2025.01.20 05:30 bigphildogg86 Open World Fun!
Hello!
My party has done great and I've enjoyed the campaign a lot. We have just finished the flying misfortune side quest. They had Felgolos fly them to Ascore over the course of 6 nights. I had an ambush at one point in the mountains.
I also had them land at the edge of Arn Forest where they encountered the rock gnomes there.
As they were leaving Graevelwood in the morning I thought I'd add some flavor and have the gnomes report that fire giants had wanted near the edge of the woods and headed north.
Now at this point as far as main story - my party has not been to the Temple of the All Father. They have a broken conch from the Hill giant den as I wanted them to be able to go there but not teleport yet to the storm giant hold.
Now I want to let them investigate the fire giants but I realized if they follow the trail of the fire giants north from Arn forest I was going to have those giants be heading to Ironslag. But if they do Ironslag now they'll get a conch. Well before they really know or understand what the conchs are for. Could be kind of hilarious if they just teleport to the storm giant hold with no idea what is happening.
I also have a side plot planned for the quest from the temple for them to instead of doing the mounds get an artifact important to the oracle from the evermoors where my Lizardfolk Ranger PC is from and has bad history.
If they skip that I can probably not work that in lol. I could make the fire giants be going somewhere else though. They could be doing to citadel Adbar or somewhere else.
Any good thoughts or ideas here? It's fun either way I'm ready to roll with it - it was just a small detail I added that I in no way thought they would decided to try to chase down.

The love interest is trapped in a house and he has been seventeen for a really long time. This weird thing that impersonated him had met the girl's mom and kissed the mom resulting to the conception of the protagonist 😭 (it's fantasy)
At one point she sort of time-travels.

2025.01.20 05:30 fluffyskeleboi Ranch Pals picking up their drops?
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but the ranch pals are picking up their drops and not putting them away. Even the chikipi who doesn't even have transporting is collecting eggs into their pocket dimension. I have no idea where these items are going as once they disappear into the pal, there's no way to get them back. This is a private dedicated server through shockbyte that is lightly modded with Base Range Ultimate Edition to make the bases a bit bigger.
I'm not sure how to fix this, we've restarted the server and adjusted a setting based on this post but it didn't seem to fix it either (though we did 100 instead of 3000 in an effort not to break things. We might try that next but we don't want to have to restart again and make everyone wait.) Either way, we are criminally low on wool because of this and some players are becoming very irritated. (And yes we've tried rebuilding the ranch, taking pals out and putting them back in, and using different pals.)
(Hopefully my flair isn't wrong, I couldn't decide between modded, bug, or server support)

There seem to be a couple different categories of stax commanders, and was hoping people could give some thoughts on the different approaches to selecting a general, and the pros and cons of each type.
The first is the most obvious. A powerful stax piece itself. This is stuff like [[Gaddock Teeg]], [[Lavinia, Azorious Renegade]], and [[Grand Arbiter Augustine IV]]. This seems to have the upside of consistently being able to shut down at least one axis of “unfair” magic, or a consistent source of taxes or other way to slow the pace.
The second would be a way to break parity. This is stuff like [[Urza, Lord High Artificer]], [[Derevi, Imperial Tactician]], [[Brago, King Eternal]], and [[Winota, Joiner of Forces]]. This doesn’t help you stop anything, but it does mean once other people are slowed down or locked up, you’re able to still function and start working towards a win.
The third main category seems to be combo pieces. [[Urza, Lord High Artificer]]…again, [[Heliod, Sun-Crowned]], and [[Zur, the Enchanter]] are some examples. You’ll still need to break parity, but won’t need to worry about holding everyone in check as long, since your win con will be faster and more consistent.
Which type of commander is your favorite for stax? What are the upsides and downsides of the different types?
