2025.01.19 06:10 WobblinSC2 Afterplace Review Post-Completion (Spoiler Free)
I was hunting around for a mobile RPG that had a bit of story, nice looking pixel art, and if I was lucky, a little charmā¦ and man this delivered 100%! It was EXACTLY what I was hoping for and more.
Gameplay (9/10): First off - let me just say this is a masterclass on how a mobile game should be designed. The movement, combat, and interactions all feel crisp and intuitiveā¦ and all with one thumb, in the palm of your hand, in portrait mode. I donāt just mean the game is playable in portrait, it felt very intentionally MADE to be played that way and Iām so glad I did, because it enhanced the overall experience (the architecture, towering bookshelves in the library, epic screen transitions, certain long-legged enemies, etc.). The only issue I experienced was during a few screens of combat at the end while a couple party members followed (which just meant I couldnāt dodge and dive all over the screen for a few minor fights, or I would interact with them instead of attacking).
Art/Visuals (10/10): Iām a sucker for good pixel art, and this is right up in the top tier with Hyper Light Drifter, Risk of Rain, and Chrono Trigger. The forest felt cozy and whimsical, but could quickly turn haunting and chaotic. As the environment went through sudden changes, the drastic shift in palette and tone fit perfectly to change the mood/ambience. Not to mention the unique character and enemy designs, and for those who make it to the endā¦ letās just say youāre in for a treat. Also, I loved that the title design slightly changed every time I opened the game.
Music / Sound Design (9.5/10): Iāve had the main forest theme looped in my head the entire time writing this all out. The music was excellent and took my emotions on an adventure through the entire game. I LOVE how a track would change slightly as you moved through different rooms, near certain characters or objects, or just moved through the world. Those dynamic changes really made the world come to life in a brilliant way. Some of the best moments though happens when the audio track suddenly stopsā¦
Story and Characters (10/10): You know that feeling when you finish a really good book, and thereās that feeling almost like a longing sadness as the journey youāve been on in this world with these characters comes to an end? I enjoyed that bittersweet feeling for a good amount of time while staring at āThe Endā on my screen. The only other thing Iāll say is that I never left town once without enjoying a bowl of Ramen!
Evan, you crushed this out of the park. I can tell how much love went into this game, and I just want to thank you. But also curse you, for making one of my top 10 games a mobile game.

THREE YEARS of hell- depression, panic attacks, brutal GI issues that go far, far beyond what IBS or SIBO should be capable of, now extreme weight loss, hair loss, anemia, and apparently now kidney damage and an as-of-yet-unidentified autoimmune disorder. all because some idiot gave me these pills for a WEEK. ladies and gentlemen i am officially at a complete loss.

I just got this printer and 2 AMS units a month or so ago. People who say "This won't affect me", maybe not now but it will at a point. I'm tired of companies and governments testing the water and slowly boiling it to see if we get used to it. It's like they saw the pandemic as a reset on everyone's ability to know between what's normal and what's shouldn't be accepted. I could keep using my app, which I love by the way to check prints and control my printer. You know what I also love? Companies not bending me over. Then bending me over further and further til they put my head in the ground.
Thanks for the awesome printer Bambu Lab, good luck making any profit because this printer is going offline and this customer is boycotting all your products from here on out.
I urge others to do the same. While they can "Announce" a firmware update on a whim, we all need to be responsible in our response to it. A response in which will cause them financial heartache, the only heartache a company knows to reverse its decision.

Has anyone had any order issues with Bestitched Needlepoint? I ordered a canvas during market on 9/28. They called me to get additional information and to charge my card and shared my canvas would be in quickly, likely by November but December 1st at the latest and I could stitch it for Christmas. They called a second time asking the same card info and I had shared I already provided it. They chalked it up to a mess up on their end. Now weāre in January and I canāt get a response from them. I emailed 12/28 and again Tuesday. I see them on social media promoting sales but yet they canāt respond to emails? I regret purchasing from them. I only did it because they were having a sale for market and had listed the canvas I had my eyes on. Iām so frustrated that I bought it and donāt have a clue when I will get it. I wish I could cancel at this point but donāt know how I could do that.
