So I'm friends with my coworker, we'll call him A. I'm his manager but that didn't stop us from getting close and creating a true friendship in and out of the workplace. We've been friends for over a year and attached at the hip. If you see A, you see me! Recently a new girl started at our job, she is also his manager. The same thing happens with her, we all get close and are friends in and outside of the workplace. Well 3 months ago I found out they've been hooking up. I was okay with it as long as I didn't get involved because I love my friend and he was very excited to find love after not having it for a long time. I did my best to keep his secret and support him when things got rocky between them. Now here's the bad part.. 2 weeks ago my boss came to me and told me she knew they were in a relationship. She told me someone reported to her that they overheard A and I talking about the details of their relationship while at work.. Which we definitely did. I was told because I didn't report it I would be at risk of losing my job. I also had to give a statement saying what I witnessed of their relationship, which wasn't much but enough to confirm that more than a friendship had been going on. Ultimately they were both terminated. Now A is mad at me, talking crap about me, and saying I betrayed him. This hurts because I really did try my best to support him. I kept secrets, lied, and put my job at risk for our friendship. This job is the reason I can afford to live, so am I the asshole for putting my job over my friendship?

I am in the process of insulating my rim joists. Right now I am putting 2 inch foam board with an R value of 10.
My question is should I double up the 2 inch foam board to get an R value of about 20. This would bring the foam board flush with the sill on the inside of the house.
I don’t know if there’s any benefit in allowing some of the subfloor to be in air contact with the basement. This is an unfinished basement.

2025.01.19 15:04 classicwfl Waiting for my next doc appt to tell him about my new issues
This is a partial rant about the US healthcare system.
So, for the past few days I've been dealing with numbness & pins/needles in multiple places; hands and feet are almost constant, but the feet also covers good chunks of my legs, too (at least my calves). A spot on my back (left shoulder blade area) and the back of my head also have issues randomly throughout the day (most commonly when I soak myself in a hot bath, which is an almost daily thing to help with my pain).. And now I have an issue with my right nostril feeling weird.
Of course, like most Americans, I google my symptoms and get the usual suspects: Diabetes (not likely - I eat pretty healthy nowadays and have never had any issues like that), MS, Lupus, cancer (lol).
Some deeper dives show vitamin deficiencies as a potential cause; various B vitamins, but then I see folic acid deficiency, and I'm sitting here hoping that's it (I'm on methotrexate + folic acid, and it'd make sense if I need to bump up the folic acid).
I just spent $5k getting my GF a new car since hers died, and am not going to waste my money going to the ER when they have misdiagnosed me about 50% of the time I've gone (once diagnosing fucking shingles as GERD, I'm not even kidding) and will wipe out the rest of my savings (last time I went to the ER was for a kidney stone, and it ended up hitting my $6.5k deductible.. Now $6.8k).
I've got 9 days until my next RA doc appointment, and I just have to hope everything is fine until then.. And even then, I'm hoping he doesn't order some labs I can't get done at the local health dept, because labs at the med group I go to are expensive AF (the doc is absolutely worth it, though, and they take my insurance for specialist visits, which end up at $100 a visit). Oh, and imaging? Forget about it.

For my birthday my family is offering to upgrade my eno double nest (previously used for family hang time on camping trips) to a full hammock set up for backpacking so that I won’t have to bring a tent. Please share your set up with me. I am interested in your fly, hammock with integrated bug net and under quilt recommendations. I currently have kammok python straps that are about 15 years old. They’re alright but I’m looking to upgrade my suspension too with something more tree friendly.
