2025.01.20 14:40 Broad-Cranberry-9050 Lost my job this week after being lead to believe i would still be here in a few months.
I just got fired last week. Ill be lieing if id say i didnt see it coming i just didn’t know when.
Last year there was a weird transition where my old boss (call OB) got promoted and was my new boss(call NB) manager. But OB still oversaw everything, NB just took over.
Last year i worked with a more senior member. He is one of those guys who is very who wants things done his way and criticzes any person who doesnt really listen to him or does things slightly differently. I.e. he criticized the fact that i used the mouse to scroll instead of the keyboard. He is one of the smartest guys i ever worked with and the project basically does what he says (even managers). When i worked with him last year, i could tell he didnt like some of my methods and ways to do things. Afterwards OB (boss at the time) had all the criticisms that i felt came from the senior member. Some were fair but others i felt werent even fair and when i mentioned it to other senior members they couldnt believe my review for dinged for some of those things.
I made improvements and the NB took over. We had chats and i told him i was worried about my job due to another person losing their job due to bad performance that season. He told me not tk worry as he was willing to help me get better and even gave me new work that was supposed to span for at least 6 months.
In the last review season i got another sljghtly bad review but NB assured me he saw improvements and didnt expect me to get a bad review in the next cycle. Again giving me work that was supposed to span 6 months. Im not going to say i expected to stay the 6 months but it did give me some reassurance. I was applying on the side but the market being so bad right now i wasnt getting much traction so i mainly focused on my job.
Last week NB went on vacation. He left me a ton of work tk span until he came back in 3 weeks. OB took over and i could tell was pushing me to get more work done (i was already doing 10-12 hours) and submit documents. On tuesday OB randomly messages me and says “we havent met in some time. Wanted to catch up. You have time kn friday?”. The rest of the week, He kept asking for documents that i wrote 6+ months ago for various tasks. It shoudve been a sign but i was so busy already working 10+ hours i didnt see it. Then on friday we meet online and an hr person is there and i get the boot.
Part of me feels relieved because i didnt love this job and only really kept it due to the bad market. Part of me is annoyed because i felt i was lead in one direction and told something else. Im not sure if im annoyed at NB, i feel he was honest and maybe OB overruled him. Just made me learn how cutthroat the corporate world is.
Was OB out for my job?

New to modding Ps3, recently installed CFW and have downloaded a few ROMs and installed them on my Ps3 but a few games have given me this message or similar.
Am I safe to update here? Or will it affect the CFW on Ps3 like if I updated to the latest PSN Patch
