لما تخرجت من الجامعه جتني عروض وظيفيه قووويه في الرياض (انا مو من سكان الرياض) وابوي كان عادي وراضي بس امي الي كانت مشعلله البيت وصياح ولدرجه انها تبكي وتقول ترا الناس بيقولون انك تلاحقين الرجال!!!! اللاحق رجال على حساب وظيفتي وسمعتي؟؟ المهم حاولت معها واكلمها واقنعها وصلت معها انها بلكتني بالواتس وقامت تدعي علي وبس تبغاني بعد التخرج اتفرغ لها و اطبخ لهم واذاكر لاخواني الصغار (مع ان عندنا خادمه وتعرف تطبخ وانا اصلا اعرف اطبخ ما يحتاج تسوي تبريرات) المهم ان امي كانت متعشمه اني بتزوج بعد التخرج طوالي مثل ما سووا بنات اقاربي بس الحين مضى على تخرجي سنتين ومافي احد دق الباب او الجوال
والحين وحده من خالاتي بنتها تخرجت وتجي امي تقنع خالتي بان بنتها لازم تروح الرياض فيها فرص وهذا رزقها اذا جتها وظيفه بالرياض وانواع الدعاوي للتوفيق لبنتها!! صراحه مررره تنرفزت اني ضيعت سنتين من عمري وعطاله ومافي مصروف لي وفجأه تغير تفكيرها وخلاص صارت متقبلته على بنات الناس! مررره عصبت الصدق لان كنت مجتهده بالجامعه مررره وفاهمه كويس بتخصصي وكنت اتمنى وظيفه بمكان حلو ويليق فيني (انا اعيش بمنطقه مافيها شركات كبيره وحتى الوظائف بعد مافيها)

I know many on here have angst over what is going on to happen in the next 4 years to the civil service. Fear of the unknown is always the worst. One thing from my position I’d like to stress is to make sure to follow managerial direction ( especially if it’s in writing). I am just making an educated guess that insubordination cases will be jumping. The only way to protect yourself if you choose to not to follow it is if you can prove it is illegal ( violates federal statute). So if you disagree with something do as directed, do an email to the person who issued the directive on what you believe it violates ( if you desire) & grieve if you are covered by a CBA.
Just don’t want to see any good employees harmed by protesting against what I’m sure are going to be a raft of Executive Orders that are not….. productive.

I'm in a situation where I have to decide on a PhD based on funding certainty, or a topic which I think I'd enjoy more, but the funding is uncertain.
Due to deadlines and relationships at either university, I can't apply to both and see which works out (in case I have to back out of one), so I have to decide prior to applying.
I've been let down by funding multiple times before, so I'm tempted to go for the potentially less interesting topic because funding is one less thing to stress about. Is this a bad idea?
There's also a third option which has funding and a cool topic, but I'm very unsure about the supervisor, which is a huge red flag to me.

I got a lot of mixed feedback about whether I should go to Montreal or not, but I'm glad I did. The city was stunning in January—definitely not as cold as Chicago, which was a pleasant surprise! I loved exploring the food scene; Little Portugal had some hidden gems, Fairmount Bagels were delicious, though I have to admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of poutine (sorry, poutine lovers!).
Montreal is massive! I was wandering around, checking out shops, and ended up walking 4 miles without even realizing it. The architecture is gorgeous, and the people are incredibly friendly. One funny encounter: a lady got upset that we didn’t speak French, but then she switched to Spanish—and I speak Spanish! That totally threw me off, in the best way.
