Hi, I am turning 22 and want to improve my financial literacy to better manage my finances, even if I don't earn much from my current internship. I was looking at the different portfolios that POSB offers and I am unsure which option would be the best if right now I can only commit 100/month (although I am still open to using more of my savings to get the ETF portfolio if it is beneficial in the long run). Is there any advice regarding which options are better?
I have also heard that applying for credit cards is good for the credit score, but since there are so many different options, I'm just not sure if it is necessary or if there is a recommended card I should get (assuming I will always try to pay off per month).
If there are any tips you guys have to share, I am keen to learn. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone!
Yes, I know this is a long post. Sorry—not really! Let’s dive in.
I created this account because I want to interact with you all more after using Reddit for 15 years without really engaging with this community much.
Let’s start with some personal context.
I was born profoundly deaf. ASL is my native language. I have cochlear implants, but I don’t wear them daily. I grew up mainstreamed with a team of ASL interpreters because my parents wanted me to have a better education. However, they were very aware of the extreme isolation I experienced at school. They did everything they could to make sure I had a full social experience with my deaf/pro-ASL peers.
I had many deaf friends growing up and countless sleepovers with them. My parents sent me to a local deaf school for summer school every year during my elementary and middle school years. They also sent me to a deaf camp in my state many summers and to every major deaf event they could. While my primary education was at a mainstream school, I grew up with a strong foundation in the big “D” Deaf community. This is how I acquired fluency in ASL and an intimate understanding of this side of the world.
If you were to meet me today, you might assume I’m a big “D” Deaf person.
And that’s the thing…
I’m not. That’s why I’m making this my first post on this subreddit.
When I became an adult, I decided I was tired of living in the “hearing world.” So, I immersed myself in the “Deaf” world. At the time, I thought I was finally going home, to where I belonged.
I spent years in that world. To a great extent, I succeeded. I know many people in the Deaf world, and many know me. But… it wasn’t what I thought it would be.
I struggled deeply with how the Deaf community views deafness and the “hearing world.” I’ve found that the big “D” Deaf community often harbors a deep contempt for the “hearing world.” I just can’t see the world that way. I don’t believe in dividing life into a “deaf world” and a “hearing world.”
Yes, there’s a “deaf world.” But the way I see it, the “hearing world” isn’t a separate world—it’s the rest of the world.
I believe we should find a way to coexist with the rest of the world. We have a place there. I believe we should strive to integrate with the broader world rather than isolate ourselves from it. The rest of the world isn’t inherently evil or trying to erase us. The challenges we face are largely rooted in ignorance, and ignorance can be overcome—not fought or resisted endlessly.
If we focused our energy on finding our place in the broader world rather than building walls to isolate ourselves, we could elevate our community beyond what we ever thought possible.
After nearly a decade in the big “D” Deaf world, I became disillusioned. I’ve since limited my involvement with it and instead invested in developing my own world and networks with people across the deafness and hearing loss spectrum. I’ve also become a passionate advocate for disability rights. This shift was incredibly empowering. It allowed me to reframe my worldview around the deafness/hearing loss spectrum and the broader disability spectrum. In doing so, I’ve made countless friends and built a huge network.
This brings me to deaf.
For the longest time, I ignored this subreddit. I liked using Reddit with my main account to engage in communities related to my hobbies outside of the Deaf world. Reddit was my escape.
I assumed deaf was dominated by big “D” Deaf perspectives, and I had no desire to interact with that while on Reddit. But a few years ago, I got curious and started browsing this subreddit.
I was floored. I discovered that deaf is filled with people from across the deafness/hearing loss spectrum. The big “D” Deaf perspective is far less dominant here than I expected. I realized this community reflects my views on identity and the world far more than it reflects the big “D” Deaf worldview.
That’s why I created this account. I want to be part of this community. I also want to use this account to discuss some major issues in the big “D” Deaf community that I rarely see addressed here. Since I’m deeply connected to and knowledgeable about that community, I’d like to bring those discussions to light.

 | Started a new playthrough with a custom character, Jacaerys Waters. He's the bastard son of Princess Saera and Lord Corey's "The Sea Snake" Velaryon. Being bastard born Jacaerys was denied access to any of the dragons, eggs or hatchlings in the draogon pit at Kings Landing or the dragonmount on Dragonstone so he had to go another way to claim his inheritance . After visiting with his father Lord Corlys on Driftmark before departing for the Free Cities to make his fortune he decided to go to Dragonstone to tame a wild dragon like his ancestors. Through sheer will and bravery , perhaps with fate oh his side, he claimed Aegarax , a great green and blue she-dragon, the youngest of the hatchling laid by Vhaghar. It wouldn't be long before his mettle as a warrior and skill as a dragon rider would be put to the test. Shortly after bonding with Aegarax Jacaerys joined cause with Prince Daemon Targaryen and his sire The Sea Snake in Daemons war to claim the Step Stones...unfortunately Daemon didn't have the patience to wait for his allies and invaded the Stepstones with just a few hundred troops and Ceraxes.This proved to be folly as Daemon was quickly deflated and imprisoned. Now the way is clear for Jacaerys to succeed where is erstwhile and imperious cousin has failed, to make his mark upon the world and prove him self a worthy scion of both houses Velaryon and Targaryen..... My Goals: * Earn enough money adventuring to build up a strong enough force to challenge the kingdoms of the The Three Daughters for supremacy over the Stepstones. *Marry his Half-Sister Laena( Rider of Vhaghar) to lay the foundation for establishing House Velaryon as dragon riding house * Build up the Stepstones as trading empire *...... Through console commands i plan to marry Rhaenyra to Laenor, make Harwin her lover and see if she still produces"strong boys". I wanted to marry her to Daemon Eventually but if the game doesn't kill his wife off I'm to keep things the way they are. I'm going to marry her children into houses Stark and Tully , and ally her to the Vale. Once the apporoiate year arrives I'm going to start the Dance. I'll be allying Jacaerys to Rhaenyra ( she is the true heir) but I'm not going to do anything to influence the outcome of the dance.
