Just want to share to this group recent na nagcacause sa akin ng anxiety. And this is because of being the babaeng panganay na wala ng nanay in an asian household. Sorry if mahaba. I know I badly need to get this out na.
Story time: My mom died 10 yrs ago, after I finished college. Honestly, lahat ng nangyari during that time, blurred sa akin. O baka hindi ko na lang din iniintindi, in denial. Or baka hindi ko rin alam paano ipprocess. Alam ko na hindi pa ako totally nakakapagluksa. Parang wala kasi akong time magmukmok at umarte dahil, kung hindi ako kikilos e magugutom ako (kami). Since I am already employed that time, matic na tumulong ako magpaaral sa kapatid ko + expenses paano mabubuhay. With the grace of God, naka graduate yung kapatid ko and currently a professional. Ang laking achievement yon, personally sa akin and syempre sa buong pamilya namin. We were the only siblings btw. While my bro is studying, my father found a new partner (sabi ng mga kamag anak namin, normal daw yun pag nawawalan ng asawa. may mga needs daw kasi na kailangan ang lalaki na partner lang ang makakapuno)... so sino ba naman kami para maging kontrabida sa desisyon nya. BUT lo and behold, meron na silang anak ngayon. To give you a background also, my father does not have a stable income (main reason also kung bakit kailangan kong magpaaral ng kapatid). Like pasingit singit sideline lang sya as a mekaniko and electrician. May iniwan din na maliit na buy and sell business ang mother namin, at siya na rin ang pinagmanage namin totally--as in wala kaming alam sa mga ganap. Simula nung mamatay ang mother namin, hindi na ako nagexpect ng kahit ano sa kanya, since may trabaho naman nga ako at alam ko na maliit ang kita nya. Binibigyan naman namin sya ng monthly allowance, syempre enough for himself lang. Pero P*t*! nag anak pa sila ng dalawa nung bagong partner nya (btw, the kids are now 6 and 2) haha. funny cause para ko na mga anak (single nga pala ako now, 30F. kasi alam kong hindi ko kayang bumuhay ng pamilya in this economy!!!). Hindi namin kasama yung father ko and his new family sa bahay namin, ever since nakahanap sya ng new partner, they are renting a small apartment.
So ito na nga ang ikakasuko ng lahat ng pasensya, pang unawa ko sa buhay. Since si father, wala ngang stable na work, at yung buy and sell business ay hindi rin regular, struggling sila financially (e pano ba naman, nagbabayad na nga ng rent sa apartment, nagaaral pa yung isang bata- pagkakarinig ko, private school pa. wow talaga!). Other than monthly allowance ni father, nagbibigay rin pala kami ng pera sa kanya--pag bday, pasko or kapag may extra. We are giving it to him, not to the new family (pero alam namin na doon nya ginagastos). So recently, si father nagmessage na sa kapatid ko na manghihiram ng pera kasi mapapalayas na daw sila. Hindi napahiram ng kapatid ko dahil may sarili na ring pamilya at may ibang gastusin din. Alam kong ako yung last resort ng father ko sa mga ganitong bagay kasi alam nyang galit ako sa ginawa nya (galit in the sense na, ang hirap ng buhay, gumawa pa sya ng bubuhayin na bagong pamilya! sana nag isip man lang!). So hindi nga sya napaghiram, at ngayon sa akin nanghihiram si father. Tulungan ko daw sya kasi mapapalayas na sila. Tinanong ko kung magkano, at kung paano nya mababayaran dahil wala naman syang trabaho. 20K daw. Huhulugan daw nya sa akin. Sa isip isip ko, paano nga? Tapos kung makabayad man sila ng bahay this month, paano ang pambayad nila next month kung wala pa rin syang trabaho? utang uli sa akin? Ako na bumuhay sa bago nyang pamilya. Nakaka p*t* e. I even asked him " Ikaw lang ba naghahanap ng paraan para mabuhay kayo? anong silbi nung kasama mo jan sa bahay?" Di na sya nakaimik. Kung di yan makahiram sa akin, manghihiram yan sa mga kamag anak. Sa mga kamag anak naman makakarinig ng, "yung father mo nanghihiram sa akin, hindi mo ba kayang pahiramin"? Nakaka B*llSh*t! kasalanan ko pa rin.
Ilang araw ko na nasa isip na ang unfair ng buhay. Ilang gabi na rin akong umiiyak(+ habang tinytype ko ito) Di ko mapigil. Gusto ko lang naman mabuhay ng maginhawa yung father ko pero at the end of the day, he chose to build a new family na ang ending, sa akin din sya tatakbo? I know this will not be the last na hihingi sya ng tulong financially. Paano naman ako? I decided to not build my own family kasi ang priority ko yung magandang buhay para sa kapatid at father ko, pero eventually, ako rin yung bubuhay sa bagong pamilya. I also have bills, debts to pay and gastusin. I need to move on din sa buhay ko. Pero paano? Kasi ang iniisip ng father ko I can always help them kahit yung pera ko ay nakalaan na sa ibang bagay. Kasali naman sya sa monthly budget ko, pero as mentioned, the allowance is only good for him to live na maayos (kung mag isa sya) Nawalan na nga kami ng mother, wala rin kaming naging ama. Hindi ko na alam. Habang panahon na lang ba na ganito? I know I am really emotional now, halo halo na. Im thinking of giving puhunan sa kanila (yung maliit lang pang sari sari store) para may pag kuhanan kahit pang araw araw (take note, give ha). Pero they are not that eager to put up a new business, ang daming sinasabi. Nakakawalang gana. Hindi ko na alam. Hindi na. Gusto ko na lang maglaho at pumunta sa mars.

I would appreciate some advice and perspective on my situation. I live with someone who until somewhat recently I would have considered my best friend. He and I have known each other for around five years and have always gotten along well and didn’t really have any issues until about a month ago when I started dating my girlfriend. He has begun to treat myself and my girlfriend in a way a believe to be disrespectful. For example, my girlfriend and I were going to watch a movie in my bedroom and I said as much as we headed to my room. My roommate made a comment about “of course you’re going to your room” in a snippy tone that felt like a jab. There have been other things said and comments made but that was the most recent example. I am worried that he is jealous that I’m spending time with my girlfriend over him? I have tried to suggest things for us to do together on our own and even invited him with my girlfriend and I but he always declines so I’ve stopped asking as much. Any advice on what to do would be helpful

The ACN refers to Woolworths as a private company and the ABN is The Woolworths Group Foundation which is categorised as a Discretionary Investment Fund. Does anyone have a picture of where the seam on the cookiebara is? Or can anyone describe where the seam is?
I am trying to open mine. From my guess, the seam starts just a centimeter above the Y at the tail area. But I can't tell if it actually starts 2cm up? I can see a white string poking out at the 2 cm mark. I'm not sure if it goes towards the head from there, or towards the tail.

My partner and I were just on Symphony of the Seas and I’m pretty sure we had a paranormal experience. This was our 8th cruise so I’d like to think we’re familiar with the sounds and motions of being on a ship.
On the first night we heard things shifting in our room (including the little coffee table) but we wanted to assume it was just the ship’s swaying that was moving things. On the third night we heard what sounded like someone plopping themselves onto the couch in our cabin. What really freaked me out was stuff not being where we left it. I initially thought my partner was messing with me but I started noticing things wouldn’t be where I left them while I was alone in the room. For example, I left my hat on my bed, went into the washroom, came out and it was on the washroom’s door handle.
Not going to lie I’m still a little spooked but if you’ve had any similar experiences on a cruise ship I’d love to know which ship you were on and what happened.

This eventually leads to her reaching out to my face as well presumably to do the same thing. All the while the purring continues until she stops and leaves of her own choice. What does this mean?

A world-class Canadian fraudster who bankrupted financial institutions, and stole a great deal of money during an era when women were not allowed to vote or get loans from the banks.

Cassie Chadwick
Born in 1857 in Ontario, she was originally named Elizabeth Bigley. The family was not well off, but was also not destitute. She was known as a liar as a child, and at age 14 opened a bank account using a fraudulent letter and a small amount of cash.
Once she had the account, she passed several worthless cheques to local stores. Being an inexperienced and young fraudster, she was caught very quickly. The courts were lenient due to her age (this was Canada, remember) and she was released without jail time.

A bit of jail time might not have gone amiss, because this was certainly just the start of her life of crime.

Three years later, aged 17, Chadwick moved to USA to live with her sister, who had married.
THE STRING OF MEDIUMS AND MARRIAGES
Chadwick did not stay with her sister very long, and paid back her hospitality by taking out a loan using the sister's furniture as collateral and moving to Cleveland.
Using this money, she rented an apartment, started calling herself Madame Lydia DeVere, and set up shop as a clairvoyant.
She operated as a clairvoyant for a while, and while under this pseudonym, married a Doctor Springsteen, who - quite frankly - should have done his due diligence.

I want to say that the Doctor's first name was Bruce, but alas, it was Wallace. It's hard to say how the doctor was fooled, but I suppose we are used to relying on digital records these days. In a world where everything is paper-based, such long-cons must have been rife.

The marriage was photographed, and it was due to this photograph that Chadwick's sister managed to catch up with her and she - and several other 'creditors' - turned up at the Doctor's home and demanded repayment of debts.
The doctor - horrified at this point - kicked Chadwick out of the house and sought a divorce, which was granted in 1883. He paid a lot of the debts out of his own pocket.
Down on her luck and now penniless again, Chadwick once more turned to clairvoyancy, only this time she was calling herself Madame Marie LaRose... and she attracted the attention of John Scott the farmer.
After four years of farming, she decided she'd had enough, claimed adultery, and filed for divorce. Having fooled him into signing a prenuptial agreement, she took a lot of his money when she left.
Chadwick returned to Cleveland in 1893, changed her name to Cassie Hoover, and... opened a brothel. During this time, she had a son, called Emil.
HUSBAND NUMBER THREE
It made a change from being a clairvoyant, I suppose... but as anyone could have predicted, she met another husband at the place, a Dr Leeroy Chadwick.

Now... you'd think that it was potentially dubious to meet One's husband at a brothel... but again it was a bit of knavery, as the good doctor was there on professional business.

As Cassie had been playing the part of the 'genteel woman' who was running a boarding house, the doctor pointed out that it was, in point of fact, a house of ill-repute.
Cassie acted horrified, pretended to faint, and begged the doctor to immediately take her away, before anyone thought she had anything to do with the place.
They married in 1897. Chadwick had not told the doctor that she had a son, or that the child was in the care of one of the women at the brothel.
Certainly, during a court case for forgery shortly afterwards (that she had managed to keep from the doctor), she identified herself as a single woman (Cassie Chadwick) with no children.
Chadwick had landed on her feet, for the good doctor was extremely wealthy, and ran in the finest social circles.
HIGH SOCIETY AND THE CARNEGIE CON
Unfortunately, Chadwick was something of a social pariah. Her tendency to try to buy favour made the wealthy withdraw from her, and she was certainly not well-loved. She was invited to events only because of the social standing of her husband.
Chadwick began spending up large, running up many debts, before turning her hand fully to forgery and the con to end all cons.
The plan was relatively complex, and involved inveigling herself into the affairs of the extremely wealthy Carnegie family in New York.
Chadwick convinced her husband's lawyer to accompany her to the Carnegie residence. She went inside and spoke to the housekeeper, and upon returning, 'accidentally' dropped a forged promissory note for $2 million with the signature of Carnegie himself!

That's roughly $50 million in today's money.

The lawyer picked it up and returned it to her, but not before reading it, and the bait had been taken. He was fooled.
He now believed that she was the illegitimate daughter of Andrew Carnegie, one of the wealthiest men in America, and that Carnegie was paying her off.
After she claimed that Carnegie had been doing this for a while, and that she had $7 million in other notes, and was set to inherit $400 million upon Carnegie's death, the lawyer set her up with a safety deposit box and a promise of utmost discretion.
... which he broke almost immediately.
Upon hearing that Chadwick was the heir to the Carnegie fortune, banks and other institutions across North America and Canada started offering her services and lines of credit at horrendous interest rates.
The bankers all assumed that Carnegie would vouch for any debts and that they would be fully repaid anyway once Carnegie died. They declined to check further, because nobody wanted to embarrass Carnegie or reveal that they knew his 'dirty little secret'.
One person, however, who had loaned Chadwick almost $200,000 became concerned when he heard about all of the other loans that Chadwick had accumulated.
Indeed, she had bought diamond necklaces, enough clothes to fill 30 closets, and a gold organ of all things.
This creditor - Herbert B. Newton from Massachusetts - demanded repayment of the debt, and when repayment was not forthcoming, approached Carnegie directly.
Carnegie, of course, denied ever knowing Chadwick, and grumbled that he had not signed a promissory note in more than three decades.
So it all began to fall apart, as of course it was always going to. Creditors demanded money, and there was no money. Individuals sued, organisations sued. Charges were laid.
Chadwick was arrested while trying to flee Cleveland, and was found with a money-belt containing $100,000 on her.
Doctor Leeroy Chadwick filed for divorce immediately and fled with the rest of his family to Europe.
Though how he noticed his wife playing a gold organ without asking a few questions is something that should potentially be explored further.
The news of Chadwick's arrest sent the Cleveland banking community into uncontrolled spasms. One bank, which had loaned her close to a million dollars suffered a massive run that forced it into bankruptcy.
This was at the time the biggest financial crime in US history, and one which became front-page news around the world.

On 10 March 1905 a Cleveland court sentenced Chadwick to 14 years in prison. Chadwick never saw freedom again, and died - likely of a stroke - in Columbus penitentiary 10 October 1907.
