I work in an Anglican church on Sundays(not in the clergy) and I am not trying to sound like a "victim" who thinks Christians are being treated badly in the West, but the amount of disrespect towards a holy place from outsiders, locals, tourists and other people is infuriating. I constantly need to remind tourists not to take pictures or film while Mass and other services are going on; influencers taking selfies and pose for photoshoots in front of the altar; Drunk weirdos mocking the Choir or laughing with their friends; People sitting in the pews eating food; Random tourists who just get in and ask me if they can use the toilets while the priest is serving Eucharist, as if the church was a train station; people leave trash, plastic bottles, bags of crisps in the pews and in front of the church (without talking about the piss and vomit on the gates ). And so many more weird behaviors. I understand that after covid people forgot how to behave, but I feel like I'm working as a bouncer with the amount of people I need to kick out, and I get frustrated on how people treat a place of worship.
Mind you these are all westerners who were brought up in a Christian culture, Brits, Spanish, Italians, French, Americans.. the most respectful people I encounter are South Asians and middle eastern or Arab.
Dont know maybe it's just normal for a city centre church but it is still mind boggling to see how much disrespect people have for it.

2025.01.20 11:11 tapgiles Graphics Card Update Fix
(You may not have this problem, that's fine. If you do have this problem, this is how I fixed it... once I figured out what was going on.)
I use my ROG just plugged into my TV, as a Windows gaming PC. My TV doesn't like 4K60, and when it receives such a signal it just shows green fullscreen, flickering, with no audio.
There is something Windows 11 has where it actually has two resolutions. There's the "desktop mode" resolution and framerate. And the "active signal mode" resolution and framerate. I active signal set to 1080p60, so I'd have a responsive display but the TV could display it. But desktop mode at 4K60 which, for whatever reason, looked better once the TV got hold of it.
When I updated the graphics driver through Armoury Crate, the active mode got reset to the desktop mode's settings. So the screen was now green and flickery. Whereas before it knew what the TV could handle and would just set it to something usable at least.
This time I skipped talking to ASUS support, as all they seem to know about is how to cloud-wipe your device--skipping any diagnosis or confirmation steps to figure out what solutions to try.
Anyway... to get the resolution to change to something usable again, first log in to Windows (you may have to unplug it from the TV to see what you're doing, then plug in again so you can change the display settings for the TV).
Use Windows + P to cycle through external-monitor-display-modes. You want to get to the "extend" mode, and wait for it to apply. This will automatically change the resolution to something usable. Then you can change back to whatever you had before (I had it on display-2-only).
Note though that next time it loads up, it will have reset itself, leaving you with that green broken mess. This is because it didn't actually store the newly set active signal settings, somehow. To directly set the active mode, go to Settings > System > Display > select the monitoTV > Advanced display > Display adaptor properties for display 2.
This shows you an old windows dialog box with... other settings for the display. (Don't ask me why Windows has multiple different types of settings in different places. I don't think even MS remembers at this point.)
Click "List All Modes"--these are the signal modes. Select the one you want it to use, and click OK. That's made the signal mode "active." And it actually stores it properly in Windows, so that next time you boot the machine it will actually remember it and won't give you the green flickering mess.
On another note, I've found over the few months that the machine just likes to break itself. Unclear what the cause is for it to break in different ways with seemingly no change from me. But that's what it does. (And of course ASUS just tells you it's bricked and needs a cloud-wipe every time, even if it doesn't.)
I've tried stopping Windows Update from doing anything, but Windows likes to reactivate it anyway. So right now, whenever I update or install anything I make a new Restore Point. (Search through the start menu for it. It's in one of those old-style settings, and doesn't exist in the new Windows 11 settings.)
Restore Points save... stuff about your machine, and you can roll back to an older restore point if something goes wrong. So hopefully next time the ROG breaks itself I can do that and continue using it, or have a change to figure out what caused it with an actually working machine. Maybe.
Honestly, despite the fun I've had with it, I wanted to return it because it's just so unstable, the support is so poor for the end user, and it looks like there's not going to be any fix for that. Like, ever. But, it's past the return date so I'm stuck with it. Hopefully it just keeps working for a while before it breaks itself again. But who knows?

I have a video I want to upload onto my channel as a short to get it started but I found to my dismay that it was recorded in 16:9, is there an app or program I can use to convert it to a 9:16 format without zooming into it?
