I have developed feelings for a girl online who I've been speaking to and playing games with for a while. I have opened up to her about these feelings and she acknowledges and understands them, but doesn't know if she feels the same way and doesn't want a long distance relationship unless we meet (which I'm willing to do in time). She wants us to remain close friends though.
How can I be just friends with someone I love? What's worse is some of our interactions are already relationship like, and not in a joking way, in a very serious way. So I don't even know what we are at this point, I asked her if we're more than friends but less than a couple and she says that's how she sees it. And I feel absolutely heartbroken whenever I get the thought that she might find someone else and my feelings will be left in the dirt.
I don't know what to do now. It's very difficult and hurtful to be just friends with someone you deeply fell in love with.

Hi all, Iām a biologist, who has primarily worked with wetlab tasks until now. I have attended several courses on biostatistics and data analysis using R on coursera, datacamp etc., but I still donāt feel skilled (and confident) enough to conduct an entire analysis, for e.g NGS data analysis, on my own. I was always told that the best way to learn R is by working on your data and applying things one-at-a-time. So Iām looking for datasets (preferably from biology so that I understand the basics of the library and experiment too) that I could use to practice and learn R programming. Would really appreciate any advice, recommendations and help I could get. Thanks a lot!

One of the executive orders issued by Trump yesterday mandates a full time return to office for all federal employees. Setting aside the fact that this sad old bag of orange dogshit seems exclusively interested in hurting people, the economy, and the environment with his executive actions, Iām wondering what impact this will have locally. I know a handful of folks who moved down here during covid with fully remote Federal jobs, I wonder if this will cause a sort of rush on local private employers as these folks quit en masse or if a number will be forced to move closer to DC, presumably selling their homes or vacating local rentals? Since the law and constitutionality no longer seem to matter for this administration, I have to assume there wonāt be any successful challenge to this action and these employees will indeed have to be in office 5 days a week.
