Budget up to $250 USD for the initial work, will pay more for commercial licence if I like the piece. Looking for an illustration for an urban fantasy/dark academia/murder mystery book I'm nearly finished drafting.
I'm a decent amateur artist and took a stab at doing it myself, so you'll have my piece as a reference/staring point, but I'm looking for a pro artist who can endow it with a lot of atmosphere through lighting, mood, etc.
Ideally, I'm hoping to hire somebody who is great at distinct, expressive faces and conveying atmosphere. I'm open to some stylization, especially of the background, but I don't want manga.
The project is totally SFW. It'll involve two characters and some background. Must be able to draw plus-sized characters (Believe it or not, this is the biggest hurdle I've faced in finding an artist). Thanks!

I was strapping our 6 month old into her car seat and I noticed the car seat straps were twisted. I did kind of put the blame on my husband since he was the last one to use the car seat. I said āthe car seat straps are twistedā and he responded with āthey were like that when I put her in thereā. Well, my first response was to think that he had left them twisted and not bothered to fix them. So I said āwe need to make sure we untwist the straps because itās not safe. Car seat safety is really important to meā. And he responded with āsheās fineā. He said he didnāt need me to lecture him on what to do. A lot of what I say is met with this kind of response. I just feel so invalidated. I feel so hopeless because this happens all the time, and I donāt feel like I should ever say anything or voice my opinion. He told me that I worry too much and that heās not going to give me a good response any time he thinks Iām being irrational and worrying too much. I told him that I just want to feel heard but he doesnāt care. He thinks heās doing me a favor by shutting down my worry. Am I in the wrong? I know I was wrong for initially placing the blame on him. Am I making a big deal out of this and should I just let it go when he tells me things like āyouāre fineā? How do I deal with this situation in a good way and communicate my needs and listen to him without causing a fight?

I donāt see one anymore on the team, almost like we are entering and leaving the field with our heads down. Instead of bringing the team up, the players start a blame game and thereās internal conflict. Itās sad to see.

i saw a post talking about how watching hannibal in his fancy suits and perfectly tailored vests makes us question how well we really dress, and honestly, seeing him with his flawless hair, designer suits, and perfectly pressed shirts really made me look at my closet full of wrinkled jeans and band tees like, "oh my god i look like jesse pinkman."
but thereās something else that this bastard manages to do ever since i saw his dishes with fancy names like ālate-harvest vidal sauce with fresh and dried figsā or whatever, i started feeling guilty for using jarred sauce to make my simple spaghettiā¦ and i used to feel proud just for making my own salad dressing.
honestly, every time iām too lazy to cook and sit there eating my instant ramen, i canāt help but think of how hannibal would look at my plate with utter disgust. guys, even his chicken soup is fancier than mine... š

Some of us sweat a lot. I personally love seeing drenched people on the dance floor, and yet, I feel very self-conscious about my own contribution to local humidity. Over the years, I've developed some ways forward. Recently, I've had a bit of a breakthrough, and wanted to share and see what other people are doing.
Here's my sweat tech stack:
fishnet sleeveless shirt as base layer sleeveless athletic top (not cotton) over the net shirt bandana in my pocket or wrapped on my wrist to sop up whatever's pooling up on my face and neck
The fishnet undertop takes up most of the sweat and has enough air exposure to allow evaporation. The sleeveless athletic shirt keeps most of the sweat in the net shirt from seeping into whatever I'm wearing over it.
This setup has allowed me to dress up more when I want to, without getting my nice stuff soaked. Also, I can look hot in a net shirt at some point, if that's the way things go.
Anyway, I'd love to hear other people's approaches!

(Late 20s F) I was born without one lobe of my thyroid and was diagnosed at 8 with hashimotos. I am wondering if anyone else out there was born without a lobe and still has consistent issues with their thyroid. (eg., Exhaustion, loss of hair, brital nails, stomach issues, and swelling of thyroid) I got confirmation from my endocrinologist finally that not much can be done for my case so wanted to see if others out there have the same condition and are in the same boat.
