Zdravo AskSerbia ! This is my first time posting here. I'm not so sure what flair to add to this post, but I am an American looking at studying in/visiting Serbia. I have a few questions, but my main one is how Serbians feel about Americans.
- Are Serbians welcoming to Americans? My grandfather is Serbian, so my interest isn't random. I'd love to learn more about the country while being there and not just reading articles and watching videos.
- Would you recommend studying in Serbia? I'm 17, about four months from graduating high school and seven from entering university. My family is very encouraging when it comes to studying abroad, and are supportive financially when it comes to doing so. I plan on studying IT, as I already have an internship and experience working in it. Are there a lot of American students in Serbia? From what I've read (and the number of programs available), there aren't a ton, but I could very well be wrong.
- If not studying, what about vacationing? Would you recommend it for solo female travelers? (In a few years from now.)
Overall, I'm just very (very) nervous about being disrespectful (my worst nightmare in a foreign place!) I know people online are often a loud minority, but I did get virtually yelled at in a comment section for expressing interest in Serbia as an American.

I’ve been on an emotional journey for years trying to uncover the truth about my biological father. I’m a 30-year-old single mom, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized just how much my mom has kept hidden or lied about. I wanted to share my story here because I know I’m not alone, and I’m hoping for advice or support.
When I was in 3rd grade, my mom had me take a DNA test with a man without explaining why. Years later, I found out the test confirmed he wasn’t my father. Despite this, she tried to involve him in my life years later in confusing ways, which left me frustrated and even more lost.
At 21, my mom told me my biological father was Nigerian. She gave me a last name, “Olotunde,” and a nickname, “Olu,” saying his family lived in New York. She shared conflicting details over time, such as how his sister was supposedly supportive but thought my mom had an abortion. She even gave me a Facebook contact for someone she claimed was connected, but they never responded.
Later, I found someone on Instagram who matched the supposed sister’s description, but she told me the name was common and her brothers were too young to have been involved with my mom. She offered to meet, but I didn’t follow up.
At 24/25, I took a 23andMe test. It showed I was 13% Nigerian and 86% Sierra Leonean. For years, I focused on the Nigerian part, assuming the Sierra Leonean ancestry came from my mom. In 2024, a conversation with a family member caused me to revisit my results, and I realized my mom’s story didn’t add up.
When I confronted her and shared my DNA findings with people close to her, she became defensive, hung up on friends who tried to help, and refused to provide answers.
Growing up, my mom isolated me from her biological family and kept me around a non-biological “family” who treated me like an outsider. I was forced to take on responsibilities far beyond my age, like cooking and babysitting, while also enduring years of sexual abuse from my stepfather, which my mom ignored. Despite everything, I’m determined to uncover the truth about my father and break the cycle of lies and neglect.
Has anyone here had success in finding the truth about a parent with limited information? Or dealt with similar family secrets? I’d appreciate any advice, especially about tracing Sierra Leonean ancestry or finding a biological father with little to no leads. Also I feel like I need to let this be known about who mom really is and step father.

Sometimes you’ll hear one growl/moan at the other. It’s only been a couple weeks of them being around each other. Just wondering since I’ve not done this in many years.

Kyle Richards is showing her true colours this season. And everything in the previous seasons is finally making sense.
Kyle totally went to see Boz to try to win her over because she can’t handle someone on the show (especially of colour) not liking her. She shuts down Sutton over the truth which is that Mau cheated on her x100 times (no proof… but proof, I’ve heard people have signed NDAs sent from Kyle regarding Mau), in the past she would go after any housewife who would go against her and if they were weak enough for her to go after.
I’m just so appalled by her. I really am. She’s just all an act and I see her so differently than I used to at the beginning of the show. Looking back now, I do believe she put up a facade regarding her marriage and is truly someone who’s insecure but has projected it in the worst ways, not to make herself become a better person.
Anyone with me on this? What’s your thoughts on Kyle 14 seasons later?
P.S. What’s with her mouth and lisp? All of a sudden she can’t talk?

It seems not matter how pinpoint my shots are I'm either A) doing REDUCED damage or B) getting killed faster by somone who is perfect tracking me through multiple trains, cover, and movement. I know hit scan is part of it but this is ridiculous when I feel like I'm fighting cheaters every single match. Shot a dude 2x in the face with an oni shotgun just to get 55 shield damage each shot. That's literally because that was the only thing sticking over the rock. Then in the final 1v1, I lost because I got hit with a shotgun bullet FURTHER away than I hit the dude with an oni shotgun and got practically 1 tapped, my shots seemingly doing no damage.

This person reached out to me on LinkedIn and asked to have a quick call with me to know more about my company. It was a normal request that I usually got and I did that a couple of times early in my career when looking for a job, so I accepted. The conversation actually went well, and he mentioned that he was laid off recently and was looking for a job. I felt bad for him and sometimes I would help people if I felt like their resumes were good and they were a good fit, so I asked if he had any roles that he was interested in. I mentioned to him that there was this really good role they were hiring for and that I was very familiar with, and I actually knew one of the hiring managers. I said I would pass along his resume to that hiring manager for this particular role if he was interested in that role after reviewing the job description (he wasn’t aware of the role when we talked). A few days later, he sent me his resume and said he was very interested in the role I mentioned (let’s call it Role A), and that he would appreciate if I could share his resume to the hiring manager. So far, my interactions with him had been good until he said that he had put me down as a reference for Role B. After knowing this, I was super uncomfortable because first of all, I was not comfortable being put down as a reference for a role that I was not aware of; and second, a normal person would have asked first right? So I told him I didn’t know about this role so I couldn’t help him, and hope that he took my hint although my name was probably already in the system. I still passed along his resume for Role A because I understand he must be quite frustrated being unemployed. After that, I got busy and totally forgot about this. No one in my company contacted me about Role B that he put me down as a reference. After 3-4 months, he contacted me again. He said he was still looking for a job and HAD PUT ME DOWN AS A REFERENCE FOR ANOTHER ROLE. This role was actually similar to Role A but for a different start date. I guessed Role A and B he applied for didn’t work out. I was actually pissed off at this point and told him directly that I was completely not comfortable. He said sorry that he should have asked.
