Gratitude makes us more resilient: It has been found to help people recover from traumatic events, including Vietnam War veterans with PTSD, victims of natural disasters, and people living under violent, political conflict. Gratitude strengthens relationships: It makes us feel closer and more committed to friends and romantic partners. Practicing gratitude magnifies positive feelings more than it reduces negative feelings. If it was just positive thinking, or just a form of denial, you’d experience no negative thoughts or feelings when you’re keeping a gratitude journal, for instance. But, in fact, people do. So gratitude isn’t just a nice, warm, fuzzy feeling. But as we all know, gratitude can be elusive, and resentment and entitlement have a way of creeping in. Much of the excellent gratitude research conducted over the past 20 years has therefore focused on what people can do to experience more of this healthy, productive emotion. Most research on gratitude is aimed at trying to promote it. In considering the possible evolutionary functions of gratitude, it is reasonable to ask whether gratitude evolved specifically in humans, or whether it evolved long ago in a common primate ancestor. One way to tackle this question is to search for evidence of gratitude in our current primate cousins. Gratitude around the world. College of Charleston researchers James B. Hittner and Calvin D. Widholm collected 26 studies of gratitude and loneliness involving nearly 10,000 people around the world—from the U.S. to India to Portugal to Nigeria. Participants averaged 35 years old but largely ranged from college-aged to middle-aged adults. Gratitude also goes against our need to feel in control of our environment. Sometimes with gratitude you just have to accept life as it is and be grateful for what you have. Finally, gratitude contradicts the “just-world” hypothesis, which says that we get what we deserve in life. Good things happen to good people, bad things happen to bad ... Loyola University psychologist Fred Bryant finds that savoring positive experiences makes them stickier in your brain, and increases their benefits to your psyche—and the key, he argues, is expressing gratitude for the experience. That’s one of the ways appreciation and gratitude go hand in hand. Robert Emmons, perhaps the world’s leading scientific expert on gratitude, argues that gratitude has two key components, which he describes in a Greater Good essay, “Why Gratitude Is Good.” “First,” he writes, “it’s an affirmation of goodness. We affirm that there are good things in the world, gifts and benefits we’ve received.” In the ... This suggests that gratitude writing can be beneficial not just for healthy, well-adjusted individuals, but also for those who struggle with mental health concerns. In fact, it seems, practicing gratitude on top of receiving psychological counseling carries greater benefits than counseling alone, even when that gratitude practice is brief. Gratitude is relevant to clinical psychology due to (a) strong explanatory power in understanding well-being, and (b) the potential of improving well-being through fostering gratitude with simple exercises.

I’m in Dubai, so I’ve been mulling this loss all day. It still hurts too much. Last year Goff didn’t cost against the niners but tonight he did, and the defence of course. And those picks made us play uncontrolled, frantic and panicky football because it is of course the playoffs. Jamo should never have been put in a position to make a decision with ball in hand. Goff might have had his head rattled but I think the truth is that the offence has needed to be better than perfect every week with the defensive injuries, and tonight they just weren’t.
But holy shit. It’s been too fun watching the lions win 15 games. And not just winning - blowing the cowboys out. Throwing 5 picks and still beating Houston at home. Not dropping an NFC North game. And the plays! This offence has been incredible to watch and some of our defence has been fantastic trying to hold things together - looking at you Reader, Campbell, Branch and Kerby.
Man do I wish it wasn’t over. But I think the best part of our shift in culture is we’re not a one and done. I think BH and MCDC has our future in mind for constant success and that is a comforting thought.
I hated today. But I loved this season. Love these Lions!

I am seeing a lot of reels calling people who date specifically girls sexist slurs, which is in line with india getting more conservative and anti dating, but since its human nature to fall in love no culture can prevent it only punish the people who date anyway my point is Why Asian conservatives are so anti dating and oppose premarital sex compared to Conservative Europe and Africa ( am I right about Africa though please correct me since what i have seen on internet they openly date mostly).
I have another concern, the marriage age in india has significantly gone up but the Beliefs around marriage have remained the same, so earlier most marraiges were child marriages and the anti dating stance might some what be be right since literal kids were getting married , but now the same social rules are being applied to 20 or 30 years olds.
Which means Indians are going to remain lonely for a lot longer period of time, because having a partner for a adult is having a parent for a young child, because the relationship is extremely close, friendship cannot meet this need.
Don’t you think it will have severe mental health effects in Indian youth? There is extreme hatred and fear of the other gender being created in the minds of youth when they have barely interacted with the other gender, which will further ruin their relationship quality once they get married and then they will be alone in their marital relationship despite having a partner.
Some people might supress their feelings so much that they unable to feel the love of their partner or to love their partner due to social stigma which again will deteriote their relationship quality once they get married.
How will india solve this lonliness problem

Its name is the starved,its campaign takes place a little after Saint,food is scarce in the world so the starved only needs three food pips to survive and doesn’t save any for the next cycle,that may seem good however as its name suggests,it’s always starving (this gives you the starving debuffs such as slower movement,getting randomly stunned etc) it is able to throw spears just not very well as it doesn’t have much strength or energy due to its weak and frail body,to help use spears more affectively it uses its long thin tail to hold and throw spears with much more power,this also works for other items (rocks,grenades etc) also if you try to starve cycle you die immediately,your goal is to meet enough echos to ascend (you start at 2 karma like Saint) five pebbles and looks to the moon are unavailable (in this campaign they were both ascended by Saint)

I played ton of NG assimilate a long time ago and really enjoyed. I took a break from the game for a year and a half or so and now looks to get back into the game. I was looking to play some NG again and noticed that I have collected all the NG cultist cards, and I loved their art style along with the whole grand play sort of scenario. I looked up some cultist deck lists online but I have discovered that everyone hates cultists very much for some reason.
