I am creating a datapack for a skyblock world. To generate islands, I am teleporting an armor stand to a random location in the void (into unloaded chunks), then teleporting the player to the armor stand and using a series of fill commands to generate the island. The problem is that the island is not generated because those chunks are not yet loaded. What can I do?
I have come up with two methods that both work by scheduling the generation function. The problem is that the delay can vary based on server load, etc. So sometimes 20 ticks is enough, while other times the whole island or half of it is not generated.
Method 1:
- Teleport the armor stand
- Forceload a 3x3 chunk around it
- Wait for the chunks to be loaded and generate the island
- Teleport the player
Method 2:
- Teleport the armor stand
- Teleport the player hundreds of blocks above the island with slow falling effect
- Wait for chunks to be loaded
- Teleport the player to the island (or let them fall down for a cinematic effect)
So is there a better solution to fill an area immediately after teleporting the player?

The story takes place in modern day Los Angeles, CA, and legality is not an issue here. I need a way for the protagonist to listen in on police radio frequencies without them being aware that he’s doing it.

Maybe I just want to feel loved. You say you have leniency with me, but that's got to be bullshit. I put up with a lot more shit than your mind may comprehend. Yet you always shoot for the closest thing to you because it's easier. I can't always explain my feelings, but yet you can't seem to understand that. I have less than a year to figure out my life, and yet I'm failing. I'm constantly staying up panicking and hyperventilating because I don't see a future. But I also see death, death of myself because I don't know what I'm going to do with my life. But I'm scared of dying because that means leaving you, we have been having a lot of arguments lately, and you even said you don't see us lasting long. I spent a year planning my future around you, and now you're threatening to take it away; I would have nothing; I'm not ready to be an adult; I don't feel I have the mind of an adult or even close. I know what I want, but I can't achieve it due to my anxiety, which apparently, according to everyone, "needs a proper diagnosis." ... like I think I'd know that panicking and being unable to do a lot of things because I constantly feel scared or uncertain. I don't need a diagnosis to tell me that my fear is holding me back from not only opportunities but from my own fucking life.
