I'm doing a psychology class and I'm already dying because they're asking us to remember a ton of names and who did what and who picked their nose and scratched their butt on XX/XX/1984. How do you remember stuff like that, like who invented what when and how, who made breakthroughs by doing x thing? Why do science classes always start with this history mumbo jumbo instead of just explaining what you actually need to know?
On a related note, how do you remember anything you read in a textbook? Half of the time I'll read something and have no idea what I just read. It feels like most of the time I can only understand things if someone's explaining the thing to me on the spot, in spoken words with pictures.
By the way, I'm not actually a Psychology guy, I'm just taking this class because it's a required Gen Ed at my school. So I can't really do that "it'll be easier to memorize if it's something you like" kind of thing. :/

Always found this a bit odd given how popular and successful the NFL has been. The NBA and NHL both have 82 game seasons, and the MLB has a 162 game season. Most European soccer leagues will also have around 30-40 games, on top of other mid-season tournaments.
Personally, I don't think that the NFL is that much more physically demanding that the other sports I've mentioned (minus baseball) to have such a disparity in games played. Is it just a cultural thing?

hi everyone, just wondering if anyone can please help me out with any advice, i had $1000 in kogan credit which was a gift card i ended up using it on a 5 piece outdoor set for my grandparents which ended up costing around $980 after shipping , we received the product put it together and noticed that the cushions are not cream like advertised they are yellow its like the off colour when you leave something out in the sun for too long and they have turned like an off plasticy yellow not cream at all, but not only that it is EXTREMELY flimsy when you sit on it it moves side to side and not sturdy at all where it is advertised as "solid wood" when that is so far from what it is , the pillows have barely any cushioning so when you sit on it it feels like your sitting on straight wood. this is not what you would expect for nearly $1000 , then after some research i have found the exact same product same photos and description on TEMU if i new it was from temu i wouldn't have purchased it especially for my grandparents.
im trying to get a refund or credit back , it hasn't been used only put together but kogan customer care keeps going round in circles and not actually offering me anything , i have asked for a call back but they take soo long to reply they have asked for a photo to show the quality but how can you see the quality through a photo unless your actually sitting on it, you can clearly see the colour difference but not the quality of the product
do i have any leg to stand on here ?

My brother and his “baby momma” have never been married. Split custody, however, they both suck and my parents are the kids full time caregiver (for ~5 years). Kid lives with them full time and they provide every dollar towards the kid. Side note, dad does live with parents and kid.
Do the grandparents have the right to claim child as dependent? The dad can’t file a tax return as he hasn’t worked. Baby momma is threatening them saying she spoke to a “tax lawyer” and that she is allowed to file due to custody, although, again, she hasn’t cared for or spent a single $$$ on the kid in years. My parents have all receipts.

I’m in my last year of uni rn and since the start of 2020 I’ve smoked weed everday with maybe a maximum of a month off in the early years but as of recent my longest tolerance breaks have not been over 5 days and that too being circumstantial (like being on a cruise or a country where it super super illegal). Gradually over the years my tolerance has reached to such an extent that I smoke around 3 infused(40% thc) joints a day or many many more if they’re not infused(4-8 js). I have realised this habit and substance that probably helped me at one point is severely affecting my physical and mental health. I just feel fazed out all the time and only recently have I felt the toll that my lungs have taken over these 5 years. I think getting my life in order won’t be possible until I quit this habit that my life essentially relives around, I plan everything in my life and day around smoking and getting high and I recognise that if this continues it’ll surely take me down with it. So I hope I’m successful in quitting this habit and replacing it with healthier ones. I’ll post back on this subReddit through my journey. Please tell me your guys’ insights and I hope you have great day! Thanks
