down, they also know that they are suppressing true self, their needs to feel heard and valued.
I am so curious about people's behaviour, that's why I'm studying Sociology and along with that also trying to study psychology. Maybe I need to detach myself from having sympathy to having empathy for people but at the same time, I don't want to be their savior. I can only guide them and provide them necessary emotional support and they can help themselves. Sometimes I think I should become a counsellor or therapist if I want to help people. But it is also a fact that you can ruin your mental and physical health badly when you keep thinking about others but not yourself.

Hello, just for context me and my partner are autistic and have a hard time with social situations and I feel like our roommates are taking advantage of us and they’re making us uncomfortable. We moved into a sublet and things were okay, we stay in our room and keep to ourselves. Prior to moving in, my friend was staying but had to leave and asked if we’d like to take over bc we had an unsafe living situation (mold and no insulation and it was making us sick) and I told her and the new roommate that we’d be late and we get paid weekly so we’d have to catch up The new roommate said it was fine because they were desperate and prior to my friend they had a roommate who ghosted them. Last week we went to the store and saw a 3 day pay or quit notice and saw they owed almost 13k in back rent and they haven’t paid since September. My friend said they told her they were behind by a month and catching up Ever since then, we’ve been accused of using things and taking things when we haven’t. She even accused us of using her used bar of soap which is gross. We don’t use bar soap and we have two body washes. And then she went off about us using the bathroom febreeze that’s behind the toilet. There’s no space for us to even place things bc all of her stuff is everywhere and we barely have fridge space The fires have impacted our employment but now I’m like should we even be giving these people money? And I feel like I can’t even go out of the room bc I feel anxious. And the other roommate scares me. He’s a big guy who I think is an alcoholic and he is always stomping and screaming and slamming things Sorry I know this is long I just am stressed
