2025.01.21 09:41 SevenVeils0 Actually chewy, not overly sweet, chocolate chip cookies?
I keep trying one recipe after another which state that they will result in chocolate chip cookies that are not overly sweet, and which are chewy. But they all come out cakey or crispy. Ideally, I would love crispy edges and chewy bodies, but that's less important than just the chewy factor overall.
I bake by metric weight, but am about to start a separate thread about this, because I have questions.
I use butter. I have both American and European butters (they have different amounts of water, which is my only point there). I also have a number of different types of oil, including coconut oil, and am willing to use any of these but I dislike the flavor of items baked with Crisco, so I am hoping that Crisco is not the only way of getting chewy gf chocolate chip cookies.
I never had this problem with wheat flours, and if I could remember which recipe I used, I'm sure that I could adapt it without issue. But, I have no idea which recipe I used back then. I know that I wasn't separating eggs, so I haven't tried that yet, but if that's what I need to do now, I will.

Hey, I recently checked my blood pressure (should defo do it way more often) but my BP was completely within normal range but my BPM was sitting anywhere between 110-120 resting.
I donāt drink caffeine or anything and Iām 24, normal height and weight so Iām wondering if taking a stimulant medication could cause this?
I told my dad and he thought I was kidding so tested himself by taking my pulse and pulled 120š„² I also double checked twice with the BP machine and got much the same results
Does anyone else find this happens?

Whether teaming with Chris Brookes in CDK, entertaining in DDT as part of Schadenfreude International, testing ChocoPro rookies in intense bouts (something significant for this one), or just showing off his comedy chops...Masa rules. The Birthday boy is often referred to as the āDrunken Monkeyā, and this wild brawler with a unique style is one of a kind. He is a swaying, smooth as butter Counter Fighter. He is the backbone (and President!) of ChocoPro Wrestling and has had a long career in the business. This time however, weāll be turning the clock all the way back to his initial exhibition matches at DDT. Hi all.
First time lurking on to this sub so please be nice!
The fact that I've only just looked in here will tell you all that you need to know about my inflated ego and abilities in my own mind.
For years (possibly decades), I've always told myself and anyone who would listen that I have a book in me.
I usually get myself to sleep at night by mapping out motivations, plots, scenarios etc. I've been doing this for years (great tip for insomnia BTW).
Anyway, I finally sat down yesterday and wrote the first chapter. And being stubborn, I know I will write the whole thing out of sheer determination.
So what's the point of this post?
In my head, I will finish the book in a month or so (as I said, my head cannon of my abilities is delusional).
It will be perfect.
I will then send it to 1 publisher who will tell me to quit my job and offer me a multi book deal.
Retirwment follows and I get to meet you all at book signings.
However, I know this is delusional so could someone tell me what to expect over the coming months/ years?
Do I write it, warts and all? I've read the posts about first drafts e%but I still expect it to be great first draft.
Do I just give it to friends and family and consider it a bucket list tick?
What's a beta reader and how do I find one?
How do you send something to a publisher? Are there a list of no nos?
Does anyone make a living from writing anymore?
Basically, can someone suggest a complete novices road map on what to expect!

In my opinion I do think Jeremiah led her on. I donāt like how he tried to make it seem like he was crystal clear with her from the beginning when he really wasnāt. I felt like he couldāve been better in his communication. When the editors showed the flashback of what he said, he quickly slid in the fact that he didnāt want long distance. In my opinion, it was too fast to even notice or process. Hated how all the guys were making it seem like girls are crazy and donāt understand no means no even though it was Jeremiah throwing mixed signals. Not only that but his actions showed otherwise. What do you guys think?

I hope that at least one person who received a test copy of Civilization VII can confirm whether the Steam version of the game includes proper controller support. Specifically, does it adjust the UI to match the console experience, similar to how it will be implemented on PlayStation and Xbox?
I really appreciate how well the Civilization VI controller scheme works on the Steam Deck, but I found it quite frustrating that we couldn't get the same interface as console players. It would be great to see some gameplay footage on the Steam Deck for Civilization VII, especially now that the game has been officially verified for the platform.
Regarding controller support, the developers could take inspiration from what the team behind Baldur's Gate 3 didāimplementing a dynamic UI that changes based on the input method. When using a mouse and keyboard, the UI is optimized for that input, and when switching to a controller, the UI seamlessly adjusts to accommodate navigation with a gamepad. This approach is simply brilliant.
In my opinion, this should become the standard for all PC games that also have a console version. It feels unfair that, as a PC player, I'm sometimes forced to use a mouse and keyboard when a perfectly viable controller option exists. The groundwork is already in place thanks to the console port, so offering this flexibility should be a given.
