Ciao a tutti,
Sto da più di 10 anni insieme a quella che ormai è mia moglie.
Insieme a lei sto da dio e in 10 anni che stiamo insieme non le ho mai mancato di rispetto mezza volta.
Prima di conoscere lei ero ero stato con delle escort 4 volte e questa cosa non gliel’ho mai detta. Chiaramente ho preso tutte le precauzioni del caso e prima di farlo non protetto con lei ho fatto tutti i test possibili immaginabili per controllare che fosse tutto ok.
Anche lei comunque prima di mettersi con me so per certo avesse avuto rapporti occasionali. Uno con un mio caro amico che la sera stessa che ebbe il rapporto con lei mi mandó una foto con lei di schiena completamente ricoperta di…vabbè avete capito cosa.
Da qualche giorno sono in crisi perchè non so se dovrei confessare questa cosa a mia moglie per farle conoscere un aspetto di me che probabilmente non conosce. Non fraintendete, ai tempi ero un ragazzo e non mi pento assolutamente di quello che ho fatto. Anche perché ero single e volevo semplicemente divertirtmi un po’.

To give some context, I am a young male in my 20s. I’ve voted in both the 2020 (third party) and 2024 (D - Harris) election. My political journey has been a wild one. When I was a kid, I was raised on my grandparents’ Christian, Republican viewpoints. I held the belief for the first decade of my life that gay marriage was wrong, guns were necessary for protection, Obama was a shit president, abortion was evil, etc etc. Fast forward to middle and high school, and I got wrapped up in edgy internet humor. I was one of those “facts don’t care about your feelings” kind of guys. Deep down, I was very insecure and hateful towards a lot of people. I praised Trump and all of the other conservative cronies on YouTube like Ben Shapiro and Milo Yiannopoulos. I thought the biggest issue facing our country was not school shootings, but transgender people using bathrooms. I was really wrapped up in that hivemind. The biggest reason why I supported Trump originally was because I was a troll who hated liberals (I was only 14, it’s not like I could’ve voted anyways).
Fast forward to the 2020s and I see the reality of my support when I was a kid. Our economy in shambles, hate groups rising (and being praised by the president), a literal felon running the country, and so much more. I saw the church being combined with our government which bothered me heavily as an ex-Catholic that became agnostic. I voted for Harris in this past election. First time I ever voted democrat. But I felt it was necessary because of how fundamentally wrong it felt to vote for Trump or any of his Republican staff.
My mother, on the other hand, used to be the most liberal person in my family. She was an immigrant, someone who hated guns, had gay relatives, and overall despised Trump’s views on women. I used to get into arguments with her as a kid about this stuff because I was so brainwashed by the far-right. Well, when I talked to her recently about politics, she admitted she voted for Trump in this past election.
“Why?” Was the first thing I asked. I was stunned. All this time, I thought she stood against everything he was. How could she support a “man who hates women” (her original quote) and all of that? She said to me:
“You made a good point about him when you were younger. People these days are too sensitive. Why do we need to bother flying pride flags in schools? And he will help our economy, look at the stock market.”
I restrained myself from my anger and frustration. I don’t understand how that is the biggest issue she thought was facing our country. It seems all the Trump supporters I talked to seem to think we are in a culture war. And on the stock market — I am a business major. He is going to help shareholders sure, but he is helping the rich. Not you. There will be an artificially inflated market while he’s president and you, the common citizen, will be screwed. But at the end of the day, I felt like it was my fault that she voted for Trump. And for some reason, she would listen to a 14 year old me instead of a 22 year old me who is much wiser and more educated about current affairs.
TL;DR: I was an edgelord 14 year old who watched too many alt-right YouTube videos and argued with my liberal mother a lot. In 2024 I became democrat because of the crap that has been happening, and discovered my mom voted for Trump. She supported him because of the points I made when I was 14.

This made me feel like I should explore those guys a bit more. When I hit peak ladder, the Institute called me.
I don't mean that in some cliche “dramatic opening” sort of way - no, they literally called me. I was born after landlines died, but when we came home… there was a phone. Sleek, plastic, retro, guts visible.
Completely transparent.
It began to ring.
I recognized the sound, but the device itself fucked me - I remember thinking what a great prank my coach had pulled, checking in on us like this, and so I answered, drunk and slurring with giggles welling up like heartburn.
I can't recall what I said back then, when words flowed without that filter, the filter I always use now, to make sure everything is clear. Back then, language was an adventure. Back then, language was a hot tub and a crush and unspoken words leading to wordless exchanges.
Back then, we thought we understood things.
“Ma’am, you're needed for a national security exercise.”
I remember thinking that perhaps the rum had broken me. We were cresting the high of me topping the ranks, but we hadn't partied quite that hard. I blinked a bit, trying to ground myself as I swayed and murmured into the plastic phone.
“Wrong number,” I mumbled and then stumbled off to bed.
They gave me four hours sleep before they called again, and after that call I considered running, but what did it matter?
A helicopter was already here.

SPOILERS FOR ACT 2/PART 2 Ive seen the movie a couple times now, and noticed that when Elphaba looks at the map it lingers on the Impassible desert, which we see as well during 'Wizard and I' during her final note with a rainbow over it.
I think at the end of part 2 when Elphaba and Fiyero reunite they will fly out over the Impassible desert, over the rainbow with blue birds flying along side them as one last homage.

Hi fellow veterans. We bought a house due to a PCS and long term benefits of owning. Matter of fact we’re in the process of selling our Virginia home and should be making a great profit. The house we bought is in my hometown where we PCSd. We bought a house that we could afford on one income since my husband separated active (he’s Guard) and I’m AGR. Our future goal is to build but we’re not sure when. I don’t really want to stay in this house after a year. The neighborhood we’re in are all builder homes and the HOA is crap. There’s dogs pooping all over the streets and people not caring for their homes. What would be your advice on the future on what to do with this house and when to build. Should we try to buy land first if we plan on staying here long term?

Hi, after ~5 hours hike I took of microspikes (worn them for the first time) and realized suede is covered with "scars". I tried to brush it, and no luck.
Do you think it's a big hit for the boot or membrane? I had to use quite some force to put them on, so they cut in during the hike...

I know in general Hampton Bay is a no-no but what do people think about the quality of these cabiners:

It's all plywood (door is wood) so no MDF or particle board. The box is 0.5" plywood (so not quite 0.75" but way better than my 0.375" particle board currently). The shelves are 0.75" plywood. The price range also seems reasonable as I can upgrade my particle board 0.375" to soft close, 0.5" plywood white shaker cabinets for about $5,000. There are no actual pictures and no real reviews on it which seems weird.
So what is the general consensus on this? Crap or potentially worth it? Thanks!
