I feel like every game I play I always chose the same thing whether it be civics, government types, origins etc.
A few examples I always seem to pick masterful crafters, psionic and the under one rule orgin. I find the three of them just a most have like masterful crafters is and always will be an amazing civic and I implore you to tell me otherwise. Psionic well it’s just an overall amazing tradition I feel like it doesn’t require a whole lot of managing with amazing Perks for all play styles. And lastly under one rule. Yeah I know it’s not amazing it’s not even really good it’s just fun to be honest

I'm reupholstering a (shitty, destroyed) faux leather couch with fabric and also just generally tightening things up in the frame, and while I'm taking the whole thing apart anyways, I was wondering if there's some downside to just replacing the attached cushions entirely. I hate them. Impossible to clean, and if my cat gets too enthusiastic with one cushion I can't easily replace the cover. Is there some structural reason not to do this? Any glaring issues I'm missing? (I am an experienced sewer and would be making my own covers for separate cushions.)

Hi,
I'm an international master's student here, decided to do it as a career break. I was low key excited about being in a learning environment again, and I thought it'd do me some good...turns out I couldn't have been far off. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the class material and applying it in work but on my own terms. The class experience is miserable, it seems like no one wants to be there, a complete lack of energy.
It started to get to me recently. The class is split to cliques by nationality - I don't fit in any because no one is from my region/country. I'm disappointed we're nearing graduation, and I have no one to interact with in class. I've gone out of my way to start convos, but it's not being reciprocated, sometimes people tell me off for even sitting next to them in class (It's for my friends). I'm self funded and less well off than the others, some stopped talking to me entirely after hearing what accommodation hall is. The worst part is now we have an upcoming graduation project in groups, and I've literally had to beg to get in any (still don't have one), It's so humiliating. I have British friends off uni, don't think I'm that horrible.
The assessment grading feels arbitrary, and I'm being tanked without being given much feedback to work with, it's very frustrating. I'm reaching out when semester starts but I feel sufficient feedback should be the norm.
Currently, I've distanced myself further from class and uni, I treat it like a job - I go as needed and go home right after. But this is not really what I wanted for me, so it feels really demotivating. I want to feel better by hearing out from other people with a similar experience, how do you pivot from this?
PS: This is a Russell Group uni, dk if it matters.

I’m a 14M almost 15 and my family life is shit my mom and dad are drug addicts and my dad is an alcoholic he comes home drunk if he’s not out with us on weekends. My mom and dad always have fought infront of me and my two other siblings so I’ve gotten used to it but sometimes they take things too far like when they threaten to kill each other when in the car their favorite way to do this is speed up and either hit another car or run the car off the rode but i usually stop them. I have a good relationship with them or at least that’s what everyone else thinks my relationship with them couldn’t be any worse we argue daily the take their anger out on me my mom likes to hit me when she’s angry and on multiple occasions throwing things at me and calling me a mistake. My friends are no better they all fucking suck and make fun of me daily I’m the joke of our friend group and most of the school. And I just want to leave all of this behind so I’m running away soon. My girlfriend (16 F almost 17) said I could go live with her she lives a few states away from me so I couldn’t be that far so once I get enough money I’m outta here I don’t know how much money is “enough” so I’ll do some planning later. I guess the whole reason I’m posting this is because I don’t want to be the person that runs away for a stupid reason so is the reason I have valid I mean I think it is and I’m still gonna do it.

So, Squid Game is a massive hit and that means it's going to attract a large quantity of viewers. This also means that a lot of people want to watch the show so they can keep up in water cooler conversations or just discussions with their friends and social circle. Now, due to the nature of the show, you have a lot of people who are just watching it as a game show. It's the games and nothing but the games. These people don't care about the acting, the writing, the direction, characters. It's nothing but a spectacle. I have a lot of "average consumer" when it comes to gaming, movies, and shows. It gives me a lot of perspective on things. They don't dig into the show like you guys might. A lot of average consumers will watch Squid Game in English, it means they objectively don't care about the acting. That's not a hot take, that's just a fact. They will lower the quality of the show just to not have to read the subtitles.
Even on here, not everyone is understanding what they're watching and you guys are arguably the most "obsessed" group of fans that the show has. So if you have people on here missing things, imagine the average viewer. You have people skipping the first two episodes because they want to dive right into the spectacle. And I have even more perspective when it comes to younger audiences due to younger siblings of our friends. They're all pure spectacle viewers. Fortnite and COD are doing Squid Game events (which goes against the message of the show, but a lot of people don't realise it), so it's an exciting time for younger people.
There's a reason why a show like Squid Game and a movie like Parasite will be the only Korean media products that some people will ever consume. There's a reason why La La Land is the only musical that some people will ever be attracted to or enjoy. There's a reason why Spider-Verse is about as far as some people will go with animated media.
I wouldn't blame these guys too much, I think there are a few people on here who behave just as cringey at times when it comes to things like character obsession.

I’m currently working as a junior dev of a low code platform earning around 36000 and almost 3 years na ako. i’m really struggling with my finances and on top of that low yung market nung platform na to sa pinas plus non-compete clause ng contract. I’ve been trying to apply with other low-code platforms and other SQL related jobs since acquired knowledge ko siya. Recently I was offered 70k for a tech support analyst role focused on SQL and API support. I accepted the offer, pero conflicted parin ako hanggang ngayon kung right decision kase want ko parin talaga mag dev but I need to have the finances ASAP. Ang main dilemma ko siguro dito is if companies will still take their chances on me or accept me in a dev position in the future with the same salary or higher offered to me which is 70k, with almost 3 years experience and coming from a support role.
PS while working as a support, I will still study other tech stack mainly focused on server side languages and will try to maintain my current certifications and get new ones.
