2025.01.19 17:09 Final_Bathroom_4148 My experience telling doctors about this so far…
 | Over a year ago I went to urgent care and was diagnosed with scabies. The treatment given did not work. At my physical I showed my primary the sores I had on my stomach, legs & face that take months to heal and I have a lot of visible scarring in the areas. I told her I didn’t think it was caused by scabies, she agreed and looked over my skin/sores with a flashlight. She gave me a steroid cream to try & said if it didn’t work to update her on the portal with photos & mentioned doing a skin biopsy next. She couldn’t fit me in right away so I saw another dr at her office who accused me of skin picking. End of December I was feeling especially awful with an alarming sense that something was very wrong & realized I had gone 3 days with only urinating 2 times. I decided to go to the ER. I had recently begun to tell close family about this & they all insisted I had to tell drs about it. At the ER I said I was not getting the urge to urinate, had horrible foamy diarrhea earlier in the week & that was my last bowel movement. I casually mentioned I thought I may have worms in my nose. I said I knew it sounded crazy but I kept feeling a weird sensation & finding what looked like dried boogers, one of which I thought I saw a worm come out of. I also said I didn’t know if it was worms or something resembling one or possible nothing (after the look I got that made me feel about 1cm tall). I had new sores on my face and said I also keep getting a rash of sores that don’t heal. The nurse gave me my discharge papers upside down and quickly left the room which I thought was just because they were busy. It wasn’t until I got home I realized they put my reason for the visit was constipation (no?) with a diagnosis of nasal congestion, multiple wounds of skin & delusions of parasitosis. I also got a drug abuse screen (I passed) that I was not aware of & was told I needed a urine sample for a pregnancy test & test for infection. Honestly, I cried a lot. It took so much for me to even bring it up at all. I’ve spent over a year trying to get rid of this, experimenting with home treatments, and trying to get good visual evidence. I went back and forth in my head so many times over the past year on if it was real or if I was developing schizophrenia. When my brother told me he saw what I saw I thought for sure if I went to the ER they would be able to help. The ER dr told me: “The US does NOT have parasites. And parasites do not present in the nasal cavity”. I said ok and left it at that. He did look in my nose with a little scope and said it appeared very irritated with no artifacts besides boogers. Again, I dropped it, knowing from reading others experiences on here, if I pushed I would get a psychosis diagnosis. I messaged my primary physician who is absolutely amazing. She listens, actually cares & when I first showed her the sores I could see her mind getting interested in finding out what is causing them. I told her the horrible treatment I got at the ER, that I was not delusional & explained a little more of my symptoms with my stool/urine that made me concerned. I sent her a couple pictures of my last two bowel movements that no one can look at & say yea that’s healthy. She ordered more some bloodwork & a stool specimen order to test for certain bacteria & parasites. Unfortunately the parasite came back negative but also explains it can be negative even when they are present. The most accurate way is to do 3 separate samples on 3 different days. I am going to see a dermatologist soon & also return to see my primary in person in March. I’ve been thinking it may be leishmaniasis from sand flies, bacteria/fungal infection from being bitten or some kind of worm or beetle larvae I live in Michigan along the Lakeshore of Lake Michigan. I know a couple others on here are also located on Lake Michigan in different states. I’m curious how many others are located near the Great Lakes and if there’s any prevalence there. The only home treatment to do anything so far has been baking soda. Just letting it sit on my sores while I watch tv. I’ve had a lot of artifacts come out after. I’m not sure if it the baking soda is effecting them or if they need oxygen and the powder cuts it off. But they do not like it. They will start to move a lot when it’s applied but after about a half hour they come to a stop. Luckily arm & hammer makes a bunch of products with baking soda (laundry detergent, toothpaste, deodorant, toothpaste, foot power, hand soap, body wash & my best find yet was a simply saline nasal mist). I started using these products recently to see if they will get rid of them. So far it has not but it has greatly reduced them. Knock on wood. The nasal mist I am spraying in my ears also. My nose does not have anymore large dry artifacts since I started using it & ear irritation has slowed. I had hair down to my butt and I cut it so that I can put it in a pony for work & used some metallic hair dye that I assumed had extra chemicals and would help kill them. My hair has been so much better since. I’ve been considering writing to professors that are knowledgeable with parasites/infectious diseases to see if I could peak any interest. Good luck everyone. I’m currently in school for MIS and I’m looking at getting some career certifications to help with internships. I always hear that the go-to is getting the CompTIA A+, but from my knowledge that is much more hardware focused. My school’s MIS curriculum is mostly focused on database management, systems analysis, business intelligence, ERP, etc. etc.
Would a cloud computing certification be a good specialization to have? Could I do the Net+ without the A+?

My daughter is 21, very petite, type 2, and on dexcom and omnipod. (MODY is not confirmed, but is suspected.) She also has an intellectual disability and autism.
She’s in a choir that has some upcoming performances. The dresses are long and black, so I’m not worried about how to hide her adhesive-based devices on her body. I am trying to figure out how to nicely and discreetly keep her with access to her phone, her omnipod controller, and some skittles. These are not things that will fit in her bra, not that she would tolerate that sensory-wise. The phone and controller are both kind of heavy, so I can’t see something like a garter working (and as one of the shortest sopranos, she’s likely to end up on the front row, so access could be a problem). I may not be able to be physically with her between backstage and the stage, so we don’t want to leave her controller where it could be stolen, and she might need it for snack breaks.
A Fanny pack or purse isn’t really an option uniformity-wise unless I could find something very subtle and small as a purse.
Any ideas?
I know I can advocate and fight to do all of this in safety-glo yellow with flashing lights if I want. She prefers to blend in and I understand that. Her director is a kind, sweet person who cares about his students.

I was always fascinated by web development. But i have a strong feeling that this has become a hobby and i can't make a living out of it doing an actual office job. I'm not very good at it though. I spend all of the time looking for solutions online or with the help of chatgpt. I rarely ask him to generate code only small snippets here and there. But the interviews are so strict like they expect you know everything as if google hasn't been invented yet. I just don't get the tendency of making some tests super hard even if your future responsibilities might not be that difficult.
