I'm a single dad with two kids. I wanted that job, it's electrical maintenance so the work is easy, it had benefits and room for advancement, all the stuff. But it's 60 hour weeks on rotating shifts. I don't have anyone who can watch my kids. I'm lucky the job I have now works around their school schedule but I don't know what I'm going to do for this summer. It's my first summer having them by myself and I'm worried how I'm going to do this. I dont have the money to pay someone and I don't have family I can have watch them.
I make enough to cover our bills and buy food for us but barely. I worked really hard to get them after their mom lost them to foster care and I'm just kind of lost on what to do right now.

I want/have asked many times for my husband to spend more quality time engaged with our kids and less time playing video games/ watching tv/ phone/ ipad etc. When he does spend time with he spends almost all of it on his phone/ipad/ watching tv.
My husband and I have two kids. They are ages 3 and 4. He has a season job and is off work December-March. I work full time.
I asked him to watch the kids while I was doing laundry, changing bedding & cleaning bedrooms, etc. This was on a weekend day which took about 5 hrs. He spent the entire time playing video games in a separate room while the kids watched tv. Yes, he aided them for potty & a putting a quick lunch on a table in front of the tv. Apart for them probably asking him for something (like open an apple sauce), that was all of the engagement. Meanwhile they frequented the upstairs where I was busy doing housework wanting to play. I'd say play with day and they'd replay he is busy in office.
Over winter break when kids were home and I was working from home, he planned all of these tasks for our home, such as cleaning the garage during winter or setting up a sound system. Once again while he did his own thing, the kids had to go unsupervised with tv. As days went on I ended up having to put my work down to enage with them a) because they kept coming into my office bored, wanting that connection, needing something b) because I felt a tremendous amount of guilt. I ended up spending about half of winter break working nights (including weekend evenings) just to compensate.
Non-break winter months, mornings are spent on phone in between getting kids ready for school. Tv is on the moment they get home from 2-7. If I ask for tv off, he sits on couch on phone or iPad.
He refuses to or sulks if I make him come to any fun events with the kids. He feels only 1 parent is needed. But don't parents want to spend time with kids? Events like ice skating, chocolate making, extreme trampoline, friends houses, he would rather play games by himself. School events like breakfast with santa and some performances, he didn't come to stay home by himself. He's not very interested in going on vacation as well. It's gotten to the point where if my friends invite us to activities that require 2 adults per kid, they'll ask one their friends to go because they know he won't and we need 4 adults for 4 kids.
I don't mind him not coming in summer when he's working. But when he's off for 4 months and refuses or sulks is when I just feel sad.
He also refuses to take them to any activity - dance, swimming, gymnastics. He will not take them unless I basically beg. So if I'm sick and he doesn't get someone else to do it, then they cannot go.
He sulks whenever we have family events for my side of the family and tries to get out of it. On the flipside, he doesn't care if we go to his familys events or not -- as long as he goes.
For me working full time (as contractor) all year with only weekends offs. And for those of you that know contract work, I get zero paid vacations, zero paid holidays, zero paid sick days. So I cant take 2 weeks a year to decompress and without sick days i have to get back asap to start gettint paid again. Hence, I am just utterly exhausted by doing most/sometimes feels like all of the engagements. And, because I am exhausted I feel like the quality time that I could spend with my kids gets diminished.
I've brought this up many times and each time I do, he genuinely thinks these actions (or lack there of) are totally okay. He thinks they should have play-time by themselves. Yes, of course they should have some play alone, but leaving a 3 & 4 year old alone for 5-6 hours isn't. Same with tv. All in moderation. As mentioned earlier, he also thinks there is no point of 2 people engaging. Sometimes I'm tired from working full time and 2 people tag teaming is easier. He claims his friends do this. But that friend is a stay at home mom so of course she's doing it on her own in the day. I work full time all year. He has 4 months off with zero work. But even so, if I dont engage...and do it all....look at the outcome. He thinks what he puts in is plenty of time to connect with them...which means he thinks 10-20 mins a day of active engaging is enough to compensate. (And I'm not counting like brushing teeth or must do stuff). Or he is delusional when he claims to enage with all "all the time". Wiping a butt is not quality time.
When I pictured our life together with kids, I imagined us all doing a bit of everything. Sometimes I go out with kids, sometimes he does, sometimes we go out together. Sometimes I play with them at home, sometimes he plays with them at home and sometimes we all stay in and play together. And yeah sure, of course, sometimes we watch movies.
Something as simple as laughing together barely happens...unless it is because of something as seen on tv. It just makes me really sad because more than anything in the world I wish he'd want to engage more. I wish he realized he actually isnt engaging although he's convinced himself he is. And I'm feeling more of the physical impact/being burnt out more often. Apart from dinner (because he makes dinner) and dropping kids off from school, I often feel like I'm a single mom and he's my boyfriend or something. Our children are so thoughtful and fun and sweet. I love them so so so much. It means the world to them when we show we connect and care. I'm just feeling so gutted that this cycle has not broken. And I'm lost on what to do. So I changed Begum scenario and got many comments that wpuld make drama worse or stuff so my apologies for confusion lemme explain what I menat by begum scenario:
First forget that even one single episode of season 6 has been released....we know begum hatun as character and she is daughter of karesi bey and her brother is yusuf bey...now wheter its histprical or not...bozdag doesnt care bout history....but this scenario would make much more sense about begum.
We see her daughter of karesi and see flashback of time even before Kurlus osman season 1...where Osman bey is about 17...and we see mongols behing begum and Osman...tho both are not together....they have an encounter and Osman saves begum and gives her a horse, that he got after killing a mongol, without asking her identity but when begum asks who are you? He says I am song of ertugul ghazi Osman. Now he hears mongol voices from behing..gives begum a dagger and asks her to run.
Now we are shown another flashback...if you guys remember of Uraz bey, killed by Ismihan men but his murder was blamed on aktemur in S4 when Osman visits karesi...so actually Uraz was Begums husband and he died...so after that Begum started ruling his tribe. and then we see a scene if Begum ruling teibe and sworing tk avenege her husband..
Time passes by and we see season 6 era....where karesi and Osman are not shown enemies but allies and to improve relations...Karesi wants Osman to marry begum...but Bala and fatma opposes this idea...and stuff....and then Ilbay wjo is sjown as a jice character eversince...and after his identity is revealed...Osman marries Begum off to Ilbay.
So this story would be a better storyline for Begum..now we dont wjo she is or when did she love Osman bey. Do you guys like this plot?

While I was doing raids and few others, I've encountered this random player using this unusual weapon (more like rarely used) during raid phases, first encounter until fourth encounter no big deal as it was smooth sailing no hiccups at all, up until final phase, this person still using this weapon and thought to myself "damn this person is crazy lol", and yet it works like a charm, the Ultracite Terror just stood there didn't move or even try to fight and surely enough we beat the Terror with ease.
The gun in question was Alien Blaster, and yeah during fight saw this Cryo effect caused by Alien Blaster, so I learn something new every day and commended that player for doing so.
Not the first time I've encountered someone using unusual meta weapons as few days ago saw someone using Mini Nuke during raid and didn't think too much of it.
And ever since that moment and wondering ever since and as title suggest, what unusual weapon used that you've encountered by another player (or you) but works like charm and 'effective' during Raid?
