2025.01.19 12:11 Dragonofdojima21 For anyone intrigued about how the infected have evolved I think you should check out or read up on the game “days gone”
So after all the wonder of how the infected are alive still after all this time and how they got around the starving from the original I think this game might give us some insight and that it has been done before and was a cool take
Basically the infected in this game are still classed as living much like the rage victims are They aren’t dead but just infected and altered.
The infected in this game are known to eat human flesh but also hunt animals and even eat berries and plants to get at least some sort of sustenance enough to stay alive,
Also drinking from nearby rivers, don’t recall from my time playing it but if you sometimes walk past the rivers in game you might seen one bent down drinking from it.
They are even mentioned to still expel the waste that the food and water will make and are mentioned to smell like literally shit and piss all the time due to them probably not really having bathroom etiquette so just go in their pants all the time, also the sort of sleep in nests like caves and stuff or buildings smell like toilets due to this.
After remembering about this games infected it made me wonder if that’s the evolution angle they used for the rage virus, where they adapted so well to the point they now will periodically go and drink form a nearby water source and also eat small animals and maybe local fruits etc.
I know a bunch of us have already assumed that they must have evolved to eat and drink but I think that it’s cool when you look at how this game did the infected and shows that it has been done before and it was a cool idea in my opinion
Also not sure if this take has been mentioned before on here I’m fairly new to the sub so apologies if anyone has brought this up before.

Can't bear to part with my friend, how should I choose I am a foundation student at UNSW, and I am currently facing the choice of whether to go to the University of Melbourne for my undergraduate studies or stay in Sydney. Many people have told me that the academic atmosphere at the University of Melbourne is better than at UNSW, and I personally don't really want to pursue job-oriented learning. So, the University of Melbourne might be more suitable for me academically. However, over the past year, I have made new friends in Sydney and have gradually settled down. I love Sydney's beaches and its sunshine. I really enjoy surfing and have found friends with similar interests. I am very reluctant to part with my friends in Sydney. I don't want to be separated from them. What do you all think? This is really painful. 😖

2025.01.19 12:11 FreeBirdy00 Should I kickstart my tech journey by learning webdev or should I find a better niche and focus on it only ?
So I am a high-schooler with free hours and an interest in computers so I decided to learn how to program and build cool stuff. I also want to have a career in this so I think it's best to do this, since I am also enjoying it. My main two objectives with this goal are -
- To sink myself deep into technology and computers and programming as I find them interesting and then find cool things to work on and build
- To be able to support myself financially as early as I can and have a little side income
- Should I drop webdev and instead focus on picking up a niche like cloud computing, cybersecurity, Web3 etc and then focus on getting better at that ?
- I am worried that jumping right onto things like cybersec and stuff might become difficult for me to handle and process and webdev can give me a foundation upon which I can build and be better in these niche so I should complete that first. Am I right in thinking this ?

First - please, no suggestions for Excel, Google Sheets, or pencil & paper.
Just started looking to find a basic scheduling app for 4-5 employees. Maybe up to 10 eventually.
We have a strong preference for something that shows a week/month view with some type of assignable color-coding.
A bonus would be if it allows scheduling based on availability, so that if an employee can't work Thursdays and Fridays, it can be added to their profile & they can't be scheduled on those days.
No hour tracking needed. Messaging would be good if it can be sent to alert employees if a change has been made that affects them.
Any suggestions appreciated!
