2025.01.20 22:29 koitamo AITAH for not sharing the exact schedule with my roommate?
For context I live with my friend (we're early 20s) in a decently sized apartment where we have seperate rooms at other ends. My friend doesn't like me having anyone over, such as my girlfriend, for a few days. Whenever I tell him that my girlfriend is coming over, he demands to know the exact date and time she will arrive and leave. I try my best to accomodate this, but sometimes estimates or my best guesses aren't enough. To me it is very difficult to plan things in advance to the dot, and I like to live more in the moment, if that makes sense. I would also allow him to have someone else over no problem, but he never leaves his room. Adding to that, we don't really see eachother even though we live together. It is actually very easy for us to have our own time in our rooms. He keeps telling me that "it is not fine" how I'm sometimes not sure about the specifics. I find this confusing, because many times I've had my girlfriend over, we don't even see him, nor should he be able to hear us. I am starting to feel like he's being an asshole on purpose. Am I the asshole?

2025.01.20 22:29 shanenc14 Heat Pump efficiency during Arctic/Polar blast
My landlord replaced our entire HVAC system (both indoor & outdoor equipment) with a new Carrier 2.5 ton heat pump (see attached image for model info) w/ 10kw aux heat strips over the summer, as the old Goodman system died (HVAC tech said it was 20-25 yrs old). All ductwork was replaced at the same time, and larger 6x12 floor registers installed. I'm in a single wide mobile home that was built around 1989-1990. A new roof & new insulation between the replacement roof & original roof was installed about 18 months ago. I'm in the foothills of NC about 1 hour east of Asheville. We're possibly going be seeing temps down into high single digits to low teens at night, with around -5 wind chills according to the forecast I saw this morning. I don't have a wide knowledge of HVAC or heat pump tech, and I'm not sure if this system is designed to work with temps down into the single digits w/o excessive use of aux heat strips. How can I find out what the minimum outside temp this unit was designed for? From reading some posts on this sub reddit I understand that there are models designed for cold climates, but I highly doubt this model is a "cold climate" model since it's installed in NC. Any input is greaty appreciated!

Has anyone cancelled internet / satellite services with Bell and have them tell you that you own the modems and receivers - only to have them send you a 2K bill 6 months later saying you owe them equipment? They sent us a bill for 2K saying we have to send them back the equipment we were told we own. And they also say we owe 8 satellite receivers when we only ever had 5 because when we had service installed they told us we couldn’t have more than 5 in a household. Now they say we owe them 8. We went back the interment modem, and 5 receivers we had, even after being told we own them. When their own tech guy who came to upgrade our equipment in the spring, I think it was, he took 3 of the old ones and upgraded 3 to HD PVRs. So essentially their own tech stole equipment and now we’re on the hook for it? I’m tired of fighting with cubical workers who hardly speak English and just keep saying “they’ve escalated the ticket” to this department or that department. Today I got a letter in the mail that was printed January 14th, I received it today (January 20th) saying if payment is not received by January 21, they are sending everything to collections. Meanwhile, as I sit on hold right now, they’re telling me there was an adjustment made January 15th saying they only received 4 receivers not the 5.
I’m so frustrated. A multi million dollar company is stealing and scamming (shocking I know). Their own tech guy took the equipment. So I’m at a loss. We just keep getting told an escalation manager will call us in 6-9 hours and we never hear anything.
Looking for help from anyone at this point.

 | I have a 2006 vw gti with 114k I recently replaced the engine and went to start, it wouldn’t start. The next night the fans and everything start to come on, so I looked into the ecu it looks fine to me but I’m not sure,the wiring harness was chew up by rodents and I’m worried about the timing circuit because that’s what codes it had before the engine replacement and the wiring chewed up and all, worried if I repair this wiring that if the ecu blew up will blow my timing again. Hey everyone, I've been a Spotify user for over 10 years now and I am consistently disappointed by Spotify's experience on mobile. It's clunky and feels like I'm having junk waved in my face every time I open the app. I just want to listen to my music! It feels like it's constantly getting more and more difficult to just access the music that I added to my library. Along with this, there are a number of complaints I have with features. One of them being the limit of 4 pins. I kind of rely on pins to show me my music first, but it's super limiting at 4. And it seems like this is one of the top complaints in the Spotify community. So when I can't pin an item and have to tap and scroll and search through the app to find it, it's annoying! The dashboard looks more and more like the controls on a spaceship. I'm trying to listen to music, not go to space.
So I built an app that gives me more pins. It's not the perfect solution, but it's a start. I no longer feel overwhelmed whenever I want to listen to music, and it's quickly become my goto app when I just want to put something on. I hope to continue adding helpful features to the app and would like to have some people steering me in the right direction, so any feedback is appreciated!
