So here I am... After drinking steadily and regularly for the past 30 years (I'm nearly 49), I decided to pull the plug.
I've always drunk more, and faster, than the rest. I've embarrassed myself numerous times, and my binges have become more frequent, including weeknights.
For years now, I've been bracing myself, and become more sensitive to the fact that alcohol is poison, that I'm just using it to numb something painful inside me, and that sobriety is unavoidable (shoutout to Mike Flanagan, Jack Torrance and Danny Torrance 😂).
For months now, the words "I'm an alcoholic" have been going round my head. It took me a few tries to open up to my doctor and say it out loud. He didn't have to say much, but coming out of the office I felt better than I have ever felt in years. I know he's got my back if I fail, but honestly I'm doing ok.
I'd like to extend my thanks to you all. Like in most situations where the right person is in the right place at the right time, you didn't have to do much: just being there and posting advice and stories while I lurked was enough. Thanks for the motivation and inspiration.
It's now been 7 days where I've learnt that I could be able to avoid the bargaining with myself, that the lion is better kept in a cage than on a leash. Last night we went to have dinner with friends and I only had water + drove my wife back home + got lots of encouraging words from said friends.

So i've just discovered the wonderfull world of arbing (i'm verry excited to start) and i have a question. I see one of the biggest problems being accounts getting limited by brokers etc.
My question: if you use a 2 different accounts (ex. acc1: my own, bet on site A. acc2, my friends, mothers,... just somebody else, bets on site B.) accounting for the basics like rounding off the numbers, etc. how would the brokers know you're even arbing? to them it just seems like you're placing a normal bet and the second person is also placing a normal bet, there is no link between the two so how would the be able to ban you?
ofcourse, this must mean the 2nd acc should be someone you trust so that they don't run off with the profits if their account wins, but isn't this just a fool-proof way to not get caught? especially if you have acces to both accounts so the trust factor doenst even matter?
please if anyone has experience lmk.

Not anemic. My provider (a young nurse practitioner) prescribed me 324mg of ferrous sulfate (I think) to take every other day. I feel like I should do an infusion. My b12 & vitamin were nonexistent before we ever test ferritin so I know this has been going on for a while. She won’t refer me for infusions until she sees my ferritin isn’t improving AFTER 3 months. Should I get a 2nd opinion?

I've always been of the opinion that while english dubs of Anime have gotten better over time, it's always been a struggle for me to enjoy what is basically English speakers trying to imitate the energy and aggression of a Japanese dub.
I'm not saying English VA's are weaker than Japanese VA's. Not even close. ATLA, Arcane, Invincible, Spider-Verse, Blue-Eye Samurai; these animated media all have strong voice actors, but I think what's always been missing for me is the West's own stylized form of voice acting.
Because a lot of Japanese anime also have natural, neutral and organic voice acting, same as the ones above.
But what I love about Castlevania is that almost everyone speaks in this soft-spoken, whispery kind of sound. If Japan places emphasis on anger, exaggeration and raw energy, I really like how from the start Castlevania goes for this hushed, somwhat restrained style that really creates its own identity. Sure, not everyone speaks like that in the show, but it feels prevalent enough that I genuinely believe it's a conscious choice.
It feels like I'm watching a Dark Souls series, to be honest.
Alucard, Dracula, Maria, Death, Tera, Isaac, Lenore, Olrox—their line delivery is so memorable because it's so unique. It's soft, yes, but also delivered with crystal clarity. During conversations, it almost feels hypnotic at times. And it's why a lot of moments with anger as the central emotion hit harder, because normally the dialogue feels grounded and held back.
It really sells that atmosphere of dark fantasy. It's not anger that prevails throughout the population, but exhaustion. This bone-deep weariness that everyone feels living through what feels like a bleak and bloody world.
And I'm not saying it's better than other styles or energy of voice acting! It just feels unique and refreshing. It's a type of line delivery that I think the formal English language and cadence has a natural predisposition towards.

So I'm planning to meet my ex maybe in January last week. We were in no contact. He blocked me everywhere Broke no contact multiple times . But I'm really heartbroken right now. I'm depressed and lonely. Just wanted to meet and hug him. But he already told me multiple times to move on and is not interested in me. Previously he wanted friendship now he doesn't want anything to do with me. He broke up with me in June 2024 as I have hurted him so badly and I didn't even apologize properly. Used NC in a wrong way. On last dec I didn't even wish him happy birthday and now I'm regretting now. Should I apologize to him properly? If so how do I apologise in person ? Should I gift him something that he likes or wants? Someone please guide. I just don't want to lose him forever. He was in a relationship with someone new but they broke up because of me I came in between them. Please someone give me good suggestions. I'm planning to suprise visit him even though he told he have exams on April. So doesywamt to meet anybody but I cannot wait. Share me your perceptions guys. I just need him back anyhow
