2025.01.20 22:30 lil_maye4 My cat of 12 years died and I’m lost without her
Trigger warning: mental health issues, history of alcohol abuse, etc. pet euthanasia
I’m 25, she was 13 years old. Looking back on it this past year she was deteriorating pretty bad but I chalked it up to her being “old”. Despite this it was horribly sudden; she was fine a month ago. Then last Saturday: brain cancer. We had to euthanize.
I wish I’d known. I would’ve spent more time with her the night before I let them take her from me to hospitalize her. They didn’t tell me how fast the shot would work either when that time came; I always thought it was like them slowly drifting to sleep. She stopped breathing in like 2 seconds. I would’ve asked to spend more time with her instead of the 30 minutes we did. She deserved more time with us.
I already deal with anxiety and depression. I have my whole life. My childhood was abusive to say the least. I got her at the worst point of it all when I was 13, homeschooled, isolated. I didn’t have social contact with anyone but my mother and her fiancé and occasionally their friends until I was 16 basically.
For years it was just me and my cat. Every time I cried or had a mental breakdown alone in my room, she was there to love on me till I stopped. I used to have alcohol problems when I was 14-16: every time my mom would leave the house, I’d get drunk so usually a couple times a week at the least. Every time I drank myself to sleep my girl was there to lay with me till I woke.
She was my everything for so long; I used to even joke that I’d die when she died. It feels that way now. Even though I’m not alone now. I have my partner, my father— we even have a cat together my boyfriend and I. We got her 2 years ago and I love her but she just isn’t my old girl…
My heart feels so heavy and empty at the same time. I just want her back but I know I’ll never see her again, and the thought of that alone makes me want to die. Not hurt myself, I just wish I’d pass away in my sleep. I don’t want to be here without her. There’s also the crushing guilt of realizing I spent less time with her after adopting the kitten with my boyfriend. I still loved her, and I still took pictures with and of her but the volume is considerably less. I should’ve done better to still include her just as much as I did when it was just the two of us but I didn’t, and now I never can.
It’s been a week and I still don’t know what to do without her. The minute I’m by myself I sob knowing she’s gone forever. Every thing is a deafening reminder that she’s not here; she’s not on her favorite spots by the window, or my bed. A bowl with her last unfinished kibble lunch turned out to be in my room still. When I feed the other cats her kidney diet food is still sitting there never to be opened again. She’s not curled up next to my head sharing my pillow at night anymore but her fur is still stuck to it. Her old lady snoring is gone. I cant stand it but I can’t bear to hide away some of her things either.
My family is sad too but it feels like none of them feel as badly as I do, and my dad especially keeps asking me every day if I’m ok and obviously no I’m not and it feels like I never will be. But I know he’s just worried. Part of me wishes someone felt like I do about her passing but also this feels terrible and I don’t wish it on anyone. I just feel so desolate, like no one I know truly understands.

So baiscally i place down a cannon carriage and then i build a cast iron cannon that looks exactly like this
BARREL-BARREL-CANNON END then i weld it all together then i load it from the front and depending on what amunition i load into the cannon it either explodes or it just breaks the carriage and nothing else i only use 1 powder charge

Is there any reason that Lt. Jones carries an M1 carbine instead of an M1A1 carbine with folding stock like the other paratroopers? Would it be just what the armory had at the time he got issued his weapon? I’ve heard of paratroopers trading their M1A1s for regular M1s with regular troops but not sure how true it is.
