Hi all, I’m a California resident moving to Florida soon. I want to keep some belongings in a storage facility in California. The reason is that in 2-3 years time I’ll be moving to Australia and it will be cheaper to ship them from California across the Pacific than have them moved to the east coast into storage and then back again in two years. I’ll become a full resident of Florida, ship my car over and register it there, get my FL license, have a lease on an apartment there, and be transferred to the FL office of my company. Would anyone know if having a storage unit would present an issue in terms of CA claiming I’m still a tax resident there? Thanks!

Hello fellow legal minded people! I found an independent LSAT tutor here on Reddit and received online tutoring at a great rate in preparation for the November test. However, I did not use all the hours I'd paid for upfront and was told via text that I would get the remaining hours refunded. I also signed a contract he made about our agreement so I have that in writing. He has since deleted the reddit account on which he advertised his services--his name is Shervin if anyone comes across him though. He had multiple other clients who emailed me positive testimonials. I have his phone number and email and have texted multiple times asking for my money back. Has anyone had any similar experiences and advice or tips? I am out about $275--which I know is not a lot in the grander scheme of life, but it is an amount which I'd like back of course.

2025.01.22 05:02 Afseis_The_Barbarian Any advice for a new amputee kitty?
 | My 4 year old baby Romance was hiding on top of the fridge yesterday and got spooked accidentally (we just moved into a new house). She jumped and landed on the hardwood floor incorrectly. We immediately rushed her to the vet and one x-ray later, it was decided the best course of action was amputation. I’m absolutely heartbroken for her but I work in animal care/the shelter system so I don’t feel completely unequipped for this. Her amputation was completed this morning (it went perfectly!) and she gets to come home tomorrow. I have my bathroom floor lined with puppy pads and blankets so she’s protected and the area stays clean. She of course has the most comfortable, new bed. I have disposable litter boxes, filled with unscented paper litter, that I’ve cut one side out of to accommodate her incision for the next 3 weeks. She will have her stitches for two weeks with the cone of shame. This situation isn’t out of my wheel house, but it’s definitely different and difficult when it’s your kitty. 2025.01.22 05:02 ins3d what compensation for multiple connecting flights cancelled
I have a little complex case and I'm trying to figure out how much compensation am I eligible for / how much should I request and from what airline.
Part 1
Initially my flight was on Dec 29 as below:
KRK - FRA
FRA - YVR
Operated by Lufthansa
my departure was cancelled due to weather condition (fog) therefore I understand I am not eligible for any compensation
Part 2
After calling Lufthansa help line I got my flight rebooked to Jan 1 (3 days later) as below (this is the earlier flight without staying over night in one of the connecting cities)
KRK - AMS 11:45 - 13:45 | operated by KLM KL1324
AMS - YUL 15:15 - 17:10 | operated by KLM
YUL - YVR 18:15 - 20:45 | operated by AC
However after boarding AMS - YUL flight, there was some issue with some of the controls / sensors so we started taxing in circles on the airport with a hope that the issue will eventually disappear. After 1 hour practicing that the pilots finally restarted the system what solve the issue. However we ended up being short on gas so we had to refill. But then there was nowhere to park and then we waited for the gas vehicle another 30min. The whole thing took about 3 hours (spent in the plane before even taking off).
The moment I landed in YUL I received text from AC that "my flight was changed and I missed it" and that i can book a hotel with the provided link.
They also automatically rebooked my flight to:
YUL - VVR dep 7:30am next day | operated by AC
The next day my flight was first delayed by 45min, then rebooked (re-routed) due to some potential engine issue.
My new booking was:
YUL - YYZ dep 11:15 | operated by AC
YYZ - YVR dep 15:05 | operated by AC

so without counting my initial booking through FRA, 2 of my connecting flights were cancelled in a row, i got re-routed, had to stay over night in Montreal, had to go through 5 airports (KRK - AMS - YUL - YYZ - YVR) and arrived almost 24 hours after my planned arrival time (and 4 days after my original arrival time).
I am wondering if I'm eligible only for CAD 1000 or 600 euro or anything more for all the inconvenience and if i should contact AC or KLM or both in that regard. Thank you for reading!

I’m currently an intern at a SaaS startup and have a solid foundation in DSA from the grinding of LeetCode. However, I’m finding software development much harder than expected. I’m not sure if it’s this difficult or if I’m approaching it the wrong way. I am so lost in this process, having to look into the company codebase melts my brain, I know the structure and how all things are supposed to look but ohhh boy I cant figure out what tf is happening!!. So far, my tasks have mostly involved fixing bugs, but now I’ve been assigned a feature to implement in the codebase. I’m struggling to understand how the codebase works, where to look for required parts, and what to modify or add to make the feature functional. I have no prior experience in professional software development, only small projects from college. I want to do good in this internship and convert it into a full-time role, but I feel so lost. Can anyone guide me on how to approach this situation, what to focus on, and whether there’s anything specific I need to learn to improve my software development skills? Any advices from developers are welcomed i really need some help!
