2025.01.22 05:04 mwrightm Recommended ice scoop size
I see quite a few sizes of ice scoops measured in ounces. I've used some that are way too big and others too small. Basically looking for the right size to fill two pint glasses with ice in one scoop. A small thing that becomes very important.
The scoops are usually measured by ounces but I'm guessing that the measured size is liquid ounces filled to the top of the scoop, not the amount of ice.
I'm guessing a heaping scoop of ice in a 16 oz scoop would fill 2 16 oz pint glasses? Or should I be looking at a 32 oz which seems like it might be too big?
What is your recommended size scoop?

My son and I sent in the paperwork for the I-130 in February of 2022. We still haven't heard back. All they keep telling me is that it is being processed and under review. Can someone give me some advice as to what to do. I paid all the fees and turned in all the evidence, even extra evidence they requested. My lawyer said all we can do is wait. I am at a loss because some friends of mine applied for the same and got approved in 6 months. In my desperation I contacted Masto's office, I signed all the paperwork they sent me. I got assigned a case manager with no contact information. I haven't heard back since the beginning of November when I filled out all the third party authorization forms Masto's office requested. I am desperate and scared.

We broke up 8 months ago, were semi off and on until recently, and I can't get my mind straight. We dated for 8 years, thought it would last forever. We always said forever. I still want her and can't get over her. But anyways.
I was a bad communicator. I know that. I didn't lie or hide things on purpose or do anything malicious but I was definitely too distant emotionally. For a long time I fully believed that alone was what ruined us. But now, looking at things, I'm seeing an odd pattern and am wondering if anyone can relate or help me make sense of it.
I feel like a lot of times when we were having a rough patch, it went along with when someone else close her was having a rough patch too. For instance Christmas 2023 I was very broke and did not get the most spectacular gifts for her but it wasn't nothing. She told me she didn't like the gifts and that I put no thought into it. That hurt but I tried to be accountable about it. Then a little while later she mentions that she may have been projecting the situation that her best friend was going thru into our situation because the friends bf got slightly similar disappointing gifts and they were in a bad place and my gf had big issues with her friends bf. I tried not to think about it too much.
Another example is when she broke up with me, her sister was planning to break up with her bf at the exact same time. They basically made plans together to leave their partners. Was too hurt by the breakup to really think about that, but looking back it seems odd.
I had felt for a long time that she always needed someone to project her negative feelings towards. At first it was roommates, then once they moved out it was some specific coworker, and off and on it was a member of her family. It was never extreme but ina way I felt like she locked on to one specific person at a time to be mad at. Once it was just us living together and she got a long with everyone at work, she dumped me. Then her sister was acting inconsiderately after her own breakup and that was when my gf was reconsidering our breakup and was mad at her sister.
Something else, she always said I was her safe space. We felt that about each other. We both struggled with anxiety and she always said I was what comforted her. Then right before she broke up with me she started anxiety meds. Makes me feel like she just didn't need me anymore. Like I'm too overy anxious and mentally unstable for her because she's so healed. She tells me it's because I was too distant and wasn't there for her but I thought I did a lot but don't want to invalidate how she felt.
Occasionally over the course of our relationship I felt easily disposable when she made new friends. Wanting extra space and kinda putting me on a backburner. I truly thought I was being irrational and just jealous. I tried to talk about it but, being bad at communicating, it probably came across as being possessive when all I wanted was reassurance. But when I made friends she always thought I was cheating. I could have been better at reassuring her and showing her love but at the same time I was confused because I was so deeply devoted to her.
Was she just looking for outs the whole time? Liked me enough to stick around but didn't really want to stay with me? Was I always replaceable to her?
I guess I don't really know if it's a pattern but it's just stuff I don't know how to make sense of. Maybe I'm overthinking. Our relationship was predominantly really good. We got a long, we had fun vacations, we had similar styles and interests, our morals align, really good sex. She's gorgeous and thoughtful. I thought we made a really good couple so maybe I'm just hurting. But I would appreciate feedback or tips on how to come to terms with things I guess. Thanks for reading this rant.

Needing to source some rigid urethane foam for machining some plugs to make molds. Either blocks or pourable. Density somewhere in the range of 8-20lbs/cf.
Who has the best prices? I'm kind of leaning towards the pourable 2 part for shipping cost reasons. In my search so far, about $600 for 10 cubic feet of 16lb density is the cheapest I can find.

I am stirring trying to understand how to fight back. What organizations can I give my time, effort and financial support to make legitimate impact? I don’t want to join a virtue signaling circle j***. I want to do something that is going to bring the political resistance to the forefront. Anyone have suggestions? I need to preface, I don’t seek violence, but I do want civil disobedience, something to the effect of great disrupters like the freedom riders. Hi everyone!
I am in dire need of someone's help. I am a victim of a hit & run by a red transport truck on hwy 401 Westbound towards Sarnia, and unfortunately I have no dash cam so I have no way to identify the perpetrator. I filed a police report and they indicated that there were no cameras in this area to capture the accident. I was driving a white Volkswagen Jetta, 2015 model on the right lane of the highway. At this point there were only two lanes in the highway and I was hit from behind and pushed into the ditch. This event took place on Thu Jan 16, 2025 between 7:30- 7:40 AM as I was on the way from London, ON to St. Thomas. I landed in the ditch right behind the 1km sign for exit 180- Wonderland Rd, and across the road from Hyde Park Kubota. My car was a total loss and I sustained significant injuries. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your help.
