2025.01.21 02:09 SacredDoughnut1 brand new to vacuums - looking for recs
So as the title states, I'm new to the vacuum market. My parents somehow, despite living in a hcol area in a probably $1m+ home, do not have an actual vacuum outside of a handheld or two that would pass as car vacuums. They usually hire independent cleaners to come over and clean the house and so they use their own vacuum but my mom is slightly concerned about that from a "who knows where that's been" pov. Dad was like "nah we don't need one" so I decided that I would just buy one for the house and take it with me whenever I decide to move out.
My parent's home is all hardwood flooring ground floor and upstairs. There are some large rugs on the ground floor, in the formal living and dining rooms. The basement is 80% what im assuming is low pile carpet, with the rest being split between tiles and laminated flooring.
My budget is probably going to be 300 max. If there are some that are slightly above that, I will look into them. I know they can get a lot more expensive but I'm not really comfortable balling out on a vacuum just yet.

 | I gotta admit that I was surprised to get 100% Levantine. I was told that generations ago on my dad's side of the family, our great-great-great-grandfather (or something like that) was from Italy and he moved to Palestine. But looking at these results, I guess that wasn't true? Or maybe the Italian DNA is just too small to be detected (it's been a few generations). Or maybe his kids weren't biologically his (who knows lol) Anyway, I thought this was pretty cool so I wanted to share! It's crazy knowing that Palestine has gone through so many different empires over time and my family somehow managed to remain purely Levantine. I have used helper to help me out for exam on Examsoft. It's been good during the semester but recently (after 1 month) my school reach out to me saying that "Examsoft has brought it to my attention there are some inconsistencies and irregularities in your exam log." Have anyone ever got this problem before? Did Examsoft really get the evidence to prove there's somthing wrong with my test? SillIt's been driving me nuts. I sorta know how a normal hydraulic system works. You get a pump, use it to impart a force on a fluid, and using the fluid incompressibility, you transmit force to all portions that are in contact with the fluid. You use solenoids to control fluid flow, and you use pistons to move it linearly. That's how you get gigantic machines with gripping claws and moving arms.
But how does it spin? I can visualize how it moves back and forth, but how do you get the base of the machine to rotate?
Also, how does the work of the motor relate to the pressure in the system. Is it constantly pressurized, I.e. the pump is always working, creating a constant pressure? Or does it work only when the machine is activated?
