2025.01.20 11:10 Anihalas Old bike (1999) → New Bike. (Quintana Roo V-PRi)
Even though my last year was terrible. (don't look up my results) I kept enjoying the triathlons I did and I managed to save and purchase my dream bike, a Quintana Roo V-PRi. With 70.3 Valencia, Challenge Roth and Challenge Almere coming up this year, and now, not having to save for a bicycle, being able to pay a coach, I started my first week of training under guidance! I wanted to show these bikes to say how excited I am about the future and how much I enjoyed my participation in the past. And that anyone doubting if a road bike is enough should know that it is! I've participated in 2 full distance events with the 1999 Giant TCR. I highly recommend a bike/saddle fitting. Both for a new and currently owned bike. It helped me to get into a position that was comfortable enough and fast enough to surprise many participants. 5:06 Bike split in Frankfurt. There were only a few things I longed for on my road bike. A better solution for drinking/fueling. This Elite bottle was slow and messy. Better brakes and that was mostly in comparison to my mountain, gravel and cargobikes. And lastly bigger tires. Whilst I have been riding since my youth on 18 and then 23mm tires. Ever since I own a second hand gravel bike with tubeless tires I have grown accustomed to the comfort and also braking later and harder. So I am way more confident going into corners and descents. It's not that the TCR was bad but I like to have the same sort of performance over all my gear. All I still need for the new bike is a bottle setup and I'm still deciding on behind the seat or behind the arms. My bike fitter is organizing a track session in march where we're going to find out what works for me. O I was the second owner of that TCR I bought it in 2002 or 2003 with my parents. So it took me a while to get bored of it or doubt its quality (which I do not) so I am going to try my best to enjoy my new ride for at least the same amount of years. It might be the first and last tri specific bike I have ever bought. It's not because I need it. It's because I love it. I hope this helps people in loving their bikes and having an excuse to buy a new bike too.
TL;DR I rode a 0,7k 1999 bike 2 full distances and bought a brand new 10k bike AmA.

2025.01.20 11:10 RakuraiMan Date change ended my sensor :(
Hey so for a reason i changed the date on my phone forward (sth like 1 month) for a few minutes and returned it to be set automatically by the network. This though caused the sensor to think that its session had ended and even after returning to the correct date its still inactive. Is there really nothing to do to reactivate it since it worked perfectly, and it would be such a waste as i put it on only a few days ago?
Also just to bring awareness because i think this is probably an oversight, and i dont think this is how it should behave.

2025.01.20 11:10 winnerpix1 i've got a new whiteboard and it won't clean easily and has a thin layer on it how to fix?
basically my whiteboard that i recently got as in a month ago when i write on it with any whiteboard pen it is really difficult to get off much harder than my other whiteboards (i've tried a microfibre cloth and spray and it made little difference) and after use the rubber that came with it has brought up little ripples with use on the plastic layer on it the layer also scratches really easily so i thought it was a peel off so i peeled off a corner and tried seeing if it was easier to write on below the layer and the ink doesn't stick should i get a new whiteboard atp or can i fix this?

He'll, I ducked up the rotation and forgotten to summon Mem for an entire freaking round and it only cost me like... 100 or less points in difference for the Four 3 and floor 4 clears. Herta's score was nigh identical both runs. I love her so much. She's fantastic! (And Fu Xuan experienced precisely 0 issues as sustain against the boss, even with Mem there. Even talking it's biggest nuke at less than full hp didn't kill her, and it was the first time all battle she'd needed to actually use her self heal.)  | I was lying in bed with my pug when he suddenly started seizing—the first time I’d ever witnessed such an event. Panicked, I rushed him to the living room, grabbed some water, and watched as he jumped into the water with his paws. I quickly brought out a large pan so he had better access to cool off. As he paced, I noticed that he seemed paralyzed on one side. The seizures continued, and I was in hysterics, realizing the gravity of the situation. Despite his slight thinning appearance, I hadn’t noticed anything amiss before he seizure at the time. Without hesitation, I called the nearest emergency vet, who advised me to bring him in for immediate assistance. I never drove faster in my life as I sped to the hospital. My pug Rolly only had brief breaks between each seizure. The situation worsened, and fluid began to seep from his nose, while his saliva bubbled. He began to cry and yelp. At one point he even went limp and I thought he had passed I tried to keep him calm, praying to any higher power for a swift arrival. On the way, a police officer stopped me, but I managed to wave at him and beg him to let me continue. He understood the urgency of the situation and allowed me to proceed. Finally, I arrived at the hospital, where everyone was waiting anxiously for my arrival. At this point, he had experienced approximately 10 seizures, each lasting around 30 seconds. The vet administered phenobarbital and fluids to help him recover. The doctor initially offered a quote of $4000 for his stay, which was a significant financial burden for me, as I’m a single mother of three. Despite my efforts, he concluded that there was a low chance of my baby surviving. He believed it was likely a disorder that would require constant and expensive treatment, and he suspected permanent brain damage. The doctor suspected either a brain tumor or a neurological disorder. During his stay, they had to administer three more doses of phenobarbital due to his frequent seizures. He even vomited once while in the oxygen tank. When I saw him in the tank, I knew this was the end—my baby was gone. He was only five years old. I had my son say goodbye to him on FaceTime, and he managed to open his eyes for a second before trying to move but failing. He started whimpering in pain. I held him as long as I could before they put him down. I have never cried so much in my entire life. My son and my pug were inseparable. I can’t comprehend how my dog could be fine one moment and have multiple seizures and die without warning the next. I keep wondering if I did everything I could and if it was the right decision. I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of something like this extreme happening. If any of you have insights or experiences to share, please let me know. I’m devastated and can’t stop crying. Hello, sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I am just looking for some advice. I am working for a French company, and part of the agreement of my job is that I live in company supplied housing whilst I am working here. After a fallout with my boss after she refused to pay me for overtime hours I gave my resignation. My issue is that I don’t know how long I have to leave the company housing before I get myself in trouble. The contract I have with the company has no clause on this (it is a very poorly written contract), and my boss is refusing to answer the question. Furthermore, she is trying to enter the property to collect supplies she has stored in here. I have contacted a lawyer but they are taking some time to come back to me which I don’t have right now.

I currently have a mk 5 r line golf with 170hp 200000+ km which Starts to make some Noise and is Running Rough.
I’m Doing an apprenticeship for 3 years after which I have a bachelors degree and will have a job at that company so my future is already secured. I currently earn 1000€ p/m but I have saved up a good amount so I won’t have to finance anything.
I want something that is more fun than what I currently have without breaking the bank (German car market). I want it to be comfortable enough and not too old but I’m willing to make sacrifices in exchange for a fun driving experience. I’m the type of person that would buy nicer rims if I have the money to spare. Thank you for your help.

I’m 22m and have been experiencing pain starting early December. The main symptom has been a pain when inhaling just under my ribs / RUQ. It was very mild at first, however over the Christmas period it got quite bad and I would experience a tight squeezing pain on my right side as well as an intermittent pain in the tip of my shoulder and right side of my neck. I could only sleep on my back or left side and turning over in bed would cause a sharp pain. Sometimes I can feel pain by pressing on my RUQ under my ribs
After going to the docs I got bloods for liver function, CRP, white and red blood cell count which all came back normal. An ultrasound showed my gallbladder to be ‘normal’ (no stones and thin walled).
The pain mostly went away around new years but I still experienced a deep pressure when breathing in instead of the pain. This changed around a week ago when the pain came back, and i believe i had an ‘attack’ which was severe RUQ pain when breathing in and heavy squeezing / aching pain on my right abdomen and shoulder in general. Went to the ER due to pain and they sent me home with painkillers and suspected biliary colic (no tests done due to normal temp and pain started to get better).
Fast forward to now - pain is still there but not severe. I’ve started eating lower fat to see if it makes a difference but it’s hard to tell honestly. The doctors don’t think it’s a gallbladder issue due to being a young male + my ultrasound came back normal so they’ve put my on Omeprazole to rule out a stomach ulcer which hasn’t made a difference after a week. I want to ask for a HIDA scan but it is quite difficult in the UK to get doctors to book tests for you.
