I was listening to Zizek last night and a quote stuck with me, for the life of me I can’t find the video but I can paraphrase.
“Regardless of your overdetermination, you are radically responsible for your overdetermination, and are also responsible for your responsibility.”
By overdetermination, I think he means the subject being psychologically determined to an extent through genetics, childhood experiences, parents, fate, and societal systems (structuralism), which causes adverse life situations and maladaptive psychological behaviours. (Or non adverse life situations, and adaptive psychological behaviours for that matter).
The subject could use their overdetermination as an excuse not to be responsible (since how could I be responsible for something that isn’t my fault?). But must take a radical stance of responsibility regardless.
Regarding “responsible for your responsibility”, I’m pretty sure this is a Hegelian claim which I understand superficially but is mostly out of my depth.
I know he is an odd mix of Hegel and Lacan. But regarding the specific paraphrase, is my reading of it accurate?
And I’d like to know more about it, specifically the notion of - being radically responsible regardless of your overdetermination and misfortune. So if someone could point me in the right direction and let me know their thoughts I’d appreciate it.

 | Dear EVGA I contacted you recently after having to issues with my RTX3090 24-G-P5-3987-KR original card SN#2214.... to RMA my original card since october 2024 Until today ( january 20, 2025) i have had RMA the card again and again due to multiple issues and troubleshoots with the cards that i recieved from you rma team : ( original card purchased in 25 May 2022 ) - KR version has a 3 year warrenty so its valid up to 24 May 2025 while in registration the card was mentioned warranty valid up to 15 april 2025 only 😞 1. First original card boaught was having 100% load and black screen issue since october 2024 as mentiond in the support .. power limit worked absolutly fine (420w to 450w stock bios) 2. Rma accepted and replaced card SN2214103987xxxxxx with SN2419203987475001.... rev1.0 board..... with red accents recieved in november 2024 , the card power limit was 420w as usual but the card was unstable on high frequencies light gaming loads which was troubleshooted thoroghly with additional test so rma was accepted again 3.third card was recieved in january 02, 2025 with black accents (SN2419203987504001)rev0.1 card with black accents and it does has power limit issue ( card cannot reach 420w stock power limit ) and 2 days ago you mentioned that there are no new cards available of this model while your support was willing going to approve a 3rd RMA due to this issue as the card did not crash while power usage was limited to 310w to 340w only ! Limiting its boost clock under heavy loads not to reach the advertised 1800mhz boost We didnmany trouble shoot steps i even bought a newer higher PSU 1200w just to make sure its not the card fault and tried many benchmarks We ended up confirming the card cannot reach the 420w stock bios limit The card is clearly artifically power limited in some way thats beyond the vbios control ( already flashed the appropriate evga ftw3 ultra XOC bios for resizable bar support and 500w unlocked +119% ... the card still pulls waaaay less than expected power at 340w or so which is limiting the boost clocks under 1800mhz ) I have been troubleshooting over a week now with no better results After all this frustration I sent the support my ultimatum conditional RMA : 1. requesting an upgrade to a newer card version ( 3090ti ) as they are newer and less prone to power issues ( i really care about the card performance and longtivity as i do not want to upgrade my card and 24gb vram is the minimum required for my workload now )... i am paying lots of fees for customs and shipping while you suggested last time to send the waybill from your side which is appreciated 👏 2. In case you cannot replace with a newer card as i mentioned up, I requested a partial refund as well incase you want the card returned to be or kept as defective ( as this is the 3rd card from the same model recieved with inconsistent issues ) while i mentioned how much i paid for the card originally The support replied today that the card is performing to nvidia spec of 350w as the 420w mentioned is considered an overclocking value ????? Why wouldn't i buy from nvidia 3090 directly then ? That card would performed to specs as needed ... evga cards should be enthusiast grade not just only confirming to work as per specs !!!!! If anyone of EVGA management team can work this thing out as this is really shocking to hear from evga support 😔 ... i want the card to perform as expected with its original bios not just to have their spec aligned with nvidia I have many vidoes and proofs ready to be shared of the issues of the cards i mentioned and i would like to have a solution asap as i am sick of diagnosis submitted by snipernote to EVGA [link] [comments] |

I’ll keep it short and simple.
Like I said, my building is very very old. I can hear my neighbours upstairs and next to me. My downstairs neighbours complain to me via text about how loud I am, they’ve messaged me so much over the first year I was there. At the beginning I would reply and say something like sorry I’ll be more mindful but I always felt it was unfair as I was doing normal chores at normal hours 9-10pm after 930pm I’m always mindful but damn I was getting complains at 11am. Second year in, I was tired of them. Third- I blocked them. (Is that bad?)
My landlord agrees with me and since they filed a formal complaint they made arrangements for my apartment to be “less noisy” by putting carpet floors- the problem is the house itself so even when I walk on the carpets- it creaks. They started messaging me from another number to complain and I don’t know what else to do.
Not sure if I’m sharing to hear solutions or just to vent but my God, they are so oblivious of the fact that we all hear each other(tenants from upper floors) , but they only hear me. And it pisses me off 😡

Full disclaimer: I am developing a 3D Object creation and product configurator product and want to understand Shopify business owners mindset on 3D.
“Research shows that 93% of consumers want to use AR to find and purchase products and 40% are willing to pay more for the products marketed through AR.”- Not me, Shopify thinks so.
But still when I am talking to different shop owners, they thinks 3D/AR is a “Nice to have”. If you have 100 product variation, how can I show them without 3D!! My questions to you is do you think 3D is the future for commerce? Are you adopting ? If not, what’s blocking you?

2025.01.20 08:14 0llie0llie I did not realize that Steve Zahn is such an incredible actor until this show. His performances in season 2 moved me.
“Solo” Jimmy was such a sad and unexpected character. It was obvious when he first interacted with Juliette he’d been lonely and isolated, but never having read the books I did not realize just how long he’d been in there. He still talked and act like a kid because he never had adult role models to teach him how to be a man. The majority of his life had no friends, no human conversations, not a single hug since he got locked into that vault to be spared from death. Everything about his behavior totally makes sense, even convincing himself he’s someone else. And it made me so sad. I wished I could give him a hug and reassure him while watching him remember his past, and I’m getting tears now just thinking about it. I want to rewatch the whole season just to play his scenes out again. The writing is great, but it’s the actor who landed it.
I looked up Steve Zahn’s acting history and I’m both surprised and not surprised by how much varied work he’s done. I always perceived him as a comedy dude. I don’t think I’ve seen him play anything serious before, but damn, he really played that middle-aged-12-year-old right.

I was in an Arranged marriage setup and things moved very swiftly.
We both okayed each other in 2 days, marriage got fixed in a span of 1 month and Roka was done a month ago. We were deeply in love with each other. Post Roka on the same day our families had exchange of words and the marriage was on the verge of collapse. Things got back to normal again in a week. We were cruising along and I started to feel she wasn’t fully into it, even though she seemed to give it everything. A feeling that I was constantly revolving around her struck me and I started to have second thoughts about the entire thing. I felt she wasn’t transparent about something. I would repeatedly(2-3 times) convey to her that I was having second thoughts about marriage and she stuck around and consoled me. Finally a couple of days ago I found something on her social media profile which she hadn’t mentioned to me during our talks and called it out as I was disturbed. Things escalated quickly and the marriage was called off.
Now I want to know will I be able to get over her or was it myself that sabotaged the marriage.

2025.01.20 08:14 Jegan237 Subtitles timings are always changing each time I load the film. And now another post has made me question if I'm going insane.
So I'm watching a film, on my second monitor while I dick around with other things on my main. So I'm not watching this film in one sitting.
The first time I loaded subtitles for this film, the timing was off by about 2.2 seconds. I know because I offset them by exactly -2200ms and it was perfect. However, the next day when I loaded up the film (same set up) the subtitles were already on but again, the timings were off. I assumed it reset so went to offset them again but saw that it still sat at -2200ms.... I had to adjust by another 2.2 seconds to -4400ms.
Then this morning, low and behold, it was off again and I've just had to set it to -6600ms to get it right. What's going on here?
Also the bit that's making me go insane., I saw another post saying where everyone agrees that hitting "-" makes the subtitles come in earlier and "+" offsets them to come in later... but I can assure that's not the case here. My subtitles were already early and setting to minus made them come in later.
