Psychological question about motivation

Hello folks. Does anyone happen to know if there's a term for a phenomenon (or maybe 'psychological condition':o) whereby a person feels nostalgia for a place he's never been to or a time he's never lived in? I can't think of anything to add, really, to this remarkably short question. Hi, According to one of the dictionaries I own, "dedicated to" cannot be followed by the original form of a verb; it must be followed by a noun, pronoun, or gerund, because "to" here is not a to-infinitive. However, I came across so many sentences using "dedicated to be" and "dedicated to do"... I would say "obsess over" is informal, mainly because that's how I've heard people use it. I don't recall hearing it years ago so my impression is it came along after "be obsessed with." In my 1970 AHD it says "obsess: 2. to harass or beset like an evil spirit; haunt as a fixed idea." I believe "fixed idea" is an older psychological diagnosis. Im stagnating heavy with making my game, my life right now is literally in shambles as in im not 100% sure ill even have a place to live next month and im basically playing a waiting game with my employer and landlord hoping i can make enough money to make ends meet. All in all im stressed.
I'm just wondering has anyone here had life get in the way of their game dev journey? is stress a valid reason to stagnate? Physically theres nothing stopping me from making my game i just sit down and feel ridiculous trying to make a game thatll probably take 10 years to finish and wont make any money. It feels like i need to focus on more important stuff. if anyones been in this funk howd you get out of it, should i just put off game dev until im more comfortable?

Hey y'all! (36F) A bit of background is that I started smoking cigarettes regularly when I was 15, and that continued on for 10 years or so. I switched to vaping by doing both vaping and smoking simultaneously for a few months and then I picked a date to drop the cigs and stick to vape-only. That worked... but then vaping became a full-blown, even harder to stop addiction. I had only ever intended it to be temporary, but 10 more years flew by in the blink of an eye.
On October 27th, 2023 I realized I had a serious drinking problem and I decided to quit. In the months leading up to my 1 year alcohol free anniversary, I started thinking about using that date as my quit vaping date. Mentally preparing for months and having a significant date picked out ahead of time was one of the most helpful things when it came to me getting started.
86 days ago, on October 26th, 2024 I took my very last hit off a vape (that still had plenty of juice and a full battery! I know!!). This has been one of THE MOST difficult addictions that I have ever attempted to address. It has NOT been easy, but I am so glad that I am where I am today and I am very confident in this being a permanent change in my life. Here are some things that helped me:
Nicotine patches: I am still using nicotine, but coming off the patch down the road will be a piece of cake compared to the vape. I started off white knuckling my first 3 days and when I had one too many close calls, I got set up to have free nicotine patches delivered to me in the mail through my states smoking cessation program. I started off using the 7mg (Step 3 - lowest dose) but then I realized it wasn't quite enough, so I asked my doctor to send in a RX for the 14mg (Step 2- middle dose) patches to my pharmacy since I now knew they were something that I found helpful. I have BC/BS and I had no copay picking them up. Both the patches that I got from the state program and through my pharmacy were NicoDerm CQ brand.
*wanted to add that gum and lozenges were never a good option for me because they legit made my throat feel like it was closing*
Nicotine inhaler: I never really hear anyone talk about it but I've actually had a prescription for this for a couple of years (I've wanted to quit for a really long time but have not been successful until now). I never found the inhaler useful before because I wasn't able to get that throat-hit feeling. Well apparently that's because vaping was maybe destroying the nerve endings in my throat? Idk, all I know is that I wasn't able to feel it before, when I was actively still vaping but now that I am off the vape, I can feel it in my throat and it is super helpful, much more so now that I am not inhaling anything else. Those when through my insurance as well and I got gigantic box of cartridges for it, no copay. Those are Nicotrol brand.
Hand-to-mouth solutions: In the very beginning, I went through sooo many bags of Dill Pickle flavored Sunflower seeds, lol. They were in my lap, EVERY time I got in my car to drive. I've also been chewing fruity sugar free gum a lot and eating chewy, fruity candies. I always vaped fruity flavors, so this helps a lot. There are also these things I found on Amazon, that I liked a lot in the first few weeks as well. Here's a link for what I am talking about:

So, yea. Long post, I know. Sorry. I hope at least one person who reads this finds something helpful in it. Again, I feel very confident in the permanence of this journey, and I wasn't even sure if I would be able to do it before I started. At some point down the road, I will stop using the nicotine inhaler and then after that I will stop using the patches. I am not rushing it though. I still have urges to vape all the time.
Just wanted to add real quick that throughout this challenging time, I have been raising two littermate boy kittens who are both so wild, that dealing with them made me almost cave many times. A few weeks into quitting I was cleaning my room and I found a Pineapple Strawberry vape, still in the plastic packaging! It was such a triggering moment that came out of nowhere and nearly destroyed all my progress. I tossed it across my room, left and closed the door and immediately distracted myself with something else. When I was ready, I went back in and thoughtfully placed it front-and-center on my dresser. I see it now, every time I enter my room and knowing that it's there and I have actively chosen not to tear it open and take a hit countless times, continues to build my confidence.

I turned 59 on 29/12/24 (Dec 29th) I'm filipino, have pretty good skin and had been having success with the Il Makiage skin care line. I purchased the Froya Organics sustem for mature skin after being bombarded with ads online, seeing it was "all natural" and help build my skin barrier. Also, their ads touted the dangers of retinol and how bad it's long-term use was.
I jumped right in with the Froya products and was hoping for the best considering the hefty price tag. The balms all felt very thick, heavy and waxy, like putting vasoline on my face. But still, I stuck with it.
For several nights my skin felt itchy, but I figured it was just my face getting accustomed to the "organic"/natural ingredients. After a couple of weeks trying to get used to the itching, I noticed my skin had weird dry patches, almost like eczema or some sort of contact dermatitis. Instead of disappearing my fine lines not only seemed to deepen, but there was quite a few more. Has anyone experienced this? My cheeks feel raw and the surface of my face is no longer smooth, but has fine bumps - like hives.
It's been nearly a month. I understand consistency is key but I actually look worse, not better. Also, I can barely tolerate the itching. Anyone else!?

I've read that if your boot is the right fit, your feet shouldn't get cold. I was out on my first cold day with new boots. It's was around 10 degrees give or take 5 degrees with wind. My feet were pretty cold, is this expected at these temps? I was wearing a SmartWool targeted vision sock..it's pretty thin.
