2025.01.19 14:24 Temporary_Resident45 Newbie question - hitting irl game stores
Hello, quick question, genuinely noobish q so please bare with me. I started playing Arena like a month ago, and generally am at a mid silver kind of level, I win 2/3rds of my unranked matches and maybe a third of my ranked ones.
I haven't been playing with like a dEcK lIsT but just cards I like that have cool synergy, and also hopefully cards that are not that specifically unpleasant type of annoying to play against. I've done that, and played the Foundations Beginner box (basically a bunch of jumpstart packs that are standard legal) at home with my boyfriend and that's it/also all I own in cardboard.
Now the question: I'd love to go to my local game store and play, but obviously my handful of mythic rares in my Arena deck wouldn't be there, on account of I don't want to spend a ton of money on something I'm not sure I like irl... but only because he never tried it.. if I just mix up my standard legal beginner box into something like my Arena White Green deck, will I be laughed out of the place? There's say, some Ajanis Pridemate in there but certainly no Bristly Bills, if that makes sense... Also I can see people on this sub being like ha ha Plat is a breeze to get to each month, and I obviously love that for you, but if I find Silver a fun challenge and don't wish to learn my deck lists (I'd be willing to invest in getting my cardboard sets as buff as my Arena sets but only if playing irl is fun), is it going to be embarrassing trying to play magic IRL? I am sure it depends on the game store but as a woman in these spaces I always feel a bit on edge without the intel, and the jump from an app on my iPad to spending money and going against people in real life, any thoughts would be much appreciated! It all feels a bit chicken and egg. I also feel like maybe the answer to some of my nerves is chill out on getting good in standard and just get into commander but since you can't approximate that in the app idk if that's my jam.

hii! i’m a new fan and i just listened to preachers daughter for the first time yesterday (and i haven’t listened to any other music by ethel/hayden) yet. in this subreddit i saw a long analysis for the whole album and i read it while listening to the album (which helped so much)!

I am 17 years old, currently in my final year of secondary school. I have all of my countries junior coaching licences and will be completing the first senior licence soon. I coach u10s aswell as having started and managed my schools u17 team this year. Next year I will be taking a gap year where I hope to complete the uefa c and possibly b, aswell as coaching the same u10s, returning to my school to coach 2 age groups and possibly taking an u16 team at the local club. I am just wondering what careers in management look like and whether it's any way possible. If anyone has experience or knowledge of someone who's entered into management without having played professionally like many do, all is welcomed.

Hello,
My dad passed away just over a year ago. I received a portion his thrift savings plan, a retirement plan through his government agency job. I chose to not take the lump sum and put it into an inherited IRA (to avoid a 20% hit). It went in at about $75,000 and is currently just over $79,000 after nearly 6 months. My portion of the plan has never been taxed as contributions from my dad were pre tax.
My wife and I are looking to offload some debt and are considering cashing out the IRA. My question is what tax implications am I looking at? My wife makes about $110,000 and I make about $84,000. Should i withhold a certain percentage to avoid a huge tax bill next year? Or is this different because the money is an inheritance? We are in Illinois and he was 71 when he died. He never withdrew any money from it.

The title says it all, I don't know which to choose. That being said my friends kept telling me that the R1M will bleed my wallet for maintenance and that i should go for the BMW. Now, my dream bike is an R1M with SC Project exhaust. I just don't know anything about any one who have used the R1M because it is rare from where i come from and i hate the BMW for it being such a common bike that everyone uses. Id really appreciate any kind of feedback on the matter. My current bike YZF R6 2020.

I’m currently watching Season 2. I hope that after Bonang watched it back, she realized Swanky completely fabricated a story that was far from what Luis actually said. Hopefully, they spoke and squashed their beef.
I didn’t watch Season 1 and jumped straight into the second…and I don’t like Swanky. I don’t blame Bonang for acting the way she did—I’d be mad too if I were a celeb with a reputation to protect, and someone who forgot to book my accommodation (and there was none left) for a event he invited me to, was going around claiming I had to leave because I didn’t have flowers in my room. Poor Luis.
