I'm looking for a laptop with good battery life and quiet fans so that I can use it for studying, but also one that can be used for some light gaming, so ideally with a decent discrete GPU and 1TB SSD. My price range is around 1000-1500, and preferably a windows laptop because I've heard they're better for engineering degrees.

Problem/Goal: I’m a 15-year-old male, and I like both genders—probably 70% into guys and 30% into girls. Anyway, I badly want to come out, but I’m super scared of how my family will react.
P.S.: My family is very judgmental (especially my aunties, cousins, and grandmothers). I know for a fact that if I come out, their reactions and comments will be intense.
For context: I only have a mother, and we are three siblings. I’m the youngest. My eldest sibling is gay, and the middle one is a girl. I’m scared to come out because of the expectations placed on me. From their point of view, I’m the only one they expect to “continue the bloodline” as a straight guy. Honestly, I don’t see myself marrying a woman, but I do want a family. Probably through a surrogate mother—I don’t want a wife; I want a husband.
For those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, do you have any advice on my situation?

This is a bit of a different one. I am currently looking for work after being off work for 6 months due to a mental health condition, that I am certain started because of the job I was in. It was customer service and administration, and I was bullied and put on performance improvement plans for no reason.
I was the only male in the team, and felt belittled and ganged up on constantly. I do not have any references from that job, but that is not the point of this. I feel that it was right to leave, but I still get flashbacks and anxiety whenever I do anything employment related, like look for jobs, go for interviews etc.
Is this uncommon? Do I just need to get over it?

So I have migraines and thought it was from my tbi and tried to claim it from that. But they denied it. Now I have adjustment disorder with anxiety and depression and saw I can make a supplemental claim for that being the reason for them. Would that raise a red flag or just be normal/ok? Been looking at homes lately and my #1 option doesn’t have a basement. Iv shown a few people and they treat it like it’s a total dealbreaker.
I see people mostly saying basements are crucial for extra storage space along with some other things. This house (3 bed, 2 bath, 1800sq-f) has a pretty spacious 2 car garage with a second floor for storage so I don’t think no basement is that bad from a purely storage aspect.
I’m located in central Illinois if that matters

2025.02.02 03:13 FuckGunn Does anyone else wish Snyder was doing the Odyssey movie instead of Nolan?
The more I hear about this Odyssey adaptation the less interested I am. The casting is just terrible, like Nolan is just hiring a bunch of random movie stars instead of people who fit the part.
Also, Nolan as a director is too boring to do a good adaptation of the Odyssey. There's very little style to his movies and he has too bland an approach to everything. Plus, his refusal to use CGI will not bode well for a story like this.
I have a feeling Nolan is going to go a "realistic" route for this movie, like the dogshit Troy movie with Brad Pitt. He already made Batman realistic, now he's going to do the same here.
Snyder is much more suited to making a mythological epic. Just look at 300 or his Justice League. He could pull off the scale, and has the visual eye needed to make it work. Snyder wouldn't screw up the cast either, he would hire actors who perfectly embody the role.
Snyder would do a perfect and faithful adaptation of the story, like he has with 300 and Watchmen. I have doubts about Nolan though. Do you guys agree?

I'm drunk. I'm playing Control. Usually exposition is tedious. But this game is top notch when it comes to exposition. As I progress, the pickups are WAY more fascinating than one might expect. Being drunk is cherry on top. Ususally I'm not into getting drunk at home, but doing it for the prupose of playing this game, worthy.
