Hey everyone I am an undergraduate student from south america entering my second college year. I have always wanted to study in the US but during high school I did not know much about the process so I ended up not applying. Do you guys know if US schools give aid to international transfer students? If so, are there universities that provide better aid? Maybe full aid? Any help would be appreciated, thanks yall :)

2025.01.21 01:20 No-Locksmith-1637 I was fired from my job today
So I am making this post on a throwaway account. I am a 29 year old male, living in Pennsylvania, US. Today I went into work, and before I get into this, let me preface. From 2013-2017, I had some pretty bad substance abuse issues with opiates like heroin and later fentanyl. I was clean until 2022, at which point, my boss asks me to behgin taking my coworker to and from work because her house was on my way. I obliged, and I was in a low point-- the coworker i was taking into work was in an active addiction and i knew this, so i should have declined the rides to and from work.
This ultimately lead me to relapse. my coworker ended up going to prison in early 2023, and just got out a few weeks ago. she came in last week to reapply, and they took her back. I have been at this job since 2015. Today, I was called into HR and informed that I was being terminated because the girl who just got out of prison "doesnt feel comfortable working with me". and they are choosing to let her resume working there & firing me because she has a kid that she lost custody of, and is working to get her back, and needs a job to do so. side note: I have been clean and sober again now for almost 6 months. I have dedicated 10 years of my life to this job, I am good at this job, and I am being dropped through seemingly no fault of my own. my boss told me "well Pennsylvania is at-will employment, so we can fire you because we don't like your haircut". my boss of 10 years, who i've had over to my house and spent holidays with. I am so unbelievably hurt, it was everything i could do to not walk out of work crying.
when i inquired about unemployment, my boss chuckled and said "good luck, we have never lost an unemployment case in 15 years." Is this legal?? I own my home at least, but property tax is fast approaching and i am just panicking. I hate this. What can I do ?

Well, when I (at the time 14F, now 19) decided to go into public school for high school, my mom was worried because I hadn't been in public school since 4th grade. One fateful evening I was walking through downtown with my mom and my dad, we were talking about self defense. My mom out of nowhere then came up behind me, grabbed my shoulders, and quickly said "If someone grabbed you like this what do you do?!!" I panicked because it was out of nowhere and surprised the livin sh** out of me, so I left hooked her... I am right handed plus that was with minimum force.. I swelled up her lip, cut her lip, and broke two teeth, I could have broken my nose if I was just a little higher. AITA for punching her and having her go to the doctor?

I remember seeing a very bloody martial arts movie a while back starring Johnny Yong Bosch (from Power Rangers and various anime). He was a husband and father who used to be with the Yakuza or something and he left and they want revenge against him so they attack him and his family. I remember the main bad guy was played by Daniel Southworth (who was also in Power Rangers and various voice work with JYB) and that the movie was kinda gory and disturbing (which was why I never finished it)

I’m flicking around US and UK networks to see how the inauguration is being covered.
On a right-wing news outlet they just played musk’s speech, including the “thank you, thank you” at the end… and the salute had CHANGED.
No word of a lie. I’m gutted I didn’t get it on video… it was completely different… he still raised his hand both times (so you could have taken the same stills from it, matching the ones that have been circulating), but the chest thump and “salute” was completely toned down… it looked so innocent compared to the original video.
Both left and right political pundits in the show ALL DEFENDED IT as being “misinterpreted”… sickening.
Has anyone else spotted alternative versions of Musk’s speech footage?? 👀

 | I purchased some Bondi 7’s in October on 24. In less than 2 months part of the sole from one of the shoes came completely off. I was only walking in these shoes. Hoka denied my warranty claim. I recently installed a replacement ZF6 in my 99 7.3 4x4, and bought a ton of Valvoline MaxLife Mercon for it.
I've since added 2 quarts but was confused about capacity, so I started reading. Some folks (including the full shop manual set I have) say it's a 3.4qt capacity, while a lot of other people are saying it's a 6qt capacity. Is 3.4 just the capacity of the transmission itself while the 6 is including the cooler and the lines, or am I missing something here? The more I've read the more confused I've gotten.
In reading about capacities I started seeing a lot of hating on MaxLife and a lot of people talking about Redline MTL 80-90 as if it's the blood of the savior. They're saying it quiets the gear rollover and massively improves shifting and it's all they'll use now.
Is this stuff really the magic elixir people are saying it is? Is it amazing enough to justify the exorbitant price they're charging for the stuff? Is it so amazing that I should drain the 2qts of MaxLife I've already put in?

This cold weather has my girlfriend absolutely CRAVING a Horchata. Apparently it’s a Mexican summer drink made of rice, water, sugar, and cinnamon. She asks at every Mexican restaurant and while they know of it, they know of no one who serves it. Please help. Her birthday is coming up and I’d like to treat her to an authentic one here in Louisville.
