2025.01.22 01:14 BurritoBurglar9000 I had a hard lesson in physics today.
I want to preface this with no one was seriously injured although I'm sure the young man I shoulder checked is going to be sore in the morning.
Remember that classical physics problem of two objects not being able to occupy the same space at the same time? Yea clearly life decided I needed a refresher course in that today.
I was cruising down an empty blue groomer taking a nice middle cut down the fall line working through turns when a group of three skiers shot out below me from what I assume was an exit from the terrain park (I figured this out later not in the moment or it might have informed my decision making a bit). I cut speed a bit and moved over to the trees on the right to give them space. One of the youngsters (he was probably early 20s but that's a fair bit younger than me so he's a youngster) started moving toward my line but hadn't gone completely over - somewhere to the right of the middle of the piste. I think he had his blinders on or didn't look up slope because they came out of the exit almost perpendicular to the slope so they should have seen me (not an excuse just a fact). We eventually ended up jockeying for who was up and down slope until he was infront of me again (this was my mistake I was a bit caught up in the flow and he was still a reactable distance away from me). I assumed he was going to go straight to the lift which was a bit downhill. What I didn't see was the entry to another terrain park directly on my right and wouldn't ya know it he takes a hard right turn damn near 90 degrees, right in front of me. I had enough time to bring my sticks around and yell "oh shit" and bleed off about .5 seconds of speed before I absolutely bodied him and sent us rolling downhill, over a bank and into the trees. Unfortunately and fortunately for me the younger guy broke my fall. Wicked unfortunately for him a very large tree broke his. I think the drop from the bank into the untouched tree pow took the brunt of the energy from our spill but he was still a bit sore once we managed to untangle ourselves and climb out. I made sure he was okay and didn't need ski patrol, gave him my number and told him to get in touch if anything is majorly fucked. His friends started teasing him after they saw he was still moving and said he needed to slow down, and didn't jump to the blame game. We had a quick laugh and both skied off. My hip is a little stiff now but I was still able to get a other three hours of downhill in so I don't think I'll have any issues and I'm hoping he just had some light bruising but only time will tell there. I don't really know where the fault lies because we both were at some point uphill, but I do know I share at least half the blame there. I wasn't going particularly fast at the time (maybe low 20s) but didn't give myself enough space to come to a full stop and I'll never make that error again.
Tl;DR I should have given myself more space to react to another skier on the slope, even though I had already shed half my speed and picked a different line you can't predict where people will go. I feel like a dummy because it was so obvious in hindsight. Quintessential Jerry move by me.

I will start off by saying I'm autistic and asexual, so I do not understand a lot about how society works lmao.
I know the title feels confusing but I genuinely don't think I understand gender at all. I am AFAB 22yo, and have never felt right with the term 'woman' or 'girl' to describe me.
I went to a catholic all girls school and I felt alienated the entire time. And I've always struggled to connect with women or relate to them, wearing dresses or femine clothing always feels like a costume to me. And when someone calls me feminine compliments, like 'pretty', it makes me feel slightly sick. So the whole not woman thing seems pretty obvious.
The issue is I am ok with my body, I guess, I mean I don't love it buts it's what I've got, I don't have a desire to change it. I wear binders sometimes to make clothes fit me better, but I don't feel more me with them on or anything. I don't really align with being a man either. But if I was born a male I doubt I would have had the same issues, so I probably wouldn't have these doubts at all.
But the issue is I don't feel non-binary, so I guess I'm asking if this is normal or what does it feel like to you?

I am far to smooth brained to know if chart 1/9 means anything, or if both 1 and 9 mean anything but I included them. RK's "Gift box" tweet was posted the same day that the BOJ announced that the trend was confirmed and that they would be raising 2%. I think that's the gift...the BOJ confirming the trend and moving forward with the 2% increase that will trigger the explosion!
