Hello all, sorry for bad mobile formatting.
I have unmodded New Horizons on my normal Switch and have been playing it since launch with several long breaks. There is one specific area in my island that slows down considerably when i am running through it, and I'm curious as to why. Sorry for no pictures but ill do my best to describe.
To the right of it is my east river mouth but I turned the river into a small pond with cliffs. This was still lagging before I terraformed the cliffs+mini waterfalls.
To the left of it is the entrance to my large Halloween maze made of straw fencing and 60+ Wheat Field items. I thought maybe the lag was due to rendering all the wheat blowing in the wind, so I removed them all yesterday, but nothing's changed. I have a few Spooky collection items around the entrance and a Monster Statue, but I have those in various other places on my island that don't lag.
Below it is a densely decorated street with my Able and Nook shops. Above it is a densely decorated cinema/arcade/lounge area. Neither of these lag, the lag is only when I run between them past my maze entrance.
All over my island I have transparent custom ground design to prevent ground spawns, and various other custom pathing.
I am not well versed in the technical aspects of the game and am hoping someone has suggestions on what I can do to reduce the lag.

Anyone else getting lots of gas in their oil?? Less than 35,000 k and already had to change spark plugs AND they say no warranty. Having to pay for extra oil changes because of dilution. Not happy. Only fix from them is to drive it more. 🐂

This was the first time this season that even a United and Spurs loss did not cheer me up as much as it used to. We've had stuff go against us a few times but yesterday felt disheartening. I find it hard to accept the amount of latitude that Partey gets in the team btw. I wonder how much worse having Kiwior at CB could be? This season in my mind was about winning, the style and methods mattered but not as much as winning. I accept that we support one of the best performing clubs in football right now and there is a lot to be grateful for, but winning matters. I personally feel if we don't win something major in the next couple of seasons, the ownership will settle into the "CL football is enough to be a good business" mentality and I wouldn't expect us to make a charge for a while. We also have 3-4 players that are probably world beaters or close to, and they aren't gonna stick around for a "good enough" outcome for long. I really believed that this season we could win something major and maybe we still can, but the likelihood looks distant with each injury we suffer. How is everyone else feeling?

In Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Steve McQueen talks about Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate’s marital situation and her history with Jay Sebring. McQueen says, “Jay loves Sharon. That's what's up. And he knows, as sure as God made little green apples, that one of these days that Polish prick's [Roman Polanski] gonna fuck things up and when he does, Jay's gonna be there.”
I may be reading into this a little much (or maybe this was obvious) but I just realized that this quote may have more importance than I had initially thought. At the end of the movie, we know that Sharon Tate ultimately survives the Manson murders in contrast to what actually happened. Is it possible that this quote from Steve McQueen may have been Tarantino’s thoughts for how Polanski and Tate’s marriage would have worked out if she had survived? Especially since Polanski has turned out to be an extremely awful person, this may have been the thing that McQueen was pointing to when he said that Polanski’s going to fuck things up one day.

So it's been a few months now and I still can't find a 100% confirmed answer? Has anyone preordered the base game on Steam and then upgraded after release?
If so did your preorder items get removed? Did you have a save after getting the journalist stash and then upgrade - were you able to get the digital items?
I have the preordered bonus base game but have become a collector and really want the ultimate digital guns and I would gladly rebuy if I knew I would keep my preorder. However I have a feeling it'll replace my key removing my preorder bonuses. I know it's a possibility they'll release upgrades but nothing is 100%.

2025.01.19 18:36 Detetive_Azul Is the fourth season bad?
I recently started watching the rookie, and I really loved the series, just like 911, it has great characters, an engaging plot, which discusses complex things and is at the same time light, in short, an incredible series, but I started watching the fourth season this morning and I thought the direction it took was simply horrible, the most senseless death I've ever seen with a character I really liked, Jackson, there was no involvement, making his death have no weight at all and simply the guys doing to something super illegal which is to invade the Guatemala with just three people in a totally meaningless plan, and with Lopez killing his wife there just like that, also without any weight.
And then there's that new guy there that nobody likes and just on his second day he arrests one of the biggest robbery criminals in history, which I also thought was a great way to include someone to replace Jackson.
Am I being annoying or is this fourth season really bad?

Thoughts? I'm in the early-mid game, got research to about the 10000 RP mark, i tried to maximize, as much as was feasible reactor and laser efficiency, technically the ship still can fit a ton of lasers but my engines are just too weak for that, or rather that they are too inefficient with fuel.
Is there anything terribly bad about the design? in particular i wonder about the sensor's resolution and how many i should have of each, similar for beam fire control since i just dont know, same for ship speed. I have no idea what the ai uses or what is the standard among players.
I tried to use the wiki and forums as much as i could but when it comes to questions like "how much X i should use" i simple didn't find many answers as it's naturally dependent on specifics so im just rolling with whatever looks reasonable in my mind.
