- 5 players from 1st placed team + 1 player each from both 2nd and 3rd placed team.

2025.01.19 17:35 HammyxHammy What's the deal with faction access feats?
I'll run off on a tangent point here for a moment, I feel like PF2 has kinda a thing biasing the flavor of universally appreciable things.
PF2 has one 3rd level 5d6 10ft burst focus spell. They used to have two but one was corrupted by the remaster. So if you want to be an idiot blaster you get pulverizing cascade. Great spell too, would spam 3 times per encounter without hesitation. But it has a very particular flavor that I don't think is desirable by the majority of blasters. You know, they want like big explosions and stuff. The flavor of this spell is very cool if you're building a water mage, but otherwise you really don't have a lot of options.
I might throw the amnesiac background in here too.
By comparison, Dazzling Flash of the light domain does exactly what you'd expect of the light domain, and has exactly the flavor you'd expect of a spell of it's mechanical function.
Which brings me to faction archetypes. Red Mantis assassin I don't even have to read to know what's going to be inside there and if anything I'd be worried about it being actively bad rather than flavor biasing things.
But when I look at things like like student of perfection I get that same feeling all over again, but worse, because it's not even like it's off flavor but no your character just came from the wrong monastery so it's off limits folks.
Spellmaster I think is the worst example of this. It has one of the most desirable flavorless feats in the game, mobile magical combat, and it's gated by faction affiliation by "adventuring club magic school".
Sorry if I'm not making sense.

Hi! I have this in a glazed pot with plenty of activated charcoal and perlite and I take care not to overwater. But this leaf looks sickly. I took it out of the pot and the roots look good.
I’m not very experienced with monstera yet, and Google told me the usual conflicting reasons.

i recently interviewed with a small coding summer camp and felt pretty disrespected by the interviewer. they started by asking which location i preferred, to which i told them i had no preference since they all had around the same travel time from my house. they told me that i should've looked their locations up beforehand, and that this meant i wasn't "proactive" enough. spoiler alert: i did. that's why i said i was fine with any of them. i just didn't remember their exact addresses because i searched them up a while ago (when i applied), i only remembered that they were all close enough that i didn't mind going to any of them, which is what i thought the question was asking. they then asked about my prior experience working with kids, so i told them about some summer camp volunteering i did in the past. i was told that unpaid experience "didn't count" because "they'll just hire anyone". i'm sorry, but i thought some experience would've been better than none at all. then, they said they already knew what experiences i had because they read my application, so i'm not sure what the point of asking me even was.
i probably wouldn't have worked for them anyway since i don't think i'm the best fit for what they want, but i just felt like the interviewer could've been nicer. but honestly, i'm feeling pretty defeated that i can't even get a job at a summer camp.
