I am in a wrestling club training from monday go friday,wednesday and Friday i have and extra session so 2 for the day i have been trying to get the most practice all my wrestling club is in a sport school or almost all and they have 2 practises everyday i think about joining it but that is a though imma have to think about.How do i improove as a wrestler i have been improving like ik teqniques but how do you actually use them i started making playlists on youtube where different wrestlers teach like jordan buroughs kyle snyder magomed ramazanov and many more.Could you give me tips on what to do to improove faster and maybe even how to get stronger and faster for wrestling

Religious texts are not only open to literalist interpretations. American Christian extremists may think that but it's very possible to read these stories as metaphoric or mythological and not as the accounts of events that really happened like it's the evening news. Take as an example the story of the flood.
I always found the idea of the story of the flood very interesting and relatable in a way. It's the human desire to start over again. To wipe it all off and try again. The hope that if only people were given a second chance they maybe could do better. But they don't and they won't. The flood does not help. In the Bible it does not make us better people at all. Starting over again means we just end up where we used to be. With a cruel and unjust world of our own making. In the Bible this idea gets rounded off so to speak with the arrival of Jesus and his teachings. Jesus says reform yourself, practice self-giving love, love others, you are doomed to this unjust world unless you make it better by acting better. Not even a flood that wipes off all humanity can hope to make the world better, but you can hope to make the world better.
It is an idea seen in literature and in poetry too. What would it have been if I were given the chance to start over? If I knew what I know now, surely I would do better. This gets explored in the book One Hundred Years of Solitude for example where it rains for years without stopping. But the rain (spoiler) does not help make things better. When it stops raining people resume right where they were before. There's even a character who says he will do somthing when it stops raining. And people just wait it out. They survive and move on. History moves on. it was just another tragedy like all other tragedies. They don't make sense but after they've happened we must live with them.
Thus, these texts had a more complex function than a fable with a practical lesson at the end. They were also more complex than an account of the natural world as understood by people back then. It is more about making *sense* of the world. There are practical lessons there, of course, but the Bible is also a mystical work. In the sense of mysticism and in the sense of a certain philosophy.It's also a work about spiritual experience and practice. About that side of the human brain that wonders if there isn't more to this whole show than there seems to be. The part of our brain that experiences things like the sublime, meditation, contemplation, art and poetry as opposed to critical thought and discernment. And the experience of poetry in humans, even if mapped by physical laws, does not lose its power.
We may dismiss this as an ancient crutch for people who could not bare to face the reality of a senseless world but this is not so simple. In some circles a type of positive nihilsm is popular these days. There is no point to the universe, no sense in our existance but we have eachother and let's have fun while we have this one chance on Earth. So be nice. But this popular nihilsm is also an act of making sense and giving meaning to the world. Even if we base this meaning on a "nothing" we are still engaged in an act of ordering and judging (What is a good thing to do? What is a bad thing to do?).
We may also point to the reality of Christianity. First, people who believe that evolution is not real or who believe that the Earth is 6000 years old. I think we all agree here that these people are not to be taken too seriously. Those are easily proven factual errors. The Bible does not demand that you believe in a 6000 year old Earth either. Second, the demand of Jesus to believe in him and to trust in him. This is a part of Christian faith and has been from the start. So we could say "Well, I don't believe that this actually happened." But here I also think something more complex is going on. That there is still space for a metaphoric and also a practical reading. We are asked to believe and to trust, to enter into a state of being that allows us to live according to the practical lessons of the Bible. In trusting in Jesus we renounce metaphysical speculation and the infinite and ever-present question of "why should I do good at all?" and are just invited to do it anyway. In this way it's not much different from today's positive nihilism. Why should I be good when there's no meaning in existance? Well, just because being good is good to us humans, don't worry about it. Why should I be good when none of the Bible is proven and when it is sometimes incoherent? Just trust that it somehow makes sense, don't worry about it and be good.
The only advantage the Bible can claim to have here is that it is more complex and thus more rich in meaning in its stories as opposed to an abstract philosophy can be.
Disclaimer: Other discussions about atrocities commited in the name of religion are not relevant here. I'm not looking to talk about that here. Humans are capable of doing terrible things to eachother and are very good at finding excuses for it. It happens every day. With or without a god we've always managed to justify atrocity. I do not think religion is special here. Just another excuse.

hey everyone! just need some advice, my mother in anger went to my doctor and told him to stop my medication, i'm not sure exactly what she told him or the specifics of the conversation because she refuses to tell me, but i have told my doctor that i don't want her talking about anything to do with me in the past and it is written in my files to not allow her to talk to any of the doctors about me. she still managed to have a whole conversation about my medication and to tell him to take it off of me. she believes it's making me lazy, when in fact it's not - it's just making me tired. i know she has lied to him in the past to try get my meds taken off of me, she once told him i was stealing her medication. her meds are all heart medicine so im not sure why on earth i'd steal those but hey ho. but my doctor wants to see me face to face tomorrow to talk about it before he issues me anymore on tuesday (tuesday is when i pick them up & he wants to see me on the monday) is this a bad sign? is he going to take them off of me? the one good thing is she told me his words were "i'm not going to issue her anymore until i speak with her" to me that seems like he has no intention of stopping them, he just wants to talk. i'm just anxious about this as without those meds i will be in a very dark pit of depression. as doctors do you think with the way he's going with things it seems as though this is a bad sign for me or does he simply just want to get my side on things before giving me more? thanks!
