2025.01.21 13:50 Special_Layer4493 Penalty shootout dilemma at a fairly casual u-14 (club) level, full sized pitches/balls/goals
I wondered what thoughts others might have on this.
Team's regular goalkeeper is a very good athlete with considerable potential [could conceivably become the best player in the team if he grows a lot], has an impeccable ground game, but isn't much more than 5 feet tall. Does a good job overall, albeit some savvier opponents are maybe starting to target with high shots. No other players in the squad have even nearly the handling skills or willingness to be a replacement.
Forthcoming cup fixture which would go to penalties at full time if the scores were level.
A couple of the outfield players are 6 feet plus and athletic/good at ball games generally.
How badly might it crush the keeper's confidence/team spirit generally if one of these really big outfield players were to be put in goal for just the penalty shootout, playground style?

2025.01.21 13:50 ocean_mina How should a fraction of a day be treated in the context of business operations, especially when calculating the time required to break even?
We had an activity that asked how many days would it take to break-even if 30 units would be produced per day. The answer had a decimal (ex: 70.59) so I naturally rounded it up to the nearest whole number. I was apparently wrong because days can be expressed with decimals. I tried explaining that the question required how many DAYS, meaning, how many 24 hours would it take to break-even. Our professor then tried to relate it to kilos, saying that 1.65 kg does not need to be rounded up because it can also be expressed in decimals, and I’m basically disagreeing to that logic. But I feel like kilos and days are not the same. Please correct me if I’m wrong. If there are any management scientists here, please tell me the most accurate answer. I really appreciate your expert answers. I also just want to be enlightened about this. If there are any links or source materials about the answer please include them, I would really like to know the answer with a basis. Thank you!

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 months now, and he’s literally the cutest. Even though he’s 2 years younger than me, he treats me with so much care and thoughtfulness, like a true gentleman 😭.
When we first started talking online, I found out later that he had already asked about me from others; something I had no clue about at the time. We actually went to the same high school, but I eventually had to transfer and didn’t know who he was until we started chatting. As we got to know each other, I realized he knew so much more about me than I did about him. He’s so observant and incredibly attentive.
After weeks of talking online, we finally met in person. And guess what? He brought me a bouquet of my favorite flowers- Baby’s Breath 😭. I remember casually mentioning my favorite flower, but I never thought he’d actually remember or bring them. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture that completely melted my heart.
After about a month of getting to know each other, we officially started dating. One thing I absolutely love about him is how he remembers even the smallest, silliest things I say. Before my birthday, I noticed he was going on and off his texts and wasn’t replying as regularly. I was confused but didn’t want to ask what was going on. Eventually, he told me he was busy working on something really important. When I asked what it was, he just said, “You’ll find out soon.”
As the days went by, I joked with him, saying, “Are you building Noah’s ark or something?” He laughed and replied, “Maybe.”
On my birthday, we had planned to spend the day together, but unfortunately, my friends took me out unexpectedly. By the time I was heading home, it was really late. He called and asked if he could pick me up halfway, and I said yes. When I got out of my friend's car, I saw him waiting for me by his bike. He smiled as I walked toward him, and the moment I reached him, he pulled me into a kiss and wished me a happy birthday.
Then came the surprise—a handmade bouquet of DIY white roses 😭😭. It was the most thoughtful thing anyone had ever done for me. I was so moved I almost cried right there. He also gave me a handwritten letter, which made the moment even more special. We didn’t get to spend much time together since it was late, but we kissed goodnight, and I went home with the biggest smile on my face.
Wh en I got home, I noticed the bouquet smelled just like him, and I couldn’t stop smiling while reading his letter. But then I found a small piece of paper tucked inside the roses. When I unfolded it, it said, “Hahaha Noah’s ark.” 😭😭😭
Y’all, he’s just so cute and thoughtful. I feel so lucky to have him in my life.

 | Hey I was recently sorting through my collection to value it and noticed that my Charizard I pulled in 2014 had a weird texture. After looking into it can see that the texture layer over the card is actually the full art Toxicroak from the same set. Picture 1&2 shows the Toxicroak arm in the top left. Picture 3 shows the Toxicroak eye. Picture 4 shows the energy cost on the Smash Uppercut and retreat cost. Picture 5 shows the Toxicroak art. Picture 6 & 7 to show the card condition. I'd say it's pretty mint and i was wondering if this is a good or bad thing in terms of value and also if this is something PSA would grade as an error card. My ex left me almost a year ago after a relationship that lasted nearly five years, including four years of living together. I had more or less promised myself that I would love her forever. A few weeks after our breakup, I met another woman. We started dating, and she has been living with me for about six months now.
During this time, I maintained several long periods of no contact with my ex, lasting up to three months, and I haven’t seen her for nearly a year. However, I will see her soon to return some belongings she left at my place.
My problem is that I can't seem to forget my previous relationship. I've never loved anyone as intensely or passionately as I loved my ex. I was completely captivated by her. Her body, her scent—everything about her brought me peace. Just holding her in my arms and feeling her presence gave me an unmatched sense of fulfillment; it was literally the best feeling in the world.
I care about my current girlfriend, but the intensity of my feelings and attraction to her is perhaps only 1/10 of what I felt for my ex. Hugs with her don’t bring me the same sense of fulfillment. I try to keep our relationship alive by doing lots of activities together, but I feel like there’s no magic.
I don't know if my lingering feelings for my ex are affecting my current relationship, or if I should simply leave my girlfriend because something is fundamentally wrong.
To add to this, life with my current girlfriend is quite difficult. In all my past relationships, I’ve never had to sleep in separate rooms except after major arguments. But for the past three months, it’s become a routine. She started having trouble sleeping right after she moved in permanently (despite having slept at my place without issues for three months prior), and since then, she has become completely insomniac. She went on medical leave and has fallen into depression because she no longer likes her job and doesn’t want to go back.
For several months now, I’ve been living with someone who wakes up exhausted at 2 PM. During our Christmas vacation at her parents’ house, I was literally stuck there with nothing to do, just waiting for her to wake up each day.
I don’t understand why she doesn’t look for another job, considering I pay for all the groceries and rent. She spends her days at home, and when I come back after work, I have to do the laundry, clean the house, and prepare her meals.
I don’t know if I’m a bad person for being unsympathetic to her situation, or if there’s something else going on here. Many nights, I find myself thinking about my previous relationship and how much I miss it.

One of the flying ones anyway. I enjoyed the base game so much I decided to get the DLC season pass, it was like a huge discount. While the DLCs felt really short, I'm glad I got it because the bavarium wingsuit, drones, and mech were super fun to play with. I have been a member of my employer's TM club for over three years. I can't say enough about how much it's helped me gain confidence and communication skills. I have also been self studying Norwegian for about 4.5 years. Since speaking and understanding a spoken language is the ultimate goal (opposed to just reading it), I was considering joining a club that spoke English and Norwegian, preferably English based so that I can still follow what's going on. Any online clubs that fit the bill?
