2025.01.19 08:10 Tangerinetuesday I love this game.
So I finished a neutral run by betraying the guardner because I couldn't bring myself to actually kill anyone else in the game and I abandoned to actually carry any type of bullets that would do actual damage. I'm not sure if this counts as pacifist or not as I didn't get any EXP and don't want to know as of now. I also started a genocide run and am now stuck on Zenith although that is because it was 2 am when I got there.
I absolutely love this game. I can't help but compare it to Undertale and it almost feels like every area fully owns its theme. In my headcanon that's because monsters weren't ready to leave the underground just yet while in Undertale the whole game felt more liminal because all they needed was one more soul. Snowdin truly feels like it's Christmas every day of the year while in UT they just kept the tree. Steamworks felt a lot more permanent compared to the core at least while it was operational and now it's abandoned instead of recycled. The puzzles throughout the whole game feel a lot more involved. And, of course, The Wild East!!!
I will be honest I was somewhat disappointed seeing a couple threads on here complaining about El Bailador because, like, did yall forget about Shyren? Oh and the amount of parallels between Starlo and Mettaton was not subtle at all. I kind of wish we got more backstory on the rest of the feisty five but all we really get is just some minor info on Moray. Oh and hot take: Ceroba's genocide fight isn't that hard. She only has 1 really annoying attack but beyond that just don't get hit ; 3
One more detail I really enjoyed is how much lore the mega flowey battle gave. In Undertale the neutral runs don't feel as impactful to the story you just get the consequences of that run, which is the whole doing everything that Flowey talks about in the genocide monologue I guess, but in yellow we get a ton of backstory which I enjoyed. Also one detail I also liked is Clover gaining 7 LV when Axis admits to killing a human. I like to think this is just how many years it took the dev team to figure out how to give 7 LV to the players worth of content before deciding on this. It's probably actually about judgement and how brutally the Steamworks bots were maimed but idk.
Overall, I love this game. It may not be as detailed as UT and potentially lacking some of the charm that it had but I still found it just as hard to hit Mertlet four times as killing papyrus or glad dummy. Robbing MO then seeing him turn to the pool of acid had me teary eyed and the 2 seconds into took for the Ray to appear were the longest 2 seconds of my entire playthrough. I always turned my nose up at fan games because I assumed they weren't "authentic" but this has definitely changed my perspective and my only regret is that it took me this long to realize it.

Is there any means to identify your perks in the match loading screen or quickly at match start? I've been struggling trying to understand my builds and really hate the dynamic of taking a 30 sec to 1 min pause to read my perks at the match start.
Especially when it feels like I'm wasting precious time or getting bull rushed by the killer.
Any tips or thoughts on suggestions for future iterations of Chaos Shuffle are welcome.

Some friends and me want to do a short roadtrip through East Canada, since we only have 12 days it’ll probably not be enough to venture much further than the cities mentioned above (ie also not New Brunwsick/Nova Scotia etc where I understood all the great hikes are).
Given the early time where I assume it may still be cold and possibly snowy, are there any must-do hikes with scenic views/landscapes (hobby landscape photographer) around the cities / between them?

A few of my friends are visiting in March-April. They want to take this walking tours but the price seems a bit too much. But I won't claim that I am someone who knows every inch of Kolkata, didn't grow up here neither spent enough time. So maybe the prices are justified and I am just not aware of it.
Note: They are non-Indians, so the price doesn't really seem that weird to them.
