So I’ve had my pc a while and it will be getting an upgrade but before I do that I wanted to upgrade my gpu. Currently running an MSI 2070 super. I play games at 3440x1440p but this is also my main home office pc.
I used to have the i5-9500k but was noticing it was stuffing particularly in Battlefield 2042. When I swapped it I noticed far less jitters / stuttering.
Also have 16gb of ram and mostly run everything of an M.2 through an ROG strix mobo. Just curious on people’s thoughts? Appreciate some games will be more one way than the other.

I have an Aero 13 Ryzen 5 5600u 16GB 512GB dual boot (Win10, Ubuntu22.04).
Its 3+ yrs old so battery is around 60-70% only. Last week I had an urgent travel and left it home. Battery got depleted fully and wont' charge backup.
I can't boot into desktop or console in any of the OS. PC resets after selecting OS from bootmenu and initial boot messages.
On windows I can get recovery console. On Ubuntu it resets after the messages. Even live distros don't boot past the initial messages

I need some advice. It’s been six years since my girlfriend and I broke up, and I still can’t seem to move on.
Quick backstory: She was my childhood crush, and we ended things mostly because of family drama. My parents have always had a rocky relationship, and growing up around that really messed with how I handle serious relationships. I feel like I keep sabotaging things when they start getting real.
Even after all this time, I can’t stop thinking about her. I’ve tried dating, but nothing ever clicks like it did with her. Life just feels… empty without her.
We still meet up occasionally since we live in the same city, and it’s usually around the holidays. We have this little tradition of walking around and feeding stray dogs. Most of the time, she’s distant and doesn’t text much. But then we’ll have moments like the other day when we spent the whole day shopping together. We ended up holding hands, and she even made me rest my head in her lap. It felt like old times, and I loved it—but now I think it just gave me false hope.
Here’s the kicker: she’s planning to get married soon. She’s on shaadi.com looking for matches, and while we were out, I saw a guy’s name saved on her phone and tied to her food delivery app. It was like a slap in the face. She’s moving on, and I’m just stuck here, unable to let go.
I keep beating myself up for ruining things. If I could go back, I’d do it all differently. But now I don’t know how to move forward. Am I just going to feel like this forever?
Any advice would mean a lot.

2025.01.19 11:20 Jybe-ho A vignette I wrote for my Sci-fi fantasy Gods of the Black
I've been world building for this story for hot minute know and I have started righting little vignettes to help me flesh out some of the details of the setting. In this case I got in some character names that I hadn't picked out yet and the idea of individual ship captains being able to paint their own specific liveries on their ships, all of which I had not had in the plan beforehand. plot outline for the whole story here
I do welcome critique of my prose, I of all people should know how much more room I have to improve in that area lol. and also, if you have any questions about the setting, culture, religion, technology ect. please ask, questions like those help me flesh things out
Cassandra looked out over the launching fields. Colorful obelisks jutted from the ground, each one a cruiser in the Talmainec fleet, preparing to join the larger battleships already in orbit. Each one was tall and thin, turrets and antennae jutting from their sides. Sunlight filtered through a thick layer of clouds, an ever present feature of her home world of Akko, casting the dull shadows of the cruisers across the ground.
They all towered above her, their pinnacles 1600 feet above her position on a palace balcony. She watched as ornithopters, chariots for the high priests of Baalb, lighted on top of every cruiser letting the priest give final counsel to the individual cleric aboard every ship, preparing them for their trip across the black. The cold afternoon wind ruffled Cassandra's own priestly robes. Red silk marking her as a Priestess of Ashra.
She tried to pick out which ship Ezra, her brother in law, would be on. Each ship was marked with the livery of its captain. She recognized some, like the teal and red of a handsome young captain who's commissioning she had officiated. All bore the Mark of the blind angel, a stylized sphinx with outstretched wings, a flaming sword and bandaged head, the mark of her father the Prince of Akko.
Cassandra's attention was drawn by a cruiser lifting off, leaving behind a column of steam condensing in its wake. A moment later the thunderous sound of its engines reached her. The sharp prow of the cruiser praised the thick clouds. Another followed rising on its own column of steam. Cassandra tried to look into the light of its engines only to be forced to avert her gaze from their intensity, brighter than the sun above the clouds. Finally, she saw the red and white of Ezra's ship ascending into the sky.
She thought of her sister Batya, who would also be aboard. Another person might worry for the safety of their sister aboard a warship headed for battle, but Crisadra and Batya had both been trained from an early age by their mother, their political blades just as honed as their skills with steel ones. Instead, her mind was occupied by Batya’s invitation to go with them, to see the front with the Isuwa. Cassandra was still young, only in her mid-twenties, and the adventure of it called to her.
On the other hand, she was a priestess of Ashra and had duties to fulfill here on Akko even if she knew that as the daughter of the prince, she had a degree of freedom not often given to priestesses of her rank, a liberty that she avoided using. Still there were uses for a Priestess in war. Rights to be performed, auguries to be taken and sacrifices to the gods to be made. Many of the Priests of Baalb she had seen earlier flying between the crusades would be leaving with them. In the end it was her sense of adventure that one out over her sense of propriety, though she told herself that it was only right that she leave to aid in the war.

i just pierced my helix! i already had two piercing in my lobes, but i’ve wanted more piercings forever and this is the first of many more additions. i just got the piercing done today but in all of my excitement i’ve started look for high quality flat backs for the future. i would also love some to wear in my lobes so that i can keep them in at night. any suggestions for high quality flat backs that won’t break the bank? if it’s unrealistic to find super affordable but nice flat backs that’s totally understandable and it’s 100% worth it to pay for quality, i just figured i would ask more experienced people! thanks!!! also after some brief scrolling, i just wanted to say that all of your ears are incredibly awesome. i know my piercings are pretty tame but i’m really hyped to be able to be a small part of such an awesome community!

 | Hi people! I currently have a 180 juwel rio with a discus, 11 neon, 6 cory and 3 gymno. As for plants i decided to put a limnophila sessiliflora (that grew as a bush, so I decided to cut part of it and place the cutted parts in the back of the tank), a pogostemon in the mid part and a cryptocoryne in the right part. I am having a little problem with some kind of algae that are growing on the back and on my rocks (I do 6 hours of light rn). I started to notice some kind of biofilm on the surface, so I decided to buy a skimmer. My current values are: ( in mg/L)
I notices that my cryptocoryne was slightly suffering from some algae growing on its leaves so i put a phisical barrier between the plant and the light (which i am not too proud of, but it’s temporary). Next to the crypto i am planning to put some anubias and a smaller crypto that should grow more low profile. In that way i assume that those plants will be more protected by the bigger crypto form the direct light. Another important point —> i do not have a fertile substrate. All I have is black sand on the front and a white gravel in the back. QUESTIONS -Are the plants i decided to put in here ok with the general condition of the aquarium? -Are my values ok for the fishes?

Évek óta magas pulzussal és alacsony vérnyomással küzdök. 3 éve hirtelen eszméletemet vesztettem, nagyjából 5x egymás után estem össze, 10 percen belül. Amikor észnél is voltam látni nem láttam, csak hallottam. Mentősök csesztek rá bevinni, stresszre fogták. Fél éves orvoshoz járás után megállapították hogy magas a pulzusom. Okát nem tudták megmondani. Nemrég a semmiből megint megtörtént. Pár óra alvás után arra ébredtem hogy kiugrik a szivem, kb 15 másodpercen belül már eszméletlen voltam. Mostani esetnél bevitt a mentő. Alacsony volt a kálium szintem, ami a szívproblémásoknál nagyobb gond azt mondták. Tegnap este pedig azt vettem észre hogy plusz dobbanások vannak és éjjel megint arra ébredtem hogy magas a pulzusom, csak szerencsére most nem estem össze.
