2025.01.19 23:24 peanutbutter6601 Setting up internet in new apartment, blinking white light
Hi! I just moved into a new apartment complex and went to the store to set up an Xfinity account and get a modem. I followed the easy instructions to set it up, but the light on the modem is blinking white and I am unable to connect to the internet. I tried troubleshooting with the Xfinity chat in the app, but it did not work.
The tech at the store yesterday mentioned that the prior residents who just moved out had not yet cancelled their service, so I am wondering if that could be the issue and if it can be double checked? I tried called the number but the automatic voice would not connect me to a live person.

Hey all, I'm on day 30. This is the longest I have gone in probably 10 years. Just wanted to post here and celebrate.
A few random thoughts:
- week 1 was kind of ok, a lot of boredom but also I was hyped.
- week 2 was the absolute worst, depression kicked in strong and I didn't have one single happy moment
- by week 3 things started to get better emotionally and physically
- week 4 improvment on week 3
Weird thing, didn't have night sweat nor too many vivid dreams. Wandering why, Is It normal?
Anyway, this group has been incredibly supportive, thank you all for being here. To all of you further in your journey please keep posting and updating us behind, and the one who just started, keep going, It is worth it! Now on to next goal: 3 months!

i've only recently realized that youtube turning into a cesspool of weird unskippable ads has been an experience shared by... way more people than i thought (opposed to me thinking i was getting very weird ads because i removed some cookie permissions on my account. i assumed it was the norm, they just weren't tailored to me anymore).
anyways, it's only been a problem for me on the mobile app. on my laptop, im used to have adblocks on chrome. haven't seen a single ad in years.
by now i've seen dozens of people saying that The Solution is to ditch chrome, and use adblock and firefox together. well, this came way outta left field for me, as i haven't even thought about firefox since i left school.
i remember, a long time ago, every school having internet explorer as the default browser, and then switching to firefox in the early 2010's. which means i also remember that from 2013/14 onwards students would use firefox exclusively to install chrome on the school's computers, and then doing the actual work on chrome. we didn't really have any technical preferences, it was just new and shiny. chrome eventually became the default everywhere, and yet i spent the rest of the 2010's without ever seeing a school computer without firefox as the default. in other words, i haven't used firefox properly in 10+ years because i got used to... well, not using it. except to install chrome, for a couple of years. even when i got my own computer(s), not using chrome didn't even cross my mind, which is why i was surprised to see people still defending firefox's honor in the year of our lord 2025.
so my questions are:
- chrome has its problems, but i've never had a problem using adblocks. or maybe i've had problems and i don't know any better, it's a possibility. but is there any specific reason as to why people recommend firefox + adblock together?
- chrome has also been irritating me as of late. maybe it's time for me to let go, but my whole life is on it, and migrating would be a big deal. also, the firefox i "know" existed 12 years and a billion updates ago (and hard no on internet explorer as its entire existence gives me a migraine). because of this, i ask that someone share their opinions/critics about firefox nowadays, either about technical aspects or personal preferences :)

Iansan punches forward, entering the Nightsoul’s Blessing state and doing one of two things, depending on if you tap or hold the attack. This skill has two charges, and its effects will stack when they would overlap, increasing the ATK Bonus and DMG absorption of the shield, as well as increasing the duration of her Nightsoul’s Blessing state. \-Press- Iansan slams her fists into the ground forming a shield on hit and dealing Nightsoul aligned electro damage in a small AoE in front of her. The shield’s DMG absorption scales based on Iansan’s ATK. \-Hold- Iansan punches forward, dealing Nightsoul aligned electro damage and gives her and nearby teammates an ATK Bonus based on Iansan’s ATK. Iansan leaps forward and slams into the ground, dealing Nightsoul aligned electro damage all around her, causing tremors in the ground that pull enemies hit toward the center of the attack. For the next (number of seconds) Iansan and nearby teammates gain interruption resistance and Iansan’s normal and charged attack will gain increased scaling. Passive Talent 1: C-C-Combo!
When your current active character triggers an Electro-related Elemental Reaction during Iansan’s Nightsoul’s Blessing state the active character will gain 10% Elemental RES and 10% Physical RES for the remainder of the Nightsoul's Blessing state.
