A word for someone who regularly expresses opinions as facts is pontificator: [One who] expresses opinions or judgements in a dogmatic way. An example would be a programmer who insists that XML is the solution to everything. However, your example involves a prediction. It is generally understood that predictions are inherently unreliable. 1 A person inclined to question or doubt accepted opinions. ‘Once again, the people proved all the skeptics, all the doubters, all the detractors, wrong, that democracy can work in this part of the world.’ ‘Indeed, all progress depends on the sceptic, the questioner, the person who does not wholly conform.’ But if some other person says X is wrong, and you also agree, you are not really expressing your own opinion. You are simply agreeing with everyone else. How do you describe that kind of personality with one word in a formal way? Specifically, someone who cannot make decisions on their own and depends on others' opinions. I don't believe there's an exact word for "someone who corrects others' spelling errors", but there is one for a person who is meticulous in spelling, generally: contrarian A contrarian is a person who takes up a contrary position, a person who seems to be "contrary for the sake of being contrary," especially a position that is opposed to that of the majority, regardless of how unpopular it may be. It's not just a matter of being unpopular in the sense that few people have that opinion: provoking argument or conversation is an important part of it. Narrow-minded (“having restricted or rigid views, and being unreceptive to new ideas”), small-minded (“Selfish, petty; constrained in thought, limited in scope of consideration, not mindful of the big picture”), and previously-mentioned close-minded (“unreceptive to new ideas or information; not open to any agreement”) are all relevant, as are some of their synonyms like hidebound ... I'm looking for a word or phrase to describe someone believes and portrays the opposite of reality as the truth, especially as it relates to inter-personal dynamics. I don't have a definitive answer to this question. But I want to point out a couple of things that surprised me when I looked into possible differences between "free of" and "free from." How do you greet multiple recipients in an e-mail? Assuming they're both male, I just use "Sirs", but it seems a bit informal.

Então resumindo a história eu estava ficando com esse homem já há 9 meses, a gente estava vivendo uma vida de namorados, se vendo sempre, falando todo dia, ele conheceu a minha família, amigos. Enfim, eu fiquei na expectativa dele me pedir em namoro ou conversar sobre, como somos mais velhos, eu 36 e ele 38 eu não queria algo de novela, nem faço questão disso, mas o mínimo era “oficializar” o que pra mim estava bem claro. Fizemos uma viagem juntos maravilhosa e achei que rolaria ali, e nada, depois passou o ano novo juntos tb e nada. Então eu falei que queria conversar sobre isso e ele disse que em “breve” e nada tb. Até que conversamos essa semana e tive que me impor como mulher, pq não tenho mais tempo a perder com quem não quer me assumir, tenho planos de vida. Quando começamos a falar ele ficou querendo “fugir” pra mim e enrolar né? Falando que me adorava, que a gente estava muito bem assim, que ele tem medos, que está com “problemas” enfim, tudo que ele falava eu respondi pra ele que na verdade ele só não queria namorar comigo, pq o sim é bem claro, se quisesse teria falado! Teria definido…e ele ficou falando que não é isso. E eu fui bem leve, bem tranquila com isso, disse que se não quisesse estava tudo bem, as vezes acontece de ficar com uma pessoa e não gostar a ponto de namorar… Até que fui bem clara, eu não quero ser ficante e perder tempo com ninguém, se não for um relacionamento, se ele não quiser a mesma coisa seremos só amigos. Nessa hora ele ficou falando que não quer me perder, e ficou mais um tempo na conversa até que ele falou tá bom se é importante isso, estamos namorando!!
Enfim para não falar muito mais, eu estou pensando se ele queria mesmo ou ele não viu saída, pq coloquei ele na parede, mas se ele não gostasse de mim ele seria firme tb na decisão dele certo??

First of all the NFC championship we face either the rams or the eagles. We’ve beaten the eagles before and idc if it was without hurts we can still beat them. Lattimore will be better and our defense will get some picks. Then it could be the rams which we could also easily beat. I feel like it would be a commanders-lions type of game since they both don’t know each other that well. With all this we could go to the bowl.
Then the Super Bowl. 3 teams. First the ravens, we nearly beat the ravens in week 6 which was way long ago. Which means as long as we can actually stop Henry we’re good. Then the bills. Our biggest challenge. Tbh our secondary might be able to deal with the receivers. Only threat is Amari cooper and lattimore can lock him up. And James cook isn’t the biggest threat. It’s Josh Allen. We need to pressure him a lot and force him out of the pocket and our secondary needs to keep up. And of course we have the chiefs. Come on u know we can beat the chiefs as long as we lock up kelce. And we gotta hope the refs don’t call roughing the passer when one pat on the shoulder after the throw has mahomes flopping and getting 15. This is how we can win the Super Bowl. HTTC!!

Hey everyone, I recently bought the beretta 1301 tactical. I head great things about it's reliability. I was shocked that after my second trip the range it was misfiring. It would cycle fine and load fine but when I pulled the trigger "click" and no action movement. I have to pull the handle and eject the perfectly good shell, which would fire on a second or third try. Seems weird? And makes me a little nervous. I didn't even get through all the ammo I bought when I left the store before it would fail. Should I call Beretta for an exchange? Is it something I did or could've prevented? I'm new to this gun so any advice is helpful, thank you.

2025.01.19 20:41 mikesmith929 Fedora KDE connecting remotely

I've been looking for a solution to connecting remotely to my Fedora KDE machine for a while now. I've tried VNC and it was slow and laggy and tried KRDP but it doesn't work.
What do you folks use to remotely connect and view your desktop? Is this just not a Linux thing?
I'm at a bit of a loss why KVMs like the piKVM are so popular, as why not just ssh to the headless server without a DE, yet graphically connecting to a DE seems like a foreign concept to most users.
Even when using VNC or KRDP when I can magically get them to work, they literally will just unlock the remote machine and just mirror commands, not the best solution.
Ideally simply opening a virtual desktop and streaming it out would be best, like what RDP does in Windows.
Anyhow am I the only person who remotely connects to a DE? Or what am I doing wrong?

Hello! I've been wanting snake bites really bad, but due to me having braces, i'd have to wait until i take them off to get the piercing done (which would take 3 years and i don't want to wait that long), so i came up with an idea of purchasing one of those fake piercings! They don't require piercing my skin, but i don't know if they won't make problems. If i wear them frequently, will they get stuck to my braces or damage them?

Hey all,
I live in canada, on "the island", access for resources and aid are limited to the functionality of the confederation bridge, and the ferries (when they arnt broke down) the more I listen to sources about what could be coming in the states this fall, and how that is likley to spill into canada (think oct 7th, if you know, then you know) and Im trying to figure out what I need to be prepared, and how to pull that together by mid / end of summer. I dont have a lot of money to spend, and I have a family of 4 (ages 1 yr - 12 yrs) kids, and spouce to be prepared for. I have broke it down to a few catagories, and I would appreciate any thoughts you have.
FOOD I have started looking into things like MRE's which are very expensive (when you think of how many you need for 6 people a day) there isnt alot to hunt here and what there is, well half of it your be rolling the dice on saftey to eat it, so im not really sure what I should be stockpile, I have started with some canned meats, and noodle packs.
PROTECTION / DEFENCE / HUNTING I have a small calibar fire arm, with some ammunition (not much) but Ill be buying a larger caliber firearm, and will be picking up ammo as im able, I have some axes, knives, sharpening stones ect.
OTHER MATERIALS / SUPPLIES / SKILLS I have some tents / camping supplies, paracord, fire making materials, as well as compasses, and maps, all of which I have been teaching the children to use, I have learned some skills in hunting, and trapping, and will keep doing so. My wife has been learing about canning, and that sort of thing.
What else should I be doing / buying, and what plans should I be making ahead of time?
