2025.01.21 03:21 Reterence I Fear Monster Modifiers Make Melee Even Worse
The long animations and present state of resistances and armour make it so that if there are certain modifiers on bosses/rares, Mace users are forced to use nothing longer than an auto attack while always being in the danger zone of these modifiers because of being in melee range.
The modifiers themselves often feel far more dangerous than the enemy themselves, they cannot be facetanked or ignored without extremely specific builds. While ranged players can maneuver freely while attacking and can also attack at many different ranges, melee users are forced close, sometimes leaving no room to escape large chunks of elemental or chaos damage depending on the spawn zones of the modifier effects. The same applies to on death effects, most of them being far more dangerous for melee.
The best solutions without making Mace essentially a ranged class are probably as such: Provide mace specific skills/ascendencies that make tanking elemental hits/DOTS much more possible (would probably be a required take on mace builds) Reduce the damage/effect of the modifiers (might make things too easy for everyone) Fundamental changes to modifiers or on death effects (a ton of work) Make armour reduce damage from elemental attacks (might make armour too strong for all users)
These are just the ones I could think of anyway. Warrior has a long road ahead, this we know. I'm curious to see what they do. If they gave each warrior ascendency a way to massively improve tanking potential (like turtle charm, but maybe less specific) I could see them being able to maintain the current state of Mace skills at least. Less animation work, sacrifice clear speed for security.

I'm curious how or if your lists contrast. For me Favorite-Least:
Fiona - Ian - Carl - Liam - Lip - Debbie - Frank/Monica
For Best to Worst Written (w/some explanations):
Lip (alcoholism, self-sabotage, nuance in a ton of his characterizations; but writers screwed him when he got w/Tami)
Monica (she's in it less/less chance for filler; her bipolar episode during Thanksgiving is one of the best portrayals in tv)
Frank (some of his storylines become silly/filler)
Fiona (she makes sense; around end of season 8 is where the writers reeeally screwed hemaybe before but I can understand her pov in those storylines)
Ian (don't handle the older relationships revisitation well; storylines starting and going no where; the 1 thing I have to give credit for being amazing was his bipolar disorder (didn't forget about it either) and ofc him & Mickey
Carl (honestly doesn't really do much; I hate the Kassidi storyline)
Liam (was irrelevant before season 8, but I appreciate the last actor & how he got more to do)
Debbie (I personally think they handle her storylines poorly; I get she was gonna end up that way)
If you wanna add other characters like Mickey or anyone else, it'd be fun to read.

I’ve been on TRT injections for almost a year now, and unfortunately am one of the few who get back pumps. For me, if I take over 120mg weekly I start noticing my body stays more tense, especially in my back. Now add the gym on top and I get some crazy back pumps / cramps that limit my normal volume. Bloodwork always comes back within normal ranges, I drink plenty of water, and even tried adding Taurine that seems to dull some effects but never completely. Question is, has anyone else experienced this and found a lasting solution? Would getting off injection and going oral form change anything? Love the benefits the injections have given me, but the cost of being less physically active is making me rethink this path.

I've been recently looking at old maps of the New World when I came across this 1507 map created by German cartographer Martin Waldseemüller. While wildly inaccurate (he didn't have much to go off) it is notable for being the oldest surviving map to depict the Americas as separate from Asia, having an ocean on it's west (6 years before the Pacific was spotted by Balboa), it is also the first to use the term "America", which is what it referred to South America as, with North America being labeled as "Parias".
Looking at this map got me wondering, what if Waldseemüller 100% correctly predicted what the Americas looked like? I'm not so much interested in his inaccurate depictions of Africa and Asia (as that would change history too much) as I am in his depiction of the New World. What is there was a narrow strait in Central America separating North and South America? What if there was really a bunch of random islands between Cuba and Parias (North America)? What if North America really only consisted of like 8 single small river systems, all starting on its eastern side and not reaching the western coast? What if South America was really so long it's northern tip was latitudinal in line with Central Spain? Would the Native Americans have even reached the New World (there is a big distance between Siberia and this version of the Pacific Northwest)? What would 15/16th colonization have looked like? Would there really be any purpose to colonize this version of America or would the European powers bypass it in favor for going through the narrow strait to Asia?

I’ve been watching Kill Tony for a long time, and I’ve been thinking about how underrated the regulars on the show really are. What these regulars do every week is absurdly hard. Writing a good minute of comedy is already tough. Now imagine doing it every week, while handling the pressure of millions of people watching you online and in person.
That said, I’ve always felt like Tony’s over-the-top introductions of the regulars don’t really do them any favors. They’re so exaggerated that it feels impossible for anyone to live up to the hype. Shane Gillis actually mentioned this in an episode, and his comment was kind of brushed off, but I think he had a point. It’s a lot of pressure to put on someone right before they perform, especially in a format where the audience is already quick to judge.
The truth is, Kill Tony might’ve spoiled us as viewers. We’ve gotten so used to seeing great comedy every week that it’s easy to forget just how hard it actually is. These regulars are ridiculously talented, and the fact that they keep showing up and delivering in this high-pressure environment is amazing.
Just my opinion. Would love to hear your perspective.
