Greetings, I anonymous redditor have done a Bachelor of Science and then Honours in Physics however having now worked as a Laboratory Technician it turns out I hate Chemistry and I don't really care about semi-conductors and while theoretical physics is my love I'm in basic agreement with the string theorist critique that the field is dead and has been since 1970
So time to pivot, I'm wanting to do this course and break into the world of finance. The laboratory technician was one of those horrible jobs with endless turnover where you're stuck in place and doing overtime gets you nowhere so I don't particularly care about a horrible environment as my only real complaint was the lack of compensation.
Now the alternative these days for a person in my position seems to be tech and something like Masters in AI however I see the ads about 20 years of experience in a language 5 years old too much to think that's actually going to get me anything

2025.01.19 04:55 mk000011 How to perform Mr G&W's Nair consistently while running, using single joy con? I keep unintentionally executing Fair instead.
How do you do that on a single joy con?
I'd move the thumb pad to full sprint at the enemy > let go of the stick > press X & Y simultaneously > finger back on thumb pad to drift a bit before Nair is over.
However this is too many movement to execute for a single attack, and the finger movements is almost identical to Fair... So sometimes I accidentally execute G&W's Fair bomb instead. It sucks. What do ya'll do to execute fishbowl more consistently?

Tldr: Owner at my job brought 10 people during my closing shift when I was trying to clean and closed for the day. I had to clean around the kids and adults that were there. I left when my shift ending and informed the owner about what I didn't do since people were around. Now the owner told the manager I didn't clean or vacuum because there was a mess after I left. What do I do? I took pictures before I left and I'm thinking about writing an email explaining the situation. Recently I worked the closing shift at my job. I'm still kinda new working there. I've worked the closing shift a couple of times with other people but I recently closed by myself. This was the first time I closed alone and for some reason the owner came in with like 10 other people to install something. I work at a kid spot and they had maybe 4-5 kids with them. Only maybe 3 of the 10 were actually working so idk why everyone else was there.
I was supposed to clean up, vacuum the whole place and clean the play area. However the kids were playing and the owner's friends were eating in the food area. I literally couldn't start vacuum because the kids were making a mess. I tried my best to clean around these people and stayed 15 minutes over my shift. I told the owner that since people were still around, I cleaned things but if they messed it up, it wasn't me.
Now the owner told the manager that I didn't clean the play area fast enough, that the tables weren't wiped down, that were was crumbs and that the front area wasn't clean. What do I do? The owner literally brought 10 people, including kids, expected me to clean around them then was surprised that area weren't clean after I left, when they made the mess.
I'm starting to not like this job because of this but want to keep it for now. What do I do? I took pictures before I left because i felt like something like this would happen. I didn't take a lot o idk if it would help. I'm considering sending an email explaining this situation.

Having the whole system (era 300 and dual sub 4) is pretty fantastic to say the least. It hits hard, has great highs and mids and overall is just a solid package.
Dtsx not being provided definitely is a fucking downer, however theres a TON of content to make up for it and when you hear the system (especially from a 4k disc source) you’ll be in awe of what the system can provide.
I have tried many, many systems and I actually gave up the old arc system I had because I thought I could get way better ( this was 2 yrs ago) but over time I slowly realized with all the competitors and issues I have dealt with on other bars, it all led me back to sonos.
App issues have not been a problem (most of the issues regard grouping, music streaming from app, etc.. Home theater is rarely an issue for sonos).
What surprised me most was even hearing YouTubers Andrew Robinson and Neverenoughtech (both 990b/c fans and always recommend them over systems) both ranked Sonos above Samsung. Whether you agree or not is not the point. The point is the impression sonos had made on them to realign their thinking on what is a better system in their eyes.
Either way, just wanted to share my experience or if anyone was on the fence on getting the system it really is 100% worth it just for ease of use of the system and overall sound quality.

This is by design. The ones in power don't want us to know what's going on. They want our minds limited by ideology. They want us to hate people we don't even know for made up reasons.
Why? Because without all that, it'll become obvious we're mostly on the same page.
It's hilarious how economic issues are so divisive. They're just different ideas of how to allocate and move resources around, but people base their identities around them and hate each other over it. It's silly.
Ideologies are just boxes our minds are put into so we stay simple and don't constantly look for more depth and complexity in reality. If we do that, we stop listening to people who try to think for us so we stay poor and pacified.
It's like ideological division on the internet is the new bread and circus, but it's mostly circus.

Hi all. Were a family of 3 (40, 40, 8) living in our first home ppr $950kapprox value in an 'undesirable' melb suburb with poor high school options. We are fully offset and we can pay off the mortgage entirely by end of 2025 if we choose.
We have identified the high school we want our son to go to in four years time and the neighbourhood we want to live in to facilitate that but we don't feel ready to go yet. My son loves his current school and would be distraught to leave now. We have a friendly community and we are happy enough for now.
The new suburb is undoubtedly more desirable than ours and very likely to appreciate way quicker than this one so we've got a bit of fear that we'll be priced out if we wait until year 7. We are considering buying a home in the desired area, renting it out for 3-4 years until it's time for high school, then we'll sell our current house and move in.
The mortgage would be large during this time but household income is appx $250k and we could handle it for 3-4 years. Especially if it meant our next step was secured. There's also a couple of additional perks: no time pressure around moving, get some large trees established and small home upgrades done before we arrive.
Any thoughts on this idea? We are financially literate but certainly not experts in property or investment of any form. Thanks heaps.
