Please help me understand! The past three times where I've tried to make pancakes from scratch, they've come out weird and spongy and don't get an even brown on top. I promise you I am not over mixing (included a pic of my batter and you can see the flour in the one pancake), but even when I used to overmix the boxed pancake batter, this never happened. It's not terrible but something is off with the texture and browning. They don't take flavorful either. As always I cook them in a cast iron and wipe off the oil in the skillet. Skillet is always heated properly too.

I’m mainly here to vent. While I’ve known this for a long time, I just came to the realization that my wife and I will never truly be as close as we want.
In a relationship where both people desire each other sexually, you basically have a hunger for each other. It draws you closer. You get to know them more deeply.
My wife couldn’t care less about anything sexual. She will never truly be mine, and I’ll never truly be hers. She doesn’t want me. Doesn’t think about me. It is like living in a different world.
We get along very well otherwise, but it just feels like I’m living with someone I wish was my wife but is actually just a close friend. I’m crazy about her and have just been hoping the one I love will someday love me back.
She won’t. Aside from the fact that we live together and are raising kids together, I play a similar role in her life as any close friend/roommate. She goes on and on about how she loves me so much and she is so thankful for me and she thinks I’m so amazing, but I don’t believe it anymore. I’m not kidding when I say she would rather have a root canal than have sex or passionate kiss with me.

Hi everyone!
Let me start by saying that I am new to the hobby. I inherited my grandfather's old model trains, and I want to build a train set with his old N Gauge Bachmann USRA 0-6-0. It ran fine when I first tested it, but then the front-right wheel got loose and detached from the chassis. I tried reseating the wheel multiple times with varying degrees of pressure, but it keeps falling off.
I couldn't find a manual for the train, and I couldn't find any forum posts where someone had the same issue. I asked ChatGPT, which suggested using a small drop of CA glue (super glue). Is this a good idea, or is this ChatGPT hallucinating?
Also, the coupling rod doesn't have a connection to the middle-right wheel. Can it be solved by making sure the wheels are properly quartered? If not, how can I connect it to the wheel? Is this going to cause a serious issue?
Any advice would be appreciated.

People just don’t stop supporting dog shit companies. I can’t understand why people are still getting meals at McDonald’s with prices that are almost as much as a sit down restaurant when there are many better quality fast food options out there.
I used to get shawarma plates from a place called Osmow’s, their portions were amazing, could easily make a couple of meals out of a platter. After about year or so of getting the occasional treat there, I ordered the same thing I usually get and they handed me a single container when it was normally two. I asked them where the salad was and they said it was in the container they had just handed me. I opened it and sure enough, there it was along with half the portion of the main dish I’d been getting up to that point. I asked them wtf and they said that was the portion size. Cool. Cool cool. That was last time I went there. As I left I looked around the restaurant and there were easily 10 people in there eating their meals. This was over 3 years ago and the place is still in business.
I just don’t get it.
TL;DR: why are people so at peace with being gouged instead of just being without?
