First, this community had been immensely helpful. I can really identify to the posts and everything has really resonated with me. I wanted to share some items that have helped me so far.
1 create an excel spreadsheet with formulas to automatically run math on my monthly budget. This shows me how many additional payments I can make toward my CCs.
2 start an eBay store. I’ve been reselling at a profit for a few years but really kicked that into high gear over the past 6 months. I restore, refinish and resell small antiques and vintage costume jewelry. Once I restore a piece, I take the time to photograph everything and create listings. This has been a great replacement for shopping dopamine because when something sells, I get that same benefit of some extra dopamine.
3 have an accountability partner to help you through this or a therapist. Or both! I could justify some new insoles for running shoes since I had a coupon and my partner asked if I’d buy it without the coupon and if I already had some. Which I do have some that are new. lol.
4 understanding triggers and patterns to buying spirals. If work was rough, life threw curve balls, emotional distress (father had cancer and mother in law had multiple heart attacks), etc. if most purchases happen after 10PM. You get the gist. Once I could ID mine, I allowed those triggers to happen, noted them, and distracted myself until the urge to buy passed. I workout, enjoy the sauna, TV shows and movies, video games, hikes, walking with friends, time with the dogs, adult coloring books to hyperfocus on, etc.
5 removing all digital payment methods from phone as well as shopping apps. Deleted Amazon, posh, and the only one I keep is eBay since I’m a seller on the side. Keeping up to date with Reddit to read the experience of others really helps validate my own experience.
6 search Facebook and YouTube for shopping addiction and no buy, anti consumerism, reselling, and then like a ton of the high watch count videos that come up. This turned my algorithm from luxury clothing to how I can spend less money. And less triggering videos.

My dad just passed away yesterday, I keep wishing I did certain things differently. I know it's normal and people reassure me that I did everything fine but I can't help but to dwell on what I could have done differently. How do I cope with this?

2025.01.19 16:21 el3mentalgaming Achievement unlocked in game but not on Steam after a DC
I have recently been chasing some of the hero achievements and today achieved the Adam Warlock achievement Family Ties; however, in the game that I completed it a family member knocked the power cable for the router and thus caused a disconnect. Once the internet came back I had the achievement in the game but it did not complete on Steam I suspect due to being unable to complete the match.
I have since completed the achievement in 2 subsequent matches and restarted my client to no avail.
Does anybody know whether there is a way to resolve this or if I'm softlocked out of my 100% on Steam?

2025.01.19 16:21 Ramanel (Help) White reduces brightness CRT monitor
Hello everyone,
I have just gotten a CRT monitor (Iiyama pro 454) and was encountering a problem: The brightness drops significantly when I increase the amount of white on the screen, for example when I open a white window (e.g. word or my documents). The white then becomes gray.
Is that normal?/Is there a way to solve this?
The contrast/resolution are already at 100%. When I reduce them enough, I don't have the problem anymore but the screen is too dim for me in that case.

Hi everyone, I'm hoping to find a duo to play games with and talk to and really get along with. I'd love to just chat in call about whatever and just have a good time. I figured I'd use this opportunity to make an awesome long lasting friendship here on Reddit. Lemme tell you a bit about myself:
•I play my games on PC primarily (also own a steam deck and man being able to play in bed is actually so nice) but I also have a bunch of cross play games so we do have variety. I have a bunch of games we could play and recently I've been enjoying Helldivers 2, CS2, Destiny 2, Fortnite, Battlefield, OW2, Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout 76, Monster Hunter World and Rise, Apex, Rainbow 6, and Rivals. While those are the games I play often nowadays, I still have a bunch of others so I'm sure we could find something that both of us would enjoy.
•Have a fairly dark sense of humor and can really talk about anything. I enjoy messing around and saying some dumb stuff to make jokes and whatnot.
•Really enjoys calls and would appreciate someone who also feels the same way. Texters only are great too so don't feel shy!
•Down to talk about anything you want to. Having someone there to listen is really nice sometimes and I try to give people the opportunity to just be themselves.
•Enjoy listening to music and just relax to it. I have a Spotify playlist in case anyone would want to give it a listen and its mostly filled with synthwave and house and I think its pretty nice. Would love to hear what anyone would wanna recommend.

Why do certain Biblical names, which have an ה or a ח in their Hebrew forms, seemingly lose the H when translated into Greek and Latin? Examples include:
Hannah becoming Anna
Hosea becoming Osee
Haggai becoming Aggæus
Hagar becoming Agar
Hadadezer becoming Adarezer
Haman becoming Aman
Hophni becoming Ophni
This shows that the H is often dropped in Latin, while Ancient Greek uses a spiritus lenis.
However, many other names retain the H, such as Habacuc, Helcias, Hananias, Hemor, Haran, Heber, Henoch, and Hur. In the case of Eli, the H is even added, transforming it into Heli.
Is there a systematic reason for these variations, or were they changes made at random?

I need 15+ FCR on a circlet for my offline Nova Sorc. What's the lowest level I can be to gamble FCR & lightning skills on a yellow or blue circlet?
In Mrllamasc's latest guided playthrough he pulled a 2 lightning 20 FCR 2 OS circlet off the imbue quest at lvl 33. So I'm assuming it's worth gambling at a much lower level than I would have guessed.
