Hello All,
I'm an embedded software engineer with 3 years of experience in the Chicago area looking to find a higher paying job. Ideally I'd like to stay in the Chicago area or find something in Michigan, but willing to relocate for the right position.
I've just updated my resume as I was not having much luck landing interviews with my previous one. I occasionally have recruiters reach out on LinkedIn, but usually don't hear back after they share my resume with the hiring managers.
I feel like I have pretty strong experience in embedded applications, but not sure what I should add to reflect it better on the resume. Would love some feedback on how this new resume looks. Thanks!

Hello. I'm an International student who just finished his studies in ON. I am waiting for my degree completion letter from college since last 3 weeks. Since my results are already out so I am not allowed to work at this moment. My employer gave ne two weeks which is about to be end on this Thursday. They are saying if by this Thursday I can't come back to work then I'll have to resign. I don't have any other option at this moment since I am unauthorized to work. But after applying for the work permit or after receiving the work permit can I apply for my EI? Will it be approved?
I am aware with the voluntary quiting reason but here I have no choice.

My sister at 16 years old said she wanted to work in a classroom and she got her masters in Education and has been teaching elementary school kids for 14 years. I envy people like her who just knew what they wanted and stuck to it. I'm not one.
When it comes to a job, I value my mental health too much to work in something I hate, even if it means making my mortgage payment. But sitting here thinking, I guess I also don't know what job I'd LIKE either. LOL. I'd say I know what I don't want more than I know what I do want. I went to college and got a history degree because history I enjoyed. My dad and mom said "Go to university." And I said "If I go, I am picking something I enjoy. I'll never finish the 4 years, otherwise." I picked history.
Anyway, these thoughts have been circulating since I graduated in 2013. And every time I really feel like "going for something," job wise,I stop and ask how happy I'll be in 5 to 10 years. And it immobilizes me.
So, I ask, What made you choose your career path? Was it simply money? Did happiness factor at all? You spend at least 40hr per week doing the tasks you're paid to do. Shouldn't you enjoy it somewhat? You know your coworkers almost as well as you know your family. How do you balance your mental health with supporting basic needs?

My Boox Go 10.3 should be arriving this week! Pretty stoked about it. I’m a part time student majoring in cybersecurity.
My primary use for it will be note taking, reading/annotating etextbooks. I don’t like having to print out power points, carry around huge textbooks every day or, taking notes with the traditional pen and paper(notepad gets all worn out and rips all the time). So it’d be nice to have it all in one device!
I did my fair share of research and it seems like it will do all the things I’m looking for.
I originally wanted the iPad Pro but it’d be overkill, I’m not looking for a media consumption device and at the with it being nearly $2k was a no go for me.
The main drawback for me is the information security issue with it sending data back to the Boox servers. It’s not a huge concern for me because I don’t plan entering personal information or even connecting to home WiFi. I’ll connect somewhere to update firmware when needed and transfer PDFs/ebooks via usb.
What are everyone’s thoughts and how do you like your Go?!

But today in particular our neighbor threatened to shoot us if I didn't move my car. As mentioned in my original post our neighbor[14] would deliberately park in front of our unit or block is in so we can't leave. When he left today I went to move so I could let my mom back in but he sped back in front of me screaming" Bruh you need to move yo shit bruh, this is getting ridiculous" so i get out of my car and I turn to go in the house when my mom comes out and starts arguing with him. Towards the end of the argument he says" man don't act hard about this shit cuz I'll shoot you and yo fat ass daughter in yo face" Guess who has to file a police report tomorrow and leave their home for the next 30 days :). The good thing is their on their last strike with the rental company and once we file the report they'll be evicted. But until then me and my mom are staying with a relative until we move. We could keep staying in our apartment but even when they get evicted they'll know where we stay and they will try to hurt us. Anyway wish us luck

Hi everyone, 19m and been dealing with the symptoms for around a month. My case has seemed to be triggered by an overuse at the gym but I’ve taken a month off and not much has changed, Has seemed to localize to a space very deep in between two of my ribs on the middle/upper left side of my chest. after 4 ER visits, gastrointestinal specialist and cardiologist everything else is fine so I’ve assumed this is what I have. I’ve tried everything, heat application, pain killers, bio freeze, nothing helps the pain as it comes and goes. As of recently I’ve been getting into some stretching twice a day and back massaging with a lacrosse ball but not much has seemed to help All of this was happening over my winter break but now I start classes tomorrow and was wondering if anyone had good advice how to manage this pain as it seems to drain almost all my energy and will to do anything.my pain also seems to be accompanied by pec spasms as well and was wondering if there’s anything I can do to help that. Thanks.
