i know i know doomscrolling is bad, but, i see everything everywhere! its like a constant reminder of what really is happening to the u.s. and having to watch the “downfall”. i cannot do anything without hearing or seeing “we’re cooked”, “rip to our democracy”, and elons nazi salute! and somehow people all across still haven’t woken up and realized this is something we have to fight against? idk, crazy world we live in and crazy times. i try to believe it when people say this is actually the best we’ve ever been, but looking around makes me doubt that. im scared for my future, my parents future, my younger siblings future, and my kids if i ever get the chance to have any. so, tell me how you guys feel optimistic about this, how i, as a woman, can survive the next 4 years living in a red state and then moving to another red state (not my decision)?

2025.01.21 03:56 Cyrusis LVP flooring question for high traffic grocery store.
I am in the planning phase for replacing flooring in a 3000 sqft grocery store. It currently has click vinyl LVP installed that is approximately 10-12 years old. The vinyl is laid over top old tiles that have a ~1cm thick grout. The store is relatively flat, but has a couple of areas with slight lumps that are gradual.
The grocery store has many 16-20ft long islands of shelving with products, as well as floor standing coolers. When they had installed the current click vinyl, they did not run it under these islands and refrigerators—only ran it to the base and a few inches underneath to make it look like it was run underneath. This means there are significant expansions joints in every direction.
The current floor lasted very well throughout the years, and didn’t have any serious issues.
A couple sales people in flooring stores that we spoke to told us click LVP would be a bad idea due to rolling carts and chance of breaking or buckling. After explaining that our current floor lasted for over ten years and still looks good, they were surprised and we thought maybe it was because of all the large bidirectional expansion joints all the way down the store.
They recommended vinyl glue down floor, but sadly we dislike the look and the seams. They feel cheap to walk on and are not as nice as the LVP we had selected. And we’d really like to avoid making a huge project out of this and levelling out all of the grout in the tiles.
They also said click vinyl would be difficult to swap out should a vinyl tile get damaged. An installer told me otherwise.
Would any of you experienced folks have and opinions on this one?

Tap water made my hair fall out
Randomly in November 2023 my hair started shedding a lot. I was taking a hand full of hair off my brush every single time I ran a brush through it. Washing it was the worst I would end up with piles of hair on the shower floor it was awful. Recently i decided to try washing my hair in Crystal Geyser bottled water because it helped me in 2010 after bleaching too much. The first wash with bottled water I had no hair on my brush when I was done with my hair routine. I have since washed my hair in only bottled water 3 times and the shedding has been significantly less over the last week since this experiment started. Like 99% less. I can easily count the number of hairs that come off my head in an entire day. What are your thoughts and is this something you might be interested in trying? The water is heated up, i put 4 gallons in my tub, fill it with hot water and let the bottles sit. The water i washed my hair with was steaming.
